Credit where credit is due. The business does have a good boarding facility. Good grooming staff and vet techs. The vast majority of the employees are very kind. There are a few who need to learn some professionalism. DVM Brodie Owens. She worked at Gehrman Animal Hospital for nine years in Minnetonka before coming to Plymouth Heights 11/2 years ago. I met her with my dog Danny on 6/6/2014 for a routine checkup. She seemed very kind. I pointed out that my dog Danny had a sore in his ear. She recommended I apply Tri-Otic Ointment twice a day for three weeks. There was no change. I could not speak with her by phone. Instead, information was passed on through a receptionist about options. Cefpoxime was given me in the form of 100mg tablets. I gave this to my dog each morning with food and was told to continue to apply the Tri-Otic Ointment twice daily. After that regiment was finished, there was no change whatsoever. I called Plymouth Heights and again was told I could not speak with the doctor. I was told Brodie Owens former employer, Gehrman Animal Hospital that it was the policy of the doctors there to call dog owners about treatments. Why Doctor Owens didnt want to call me is disturbing. I have spoken to other doctors at Plymouth Heights who have been much more personable. My dogs left ear is now 2-3 inches back compared to his right. He is a lab mix and his appearance is very disturbing. I have only spoken to receptionists relaying informations from Doctor Owens. Apparently, I must now take my dog to a Veterinary Dermatologist and have them perform surgery. At least that is what I have heard second hand. I have not spoken with Doctor Owens since 6/6/2014 nor has she seen my dog since then. I can easily get a call from my dentist or my own doctor but I cant get a call from my dogs veterinarian. If you go to Plymouth Heights, you might want to avoid using Dr. Brodie Owens.

We went here a few times and enjoyed going there, the people are nice and friendly and they do a good job and theres not a long wait. The problem we encountered is that when our dog had to have a surgery, we asked for a quote. They gave us a quote over $900 to extract a few baby teeth out of her mouth. We felt like this was way too much and so we put it off and put it off and eventually just took her to another vet to ask for one more opinion, just to make sure we were getting the right pricing. That bet looked at it and her eyes got huge, her jaw dropped, and she said she could not believe what she was looking at. We ended up spending roughly 150 to get all four of them removed at a different place. It wasnt the fact that they lied to us, they explained everything that was on the sheet. They were just charging us for stuff that was super unnecessary. Like x-rays for every single tooth post surgery etc. etc. Friendly people, clean place, attentive staff, sends reminders for pets, they just dont seem to understand that putting a piece of paper like that in front of their customers is going to instantly drive them away.

We have been patients of Plymouth Heights Pet Hospital since 1998. We have 2 dogs who have since passed, and currently bring our 2 dogs and cat now. The care we receive at Plymouth Heights is excellent. We have an easy time getting on the schedule when needed. They always call and follow up with us after our visit. They are proactive in reminding us when our appointment is due. When we went through the 2 deaths of our beloved dogs, their care, their patience, their kindness made us feel so cared for and comforted. Their personal attention in getting to know our fur family is top notch. I live in Champlin and it takes me about 8 minutes to get there down 169. The staff and Vets are friendly and treat us like family. - Lisa Champlin

My family has been going to Plymouth Heights Pet Hospital since we moved to the area in 1977. As I moved away from home and started raising a fur-family of my own I have consistently returned to PHPH - even now, when I live across the river in St. Paul. I have stayed with this great vet clinic because of the level of care, quality of service, and affordable prices. And, most importantly, they love my pets as much as I do. They provide emotional support when things arent going well with the health of our pets, in addition to seeking out answers and solutions for treatment. I feel like the staff at PHPH are as much a part of our pets lives as I am - and that is the reason that I have remained loyal to this wonderful clinic for the past 40 years.

These folks have been an extraordinary find for me and my extended family and our pets. The doctors are kind and compassionate; immensely talented; and they take the time to bring all their skills to bear on their patients and their anxious owners. Also I have found they are very transparent and open about pricing and options. They give written estimates. Amazingly, I can confirm that my experience has been that every single time I have had an estimate for surgery or teeth cleaning or services they have always been LOWER than the estimate they quoted. That is a very pleasant surprise. You really owe it to yourself and more importantly to your pet to visit the good folks at Plymouth Pet Hospital. I cant say enough good things...

Plymouth Heights Pet Hospital has absolute love, warmth, & professionalism for the animals they care for! Our pit-bull, Livie, absolutely LOVES PHPH! We were lucky to find them for her health & dental care. And we were elated when we heard they also did doggie day care & boarding too! Our high energy 3 yr old goes 3-4 times a week to doggie day care. She adores all of the people there from the techs, to vets, and day care staff. She ADORES them all!!! I would say our dog has great instincts because my husband and I have never been to a place where they love & understand animals like these wonderful people. We have referred them to multiple family members for vet care & day care. Everyone agrees this place is WONDERFUL!!!

I have been a client at PHPH for 13 years. They took great care of my first cat right up until he passed in 2005 (they went out of their way to consult with other veterinarians about potential treatment options). Ive since brought my 12-year-old cat and 9-year-old dog for mostly routine care. The front desk staff, vet assistants, and doctors have always been compassionate and understanding. They are so open to answering questions (even silly ones) and always follow up after every procedure. We havent seen every doctor at PHPH, but Dr. Christensen, Dr. Cameron, and Dr. Owens have been very approachable, caring doctors (and they always believe me when I tell them that my screaming, biting cat really is a sweetheart at home).

We wish we could always have our sweet and loving doggie with us, but when we have to board her, Plymouth Heights is the place we bring her to know she will be in good hands and happy. She just recently had a 9 day stay and when we got her home we could tell by her behavior she was not stressed from being away. We love the "report card" we receive at the end of the stay as well. I called during the week for a quick "update" and was happily updated by a staff member. Of course, Plymouth Heights Pet Hospital is where we take her for clinic needs as well; for many years. Love this place!!
