Im updating my review to reflect the new vet at the office. We recently had some medical issues with one of our dogs, so we decided to come back to this vet to get him checked out since it was local and they had been there before (our dogs got their annual shots from Petcos vet clinic this year). Melissa is about a trillion times better than the last person they had in there! She is caring, compassionate, and has great rapport with her patients and their owners. You can tell she is in this profession because she cares and truly loves animals and takes pride in making them well again. __________________________________ This place definitely does not have the best pricing in the area. We were new to Shamong and chose them randomly because we saw their sign on 206. We were suckered into a one year payment plan, $42 a month per dog. They are basically everything you hate about a vet, trying to sell you on things that you definitely dont need. Dog flu? Really? They also neglected to see that one of our pups was over due for Bordetella, which caused havoc when we went to drop them off at daycare before leaving for vacation. Had to drop an additional $115 to get a nearby vet (we were all the way up in Eatontown) to administer the shot so he could stay. Absolutely no help when we tried calling. I would stay away!

On Friday I had to bring my little girl Samantha in so that she could cross the Rainbow Bridge after 16 years of love loyalty and caring. The members of the staff I encountered during this most difficult time made this experience as comforting as possible. My baby was treated with such loving care and respect, this was just so beautiful. The attention and care my wife and I were given helped make this time peaceful and less painful. We were greeted at the car by Emily and escorted to the backroom to avoid the waiting room. Sarah came into the room to explain and guide me through the process. Vicky added her kindness and tenderness with tissues water and other things. Dr Case was just so respectful and caring throughout the entire time. My little girl was shown such care comfort and love that I know she crossed the rainbow bridge with the best escort and send off possible. Thank you all for being who you are and how you helped my Samantha and myself.

I have been going to vetco for 6+ years. The staff has always been freindly and helpful and compassionate, you can tell they really care about your animal. One of my family members, a chocolate lab, has had many medical problems including two torn ACL (one on each back leg) and cancer. They cannot fix everything but they recognize their limitations and will refer you to another excellent facility as they did with the ACL tears. They actually found the cancer while he was having his teeth cleaned and treated it and we have had no more signs of it. Dr. Snyder is the best and the staff is wonderful!

Weve been taking our dog here for almost year. We are members of the care club plan and barely have had to pay out of pocket (only when our dog has required medication) We recently had our dog neutered as part of the plan. We had a terrific experience and our dog was wagging his tail when he left. The staff is amazing. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Were always well informed and I love that they text in regards to appointments, updates etc. and they even sent me a picture of our dog after he was recovering from surgery to let us know he was ok.

Dr. Cermele is kind, patient, caring...and she takes the time to explain any procedures and what is best for your pet. She is a comforting presence, when you are afraid. She is the best Veterinarian Ive ever seen..and Ive seen many. The staff is wonderful. They are kind and caring. Sarah is wonderful. She deserves her promotion. The x-ray technician, Vicki...is extremely kind and compassionate. I recommend Vetco Animal Hospital, very highly. I dont know what I would do without them.

My senior dog had an emergency & was staying with my mother while I was away, and she took him here and received amazing assistance. Although, my story isnt a happy one & we chose to put him down since he was suffering. Dr.Ruiz was so kind and understanding with the process. Im happy to know he was in a judgement free& loving environment when he passed.

Our dog had Lymes and we were charged nearly $1,000. The vet was unpleasant and pushed us towards additional services. If I went to a competitor I would have paid about $200 and most likely been treated better. I have a credit on my account and I was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to be refunded.

The friendliest, most caring veterinary Ive ever been to. Theyve found a way to get us in for an emergency visit. They price match their competitors prices on medicine. Most importantly, our dogs, who always hated going to the vet LOVE going here. Says all I need to know about the staff.
