Nurses On Surgery Floor Do Not Care About The Patients and Very Rude! In August 2016 I had a Cervical Block Procedure At Merrit Health Biloxi on the Surgical Floor For Neck pain . Initially the Nurse was polite as she began my Paperwork after I entered the room for the Procedure. They needed to start an IV for Anaesthesia so I pointed the area on my right arm where I knew I had a good vein and also asked her to wash her hands since she was stick me with the needle without Gloves or handwashing. Well this was a Great Mistake. The Nurse suddenly became very Rude and stated that she has been doing this for several years and know what shes doing. She looked at my arm and stated that their was not a good vein in the middle of my right forearm. the area that I was pointing out. I told her that I have been getting Blood drawn from that area for several years.She then stormed out of the room very angry while stating that she cannot deal with me and will get someone else. Two other Nurses came into the room and I had to ask each one to wash their hands or use Purell as they held the Needle without washing their hands. I received Nothing but Rude Behavior from the other 2 Nurses who after Poking my arm and hands for 11 times , walked out the room and said that i had no veins they could use and that I was trying to tell them how to do their job. The Anaesthesiologist came into the room and the Nurse told him that they were on Track until they started dealing with me. I was then told that I would have the Procedure without an IV. I was concerned about the Pain without IV but was told that i would get a local and the IV was just a convenience. Not True, I felt each Needle from My Neck to along my upper back spine area for the Local. As the Anaesthesiologist began the Spinal Block Procedure He requested the Nurse to hand him some items. He was wearing Gloves. Again the Nurse did not wash her hands or wear Gloves as she reached into the drawer to hand him the requested items. I Requested that she Please Put on Some Gloves. The Nurse Snapped at me Stating " I Dont Need To Wear Gloves Since Hes Doing Your Procedure". This was very Traumatic and all I felt was to Break Down and Cry , however I remained calm. I hope that No One ever goes through this experience. I didnt reveal that I previously ran the Hematology Department at Keesler Air Force Base and I also Trained USM and Military Students in the Phlebotomy Department during that Period. I steadily maintained the Role of a Patient and was Respectful even though I received Terrible and Rude Treatment at the hands of Nurses who should have shown some type of Patient Bedside Manner and Empathy. Several Years ago My Daughter was treated very rudely by the ER Staff at Biloxi Regional and i decided that I will Never Go there again, however I thought That under Merrit Health systems that the system was Revamped and Patient Care would be a Priority and that things would be better and a new Pleasant Atmosphere. I was WRONG. Things have not changed even with a New name.

My mom went to the ER once, few years ago, and paid the bill that they sent via mail in full afterwards. Then a few years later they sent another bill saying that we still owe them a little bit more, so we paid that too. and in the meantime they keep sending you more bills after bills that you already paid, because their billing dept has some kind of issue. And now they sent us another bill saying that we still owe them more money, I dont know if this is an interest that accumulated because their billing dept couldnt keep proper records or because this is a very greedy company that wants to squeeze every penny they can from their patients with whatever reason or excuse they have. Because when they threaten you with collection agency and negative credit report, then what can you do, other then pay the few more dollars they demand from you, because they have your credit rating as a hostage. We will never use this hospital again, its just a big greedy corporation.

They sent my cousin home too early after diabetic surgery on his leg. After he was home they called him & said he needed to come back because they were not supposed to discharge him yet. Soon after, my grandmother was there for an injury due to a fall. She also suffers from dementia so my cousin has power of attorney over her & we knew that eventually grandmother would be transferred to a nursing home. My family found out she had already been transferred when they went to visit her at the hospital & she wasnt there. No one cared to notify any of my grandmothers family, not even the person holding power of attorney over her, that she was being transferred to a nursing home for the 1st time. Aside from those, I have a friend who claims they almost killed her during her labor & delivery & another friend who is a nurse refuses to work there due to their poor reputation. Biloxi Regional would be my absolute last resort in case of an emergency.

Rude ER staff. Treated for flu and returned five days later with signs of strep. Im a healthcare professional, and they spoke to me like I was a two-year old, telling me that Tamiflu was crap (5 days before they couldnt believe my Pharmacy didnt have it it and basically yelled at me go not having the meds). Also told me the azothromycin I was prescribed should be knocked out my infection. Obviously it didnt. Feels like they assume you walk in the door drug seeking, instead of with real symptoms of a real, bacterial illness. Guess I was diagnosis-seeking. It isnt right to be on steroids and all kinds of junk for five days and not be able to swallow. Incompetent, rude staff, doctor included.

I took my dad here after a bad wreck on Sunday in New Orleans for a follow up we arrived at 6am Wednesday the staff is rude we needed a extra blanket to cover up and for him to lay on his side to help support his back the nurse get a sheet for support. I ask them what the hell she said we dont. Stock these rooms with blankets the Er staff cant seem to get there Head out of there Ass .This place is a joke for the Elderly. Yo come here and he has dam good health insurance . I hope to here from the hospital after this post this hospital is a danger to the city

My experience was devastating. They didnt listen. They were too lazy to get off their lazy asses and do some actual as l work to help me. They called me a drug addict because they werent smart enough to examine me properly with blood work or pee test. They assumed. I am laying here now still in pain. Guess what? Kidney unfection and back ache go together. I had to figure it out. I would be a smarter nurse than the ones they got there. They just dont care.... my name is Rhonda Lee and Im very upset that those nurses were so rude to me.

If you can, STAY AWAY! I recently had an apendex removed without complication and, in total, my insurance has been billed over 110,000. No, I didnt add an extra 0 in there. Looking at the itemized list, the prices are well above the high end ranges provided by internet searches. 10,000 for a CAT scan? Over 40,000 for ancillary services? They are the epitome of the health care cost crisis. With my 18,000+ pharmacy bill, I wouldnt be surprised if they buy all things direct from Martin Shkreli
