Rude staff and ridiculous policies. Aside from the medical aspect of this location, which I know nothing about, some of the staff are very unprofessional and rude. I drove 3 hours, from Little Rock because my dad is having a procedure, to make sure he had a ride. This location verbally mandates that the patients have a ride in order to go through with any sedation. After my dad got called back I drove to the nearest fast food restaurant to grab lunch. I get a call from my dad who said the staff told him to have me come back because they have a "policy" that states your driver has to stay in the building ( basically held hostage and never step foot out of the office space) or they will not continue. So I drove back and asked to speak with the manager so that I could see this policy. The staff begins to tell me that its a verbal policy. I told her that I work in the hospital and that there isnt a verbal policy, the staff member then rewords it to, "The doctor prefers that the driver stays here... blah blah blah." They finally got a manager who handled the situation a lot better, however we were still told we would basically be starving until they chose to let us go. He suggested we walk or jump a ditch to get food. One of the nurses named Joey was extremely rude and had a major attitude problem because I was upset that I couldnt get food. He was waving his head back and forth and telling me that I was yelling at him, I didnt even raise my voice. My boyfriend came with me and we drove my dads truck. They told us one of us could walk to get food but that we both couldnt leave and neither of us could take the vehicle to ensure that we dont wreck and that the patient gets "stranded" here. This place is ridiculous another female nurse came out and was almost shaking because the incident had her so worked up.... I just want some food. We then ask if they have a cafeteria, but they said it was closed. So finally my boyfriend decided to walk to get some food and was unable to do so because there was a HUGE ditch filled with water. I have never heard of something so ridiculous in my life, completely unprofessional. I definitely understand the clinics concerns having a driver leave but to force us to stay here and not proceed with treatment because a family member is hungry is just ridiculous! I would give this location zero stars. About an hour later they contradict what they said and told us that one of us could leave in the vehicle to get food...

My recent knee replacement surgery and hospital stay in Ft. Smith, AR., at Mercy River Valley Orthopedic Hospital was a very positive experience. From check-in Dec.27, 2016, I was met with caring professionals who made me feel at ease and special. Im very thankful for Dr. Greg Jones and his team for their expertise, experience and excellent care. My knee has healed with no problems, infection, etc. My sincere gratitude to the hospital staff; from the nurses, lab techs, therapists, to the food service and cleaning staff. You all made my stay comfortable and secure. Your new hospital is extremely patient and family friendly! At checkout, on Dec. 30, I left with much gratitude and confidence regarding my continuing recuperation. I would not hesitate to return to this hospital and Dr. Jones for any further procedures I might need! Thank you all and God bless you!
