I was in here this past week with my mothers 9-year-old cat Sirius, who overnight became suddenly lethargic, had red urine and was barely able to walk. He was also not eating and was severely dehydrated. He looked very sick and his eyes were glazed over.. Within a few minutes of conducting blood work it was determined that our cat was diabetic and suffering from a massive infection that was worse due to his uncontrolled diabetes. Prior to this we never knew our cat was diabetic. Dr. Byram explained the urgency and criticality of his condition and was very honest and upfront with her suggestions for care. Although blood work showed his kidneys were in a failing state, she explained to us that it could be because of the combination of diabetes + the infection and not actual kidney failure. It was decided he needed to be admitted at a separate 24-hr emergency care facility immediately, where he spent 5 days and was just discharged yesterday. He is now back to his usual self, loving, giving us headbutts and comfortable back at home. He will be on insulin for the rest of his life, but without the urgency explained to us about his condition and the fact that Dr. Byram gave us hope explaining that the signs of kidney failure could be misleading due to his diabetes, he would have likely not survived the night. We are glad to have Sirius back for years to come, and Im sure Sirius will be back in the future for continued preventative care.

If you dont mind being ripped off by this crooked operation, then by all means take your pet there. My elderly parents were taken for a ride by them when they used Friends with Animals to get their dog fixed. They gave them one price and told them they needed to bring the dog their for blood work before. The vet quoted them one price. But between that appointment they added all kinds of other charges like pulling out baby teeth and and told them they would have to sign the agreement to get the work done. Now my parents were down all the money for the initial visit and they were told they would have to fork over much more money to get the dog fixed. The whole reason they went to friends with Animals was because they are elderly and on a fixed income. If the crooked Animal Hospital would have been honest with them from the beginning they would have gone elsewhere. They are sick and crooked individuals at this operation. BE WARNED!!!! Other vets have told them what this Animal Hospital was doing were totally unnecessary. Its so nice that this hospital treats elderly people the way they do!

We have been very impressed by the physicians and most of the staff at Toms River Animal Hospital, but have decided to go elsewhere as the fees incurred by bringing our new kitten there were prohibitive. We were charged in total $415.11 from our first visit on September 29, 2015 to our last visit on November 13th. The vet explained that she has nothing to do with the pricing. This is understandable. Still, in comparing what Toms River Animal Hospital charges for routine visits, immunizations, fecal analysis, etc. I found they were the highest rates of any area vets. We adopted our kitten from the Toms River Animal Facility in the Municipal Complex. It occurs to me that if folks adopt a pet that has ben surrendered to the town or has been picked up by animal wardens that there has to be some "reward" for doing so--like a reduced rate at the vet. I plan to suggest this to Toms River Animal Hospital. Good luck, right?

The doctors and nurses and kind and handled my dog well. However, I initially decided on VCA because they participate in a spay program called "Friend of Animals" reducing the usually $450 spay to $90. However, they insist on getting new blood work and urine analysis instead of taking it from my previous vet. Lied about my dog having bacteria indicating a Uriniary Tract Infection and pushed into additional testing. $350 dollars later my dog does not have a UTI and still needs to get spayed, new blood work in now past 30 days old and want more blood work in order to schedule her spay ergo another $150. Very greedy money sucking business. I will never go back and now wont even get my dog spayed there and will pay $450 take a day off to go to my dogs original vet to deal with a well run facility.

I took my dog to TR Animal Hospital after she had been attacked by a pitbull and temporarily lost the use of one leg. I was welcomed into their office quickly; within minutes, I was discussing what had happened with Dr. Ellis. Dr. Ellis, an awesome vet, was caring but direct in her approach; I understood the possible outcomes, but she did not waste time elaborating on something that may not happen. She took great care of my dog while keeping me informed of everything that was happening, and I couldnt be happier. Thanks to Dr. Ellis and the team at TR Animal Hospital, I have a happy and healthy dog that uses all four legs to run and play!!

Have two dogs and will not take them any where else. Love Dr.Fernandez and so does Niko and Diezel. First experience with Dr. Fernandez, Diezel was near death and Dr. Fernandez got Diezel through it. He is very thorough. Have nothing negative to say. Love the staff as well. I trust my dogs with Dr. Fernandez and he is very honest and wont rip you off. He is doing his job and a fine one at it. I spent a lot of money but well worth it. Have gotten ripped off at other vets they just take your money but Dr. Fernandez treats our dogs like they are his. Cant say enough for Dr. Fernandez.

My dogs and cats have been seen by 3 vets and each vet was knowledgeable and gentle with them. My personal preference is Dr. Michelle Cordes. She is wonderful and I dont feel she tries to build up the bill. They have a very pleasant staff and they are very accomodating. One of the girls actually brought me a case of prescription diet for my cat after she got off work because I dont drive. I know they are expensive in comparison to other vets in the area and it can be painful, but they do go the distance so I have no intention of changing.

Our dog collapsed in our house. They told us to rush him straight in. They had a room ready and waiting for him. A staff member rushed his straight in. Unfortunately our dog did not make it. The staff was very compasionat and some of them even had tears in their eyes. Its obvious this is more than just a job for them. They are great.
