This vet clinic is outstanding! We moved here from Nevada and had to choose a new vet to take our dogs to in Springfield. I chose Deerfield because it seemed to have the best reviews online, and those reviews did not lie! Our beloved border collie, Bear, had epilepsy and had to have trips to vet frequently. We were also constantly trying different combinations of medication and trying to get his disease under control. Whenever something would fail, Dr. Caldwell always suggested something new to try and never gave up on us. He even referred us to the veterinary neurologist in Columbia. Each time Bear would have an episode, he would always call within the next few days to check up on us and give additional recommendations. This was an incredibly taxing and emotional ordeal for us and Dr. Caldwell was always there. When it was finally time for us to euthanize Bear, he was very supportive in the decision and gave us all of the information we needed to know about our options. After it was over, he sent us a sympathy card with Bears paw print so that we could keep that part of him forever. He even made a donation in Bears name to the Pet Memorial Program at Mizzou for veterinary research. I have never had a vet in all my years of owning pets that was so compassionate and sensitive to our specific circumstance. Aside from their wonderful care for Bear (and our other dog who is, luckily, happy and healthy), this clinic has also helped us in several additional ways. In one instance, we were worried about the price of Bears medications, so they priced matched for us the cheapest price we could find (which happened to be on 1-800 Petmeds), which reduced our monthly expenses for Bears medications significantly. They even have an online portal that gives you access to your pets records, lets you schedule appointments, sends you email reminders, etc. Ive been to many, many vets before, and this is by far the best care for our pets that we have ever received. Deerfield Veterinary Hospital is the best clinic in Springfield. If you want the best care for your furry family members, take them here!

Approximately a year ago, our cat of 14 years was having serious health issues. I reviewed veterinarians in the area, since our former veterinarian had gone out of business. Deerfield Veterinarys reviews were great and from the initial conversation, with setting up an appointment, they exceptional. On the first visit, the staff were phenomenal. Everyones attitude showed caring for our cats issues, as well as our feelings. After a thorough series of tests, which didnt cost a mortgage payment, the doctor discussed with us that our our cat had hyper thyroid disease, combined with end stages renal disease. It was most refreshing when the diagnoses were explained very clearly, with different options in how the issues could be treated. They also discussed the reality of treatment options and what the expectations for keeping our cat as comfortable as possible with the terminal diseases. This ranged from treatment, prescriptions and diet. They followed up, by phone, after every visit to see if there recommendations appeared to be bringing any relieve to our cat and were totally great about showing concern. We brought our cat in several times for follow up diagnosis and found the medications prescribed helped her daily comfort immensely. As the renal failure became more advanced, they took several unscheduled, calls for recommendations and support. Our kitty passed recently and again Deerfields staff were there to support us during the process and followed up with the nicest card shortly thereafter. I highly recommend anyone taking a loved animal to them and they can feel confident the pet, as well as the owners, will receive the best service and caring from the staff.

Taking a sick or injured pet to the vet can be an scary and emotional experience, for both pet and owner. The staff of Deerfield understands this, and they have helped our family through some difficult times. The veterinarians and staff give good advice, lay out options and let us decide whats best. Theyre also very attentive to our animals, giving a thorough examination, asking lots of questions, and always, always calling the next day, to check on our pet. We have an elderly dog who, under the care of another vet, was sick for a long time. We relocated to Deerfield, and immediately, her problem was properly diagnosed and treated. A year later, shes feeling and looking great. Thank you, Deerfield! Medical expertise + kindness and empathy + open until 7 p.m.(!) = Deerfield is where we send our friends.

Deerfield was recommended to me by a friend and their service and expertise has been outstanding. I got my puppy off an online add and was concerned because of the amount of fleas she had when I got her. I figured the first visit would cost a fortune because of this problem and all of the necessary shots she would need. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it turned out to be, and the best part is that they kept her all day while I was at work for no extra charge. I know that she is getting taken care of while Im at work and Dr. Denise is great to call and talk to if there are ever any problems. She is never in a hurry to get off the phone or rush out of the room during an appointment which is very much appreciated. Online services for appointments and medications are great too!

Deerfield has been the only place we bring our Fiona and our previous dog, Sawyer. When we adopted Fiona, she had a serious hip problem, and they did everything they could to help us figure out what was wrong and find a solution. We are happy to say she can use all four of her legs now and is a whole new dog! We do everything we can through Deerfield -- check ups, medicine, and even grooming. The doctors and staff there are always loving and caring and provide a wonderful and clean environment for the pets. I cant imagine going anywhere else. We have recommended Deerfield to our friends, and we will continue to visit Deerfield for all of our furry familys needs. Thank you, Deerfield!

Drs Ned and Denise and staff have been the place for the primary care of our two standard poodles since 1993 (J. Fred from 1993-2004, and Pippin from 2004 until now). The folks at Deerfield have provided excellent care in a warm and loving environment. Our dogs tails alway wag as we enter the clinic - which, to me, speaks volumes about the envirnoment and care our pets received. J. Fred in particular had two critical health events - in both instances Dr. Ned personally took the initiative to contact us and instigate aggressive treatment which saved J. Freds life. We have recommended the clinic to others and continue to do so.

In a word: Fantastic. I can not say enough wonderful things about Deerfield! Our dog exhibits some very challenging behaviors at the vet which always makes our visits extremely stressful (and some what traumatizing). The staff at Deerfield is patient, loving and calming in behavior to my overly dramatic Labrador. While the dog still makes a huge fuss, the staff is always calm, sympathetic to him and professional. They answer all of my questions and concerns compassionately and thoroughly. They also follow up with phone calls to continue to monitor how he is feeling. We will continue to come to Deerfield for our dogs care!

This is the only Vet office I recommend! Our primary vet is Dr. Denise and I know she loves out dog as much as we do. We have always been made to feel like we are a part of their family. Visits are never rushed and you are never forced into something youre not sure of. They will give you all the medical options for your situation...they arm you with info...so you can make informed choices. When our Luna crossed over the bridge we were given time to grieve and be with her. Respect, love and genuine care...along with quality medical services....This is why we love Deerfield!
