Dr. Riar and his staff are wonderful, professional, and offer outstanding service at very fair prices. My three dogs Mr. Gus, Bonkers and Leo have had numerous check ups, teeth cleanings and vaccinations at NW Veterinary Hospital over the past 3 years. Yesterday, Leo became very ill as a result of chewing a Raid Ant Bait and I rushed him to their office. Dr. Riar took immediate action to empty Leos stomach, gave him charcoal to absorb the poison and an IV to replace fluids. 4 hours later Leo was himself again and so was I. This morning at 8am they called to ask how Leo was doing and invite us back for a no fee check-up. Why I recommend NW Animal Hospital with full confidence: * I have never been overcharged * I have never experienced the Dr. or staff to be uncaring * I have never been pressured to submit to excessive testing * I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a scheduled appointment

I went to Northwest Veterinary Hospital after a very disappointing experience at another Reno vet office. I have been really happy with my experience with Dr. Riar so far. He immediately knew what was wrong with my dog and even showed me a photo in a textbook so that I would understand. He is always gentle and thorough when examining my dog, and he follows through to make sure the problem is fixed. Rates are very affordable and he even gave a free follow-up visit to make sure my dogs wound was healing properly. They also have a vaccination clinic on Saturdays so you dont have to pay for the full exam. I can always get right in when I need to and the techs and front office staff are friendly. Dr. Riar remembers me and my dog after only going there for a few months and I feel like he is sensitive to making sure we are happy customers.

A few Weeks ago my Pomeranian woke up shaking uncontrollably. His pupils were dilated and he wouldnt move, eat, or drink. A friend recommended that we take him here and Im glad we did. We were seen almost immediately and the facility was very clean. The very techs were all incredibly sweet and helpful and Dr. Riar was even better than I expected. He was very thorough and professional. He say down with us to explain the xrays and all the blood work and was very kind and patient throughout all of our questions. He sent us home with medication for the and to manage the pain. Our follow up appointment was to make sure he was properly hydrated and that everything had passed out of his system; once again, our visit was great. We will definitely be going back and I highly recommend Northwest to anyone who loves their dog like family.

We came to Northwest Vet Hospital in about 2012 while getting a second opinion and thank goodness we did - he saved our beloved dogs life (several times at this point). Since this first experience, he has treated all three of our dogs for many issues. His prices are beyond reasonable and he works his tail off (pretty sure he works 6-6 M-Sat). One of my favorite things about Riar is, if an issue is beyond the scope of his expertise he has a great network of experts to refer you to. Also, he is very picky about who he hires and his team is very, very kind. Overall good team with good prices. This man CARES about his pet patients and remembers each one (even from Banfiield, and he cared about them then too).

My pit bull was in a bad way. After dealing with several Vets around Reno, I finally made it to these folks and they were just awesome! The gals in the office were so sweet and they were great with my big ol pit bull. They were kind and compassionate in a difficult situation and for that I am so Grateful! In addition this Vet didnt kill my pocket book with endless tests, procedures, and exams. But the best thing of all... the doctor, he was so great! Friendly, very knowledgeable, and to the point. they also had state of the art equipment that made the visit quick and painless. I wish I found this vet earlier, but now that I have I wont go anywhere else!

This Vet is incredible!!! My dog consumed mouse poison while I was at a friends house with him. We rushed Murphy to Northwest Veterinary. The doctor did the medical procedures, then gave us a prescription. My husband left to have it filled, but came back & said it was $4,000. So this doctor got on the phone & spent a lot of time finding a place that had it for a cheaper price. He found a hospital that carried it for $200. THEN, he sent his assistant, at no cost to us, to drive out to that hospital & pick it up for us. This is an A+ veterinary hospital!!!!

Follow up review for the follow up appointment. Had an 11am appointment this morning. Driving in from the north valleys. Arrived at the office to be told by the receptionist that the doctor was not in today. No notice of any kind to me. I know everyone makes mistakes. Now I have to decide if it is mine for using them, or theirs for not being conscientious.

Totally Negative. This Dr. really is a reject from BANFIELD (petsmart) Completely mis-diagnosed my now departed dog causing an emergency clinic visit the very next day! If you value your pets life...Run away and fast! There are far better Vets in Reno Like Klaitch!

Are you looking for a great vet with wonderful staff? Dont look any further! Everyone here is amazing, kind hearted, understanding, and respectful! I wouldnt trust my babies to go anywhere else!! Thank yall so much and I hope God continues to Bless all of you$
