I had such an awful experience with my wisdom tooth extraction. I was the "last one before lunch," so they didnt even give me the option of general anesthesia or laughing gas. They didnt numb me up enough with the shots so I was fully aware and in considerable pain for the better part of the procedure. They told me to raise my left hand whenever I felt pain, but they pretty much decided I was a wimp from the beginning and essentially told me to deal with it no matter how hard I tried to tell them I was in pain. They gave me a couple more shots halfway through and that helped some, but I cried/screamed/whimpered through most of it. I was so swelled by the end (I have a really small mouth) I had difficulty breathing and took out the gauze in the car because I felt like I was about to gag. Then my mouth filled with fluid and I had extreme difficulty taking the pain medicine they prescribed when I got home and they were all out to lunch so they wouldnt pick up the phone when I tried to call until an hour later. I wasnt sure if Id manage to get the painkillers down before the anesthetic wore off. Nightmare scenario. Never, ever going back, and Im telling everyone I know to avoid this place.

I have been going to this dentist since I was in elementary school Im in my 20s now. I have have watched this place go threw a downward spiral. It use to be you saw the same people every time they knew you and your teeth well! Now they are all about the money and trying to get you in an out as quickly as possible. It use to be you only had to wait a few minutes if that in the waiting room now you may want to make it an all day event. They cram you into this tiny waiting room with not enough chairs to wait and theres always at least one person awkwardly standing. Then they rush threw the "cleaning" of your teeth. For mine, every time they would only clean my back teeth? Good luck if you cant make it to the appointment you set 6 months ago they are so over booked they cant get you in for another 6 months. Dont forget to answer their calls and text as well, if you dont they give your appointment to someone else!!

On the 8th a filling broke away from my front tooth. Called the Dentist I had been going to and the closest Appointment I could get was on the 10th and that was just the look & X-ray. I called Caring Family Dentistry on the 9th and was given an appointment for that day and an appointment for the next morning the 10th, to fix not only that tooth but one next to it that had a cavity I did not know about. From the moment I walked into the office on N State Street in Concord I felt comfortable in a warm cheery office. I found all support staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The Technician (Susan) walked me through what would happen. The next day when work was done which took a minimum amount of time. Dr. Todd J Sheffler was very gentle as was his assistant. I think I have found a new Dentist. Thank You to the Doctor and his staff. Janet Brown

I have been going to Caring Family Dentistry for almost two years now and from the very first phone call to my most recent visit everyone has been very pleasant and welcoming. I am not a big fan of the dentist, not too sure many people are, but Dr. Todd and his staff make sure you are always comfortable. Most importantly you are informed and educated about what is going on and there is never any questions when you leave! I dont dread going to the dentist anymore wondering what will happen, which is great! I have 100% trust and confidence in all of the staff here! I would recommend this practice to anyone and everyone!

I called first thing this morning, and the woman on the phone was so nice for starters, AND they got me in for a visit a few hours later even though Id never been a patient before. The exam was thorough and my options were explained to me, as well as pricing--and everyone was just friendly. Good chair side manner calmed this dentist phobe right down. Now I"m not so anxious about my upcoming appointments, and Im relieved to have left with a prescription or an antibiotic which hopefully take care of the infection. Ive already recommended this practice to a friend of mine.

I was a patient here and brought my then 8 year old son. He was laying down, about to begin his procedure and when he saw the needle going into his mouth, he cried. The Dr. put the needle down, didnt say a word and walked right out of the room. NEVER CAME BACK, even though we waited! after, I asked the staff where the Dr. had gone, and they replied, he will not work on your son today. I felt awful and belittled as a paying patient/client. NEVER WENT BACK! not me, not my kid.

hygienists are wonderful and well trained. Dentist, however, is very abrupt and not thoughtful. When he finished working on a cavity his comment was , "I need a beer." Deeply concerned about his opinion on a crown, i visited with another staff member and he walk rght by me with no acknowledgement of my existance. Later on had an appointment to fix a very jagged tooth only to have it canceled at the last moment. I am looking elsewhere but will miss the hygienist.

The staff are terrific. The staff who arrange appointments are accommodating. The receptionist is very welcoming when I arrive for appointments. My hygienist listens carefully to ensure that I am comfortable during routine cleanings ensuring that my special needs are met. Dr. Sheffler or his staff have always been available when I have had dental emergencies. I have complete confidence in Dr. Shefflers expertise. I am a very satisfied patient.

Ive never had a bad experience at Caring Family Dentistry. Everyone there is very accommodating and will make sure you are comfortable during your visit. Whether that may be that youre cold and need a blanket or making sure youre not experiencing any pain while work is being done on you. Ive had plenty of dentists throughout the years and this one is by far the best. I drive all the way down from Campton to come here. That says a lot!

The staff members are nice, but beware: they often give you wrong quotes without checking how much money is left on your insurance. Moreover, they dont give you quotes in writing unless you ask them. Now that I had to pay extra $500, I regret not making sure I had an official estimate in writing and double checking after them that I did indeed have enough money on my insurance plan to cover the work.

Caring Family is wonderful! Everyone Ive ever talked to is so polite and nice. The dental hygienist that I see, Kat, is super sweet, funny and addresses my needs and concerns quickly and thoroughly. This office is small enough to feel very family oriented, yet still up on the most current procedures, tests, equipment and studies.Thank you, Caring Family, for truly caring about your patients!

The way Caring Family Dentistry treats their patients should be the standard across healthcare. They were exceptionally friendly taking time to answer questions and verify information. They knew just what routes to take and what paperwork to file to give me the best care while not costing me anything. From start to finish it was one of the best healthcare experiences Ive ever had.
