I am not the type of person to rush to see a Dr., but I had trouble breathing on a Sunday morning. My mom convinced me that I had to get checked out by someone and I absolutely refused to go to the ER, being that I dont currently have insurance. Here, they accepted walk-ins on Sundays and they allow you to self pay. This option sounded a lot more appealing than paying thousands for an ER visit, so I agreed to go. I ended up waiting in the waiting room for 2 1/2 hours, and the waiting room was almost empty...(less than 10 people.) When they finally brought me back, I first saw a nurse. I remembered a symptom that led me to seek attention and I informed her of that. She got irate, and said, "This isnt a regular visit...you didnt put it on the card." She wasnt going to let me even tell the doctor, but with a little pushing, she eventually let me tell the doctor about it on the card. After seeing her, I only waited about 5 minutes for Dr. Kessler to come in. He was quick to shut me up at everything I had to say, he was pompous, arrogant and probably one of the worst Dr.s that I have ever had the misfortune of coming in contact with. He told me that some of the pain that I felt IN MY LUNG was just because I was breastfeeding or had large breasts...ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? This is my 3rd time around nursing a baby and I am positive that it never felt like this before. Next, when he checked my ear, he jammed it so far in there that I was in excruciating pain all night to the point that I was in tears and I still cant hear out of it. Then, he proceeded to tell me that the shortness of breath that I was feeling was probably anxiety and that I should see a psychologist. That pretty much concludes my visit. It was AWFUL! So, for the dreadful 5 minutes that I spent with the Dr. who was so sure of himself that he didnt have to listen to the patient sitting in front of him, I spent $90...that is approximately $18 per minute to speak to to him. SO, from now on I will try not to get sick on a Monday so that I have more options. Just as a side note...Dr. Deborah Jones right up the road is the most fantastic Dr. that I have ever met. If you are looking for a good Dr., she is the best of the best.

Absolutely horrible! If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst office ever. You cant get a referral for your life. I have gotten numerous letters from my insurance company and also specialists saying I owe them money because HPG never sent the referral I requested. Everytime you call to request a referral you have to speak to a voicemail. A phone call back wont be received for at least a week and a half. It isnt until you call and go on a tirade on the voicemail message that they magically call you back within 10 minutes. Ive had specialists even call me and say that they will get in touch with them personally to request the referral, only for them to call me back and say they didnt have any luck speaking with a person either, even after attempting to contact the office manager. My favorite was when I called for an emergency appointment and was told to go to the hospital by the "on call doctor" and ended up being hospitalized for a week in two different hospitals. Afterward they criticized me because they never saw me in person, even after advising them it was their own doctor that told me to go to the ER. I wouldnt even send people I dont like here. Now I have to wait to change primary doctors because I have an outstanding referral request that has not been sent yet. The referral request was sent before my specialist visit on 4/4/12, it is now 6/18/12 and it still hasnt been sent. Even after numerous phone calls (which finally got returned) stating they were going to send the referral right away. This place is an absolute joke. Once this last referral gets settled, and I hopefully stop getting the letters from specialists stating I owe them money, I will no longer set foot in this building unless its to take my patient file to another office.

If you are looking for a one-on-one relationship with a primary physician stay clear of this practice. While I like my primary I find it difficult to get an appointment with him without having to jump through hoops. The office staff persistently tries to put me with other physicians in the practice. To me this is unacceptable and so not personal. In addition trying to get a live person instead of voicemail is challenging.

Regular appointments are great! I used to have Dr. Pedowitz, but he moved. Dr. Castillo is the sweetest!! Great bedside manners, patient, and caring!! I feel very comfortable with her. I absolutely hate walk-ins. I try to wait until Castillo has an opening bc walk ins are like a box of chocolate, you never know what youre going to get!!

Horrible, no wonder why these same day places are in a boom, because these doctors offices dont know how to treat patients.
