I dont even know where to begin! I must say that the staff at Kindred are an amazing group of people. Without them my mother would not be here today. She and I both agree that this is the absolute best hospital you could ever be in. Everyone from ICU, the second floor, respiratory, physical therapy, even housekeeping. They are real people! Theyll laugh with you, cry with you, hold your hand, etc. They will do whatever it takes. They really do care about your well-being. I couldnt have asked for better care for my mother. After having respiratory failure, valve replacement surgery, and being at two different hospitals. She had a trach and she was on a ventilator. It took a month for them to bring her from almost vegetable state, to her fun loving self. I cant thank these people enough. Oh! The food, my mother raved about the food! If you have to make the difficult decision of picking an LTAC, you need to choose Kindred South. I can guarantee your satisfaction.

When my brother was admitted to Kindred Hospital I had very little confidence that he would regain the ability to breathe on his own or get better. It was heartbreaking that he could not speak especially considering his underlying medical problems – advanced MS that has effected his brain, created uncontrollable spasticity in his arms and the inability to use his legs, plus more. He couldnt communicate by writing and the trachea tube prevented speech. So, not a lot of hope for his future. Over time and with consistent therapy he was eventually able to have the tube capped at times so he could talk. After another month, to my surprise, the tube was taken out. He will never be his old self again due to the MS, but he can breathe on his own, talk and is doing so much better. He is now back in a regular nursing home. Thank you to all the staff who worked with and cared for him.

I have been a patient at Kindred Hospital more than once and I have always received excellent care. Everyone from the nurses to the therapy staff take their time and make you feel good about your stay there. If you have any questions they are glad to answer and they are very pro anything that can get you well faster. By that I mean that when you are having therapy if you want to try something that you feel will help you get better, ask them and if it will they will help you achieve your goals. They give encouragement all along the way and will help any way they can. I am glad I have had the chance to stay here. I wish all hospitals were as good.

I dont think the care could have been any better. Any small changes in my health, they noticed right away and took care of things. I nearly died due to heart attacks I had when driving a long haul through Columbia, Missouri. The doctors initially had suggested my family remove life support. Now after the VA in Columbia and my time here at Kindred in Kansas City, I am fully recovered and looking forward to going home to Las Vegas to enjoy retirement with my wife. Dont ever give up no matter how impossible it seems. Im going to live my life differently. Its not over until God says its over.

The staff are very friendly, informative and helpful. They went above and beyond what I would have expected. The recovery went very smoothly and rapidly. The physical therapists were friendly and supportive, very motivational. They worked on all the areas that were the weakest with great effectiveness. It was hard work, but they were very encouraging. The hospital is an old building but that did not seem to be a problem at all.

That hospital was horrible. I spent a few hours there visiting a friend and I never saw a nurse check up on them the entire time. My friend, the patient, told me horror stories about laying in their own waste for far too long. I worked in the medical field before and Id be ashamed to work there. The best part about it was leaving!

Staff were mostly friendly and helpful, outstanding was Mr Tony from OT. Seemed like the nursing was understaffed. The handicap shower on 2nd floor is not made for handicaped people.
