Dr. Martin is incredible. Ive been a patient for over 5 years. I was fresh out of college at 21 and found a Groupon for a teeth cleaning & exam, which was wonderful because I was in the interim that I didnt have insurance. So, I bought the Groupon and went to see him that week. I was immediately impressed. Heather, the office manager, was so friendly and made me feel comfortable. At the time, Lauren was my hygienist (shes since moved after getting married) and she was so sweet, gentle, and thorough. Then I got to finally meet Dr. Martin after my cleaning. He was wonderful - to the point, but still since and cared. A question on the intake form was something like "If you can change anything about your smile, what would it be?" I wrote that I had always hated the tiny gap in my front two teeth (it was very small, but I didnt like it or my front four teeth really. I had considered veneers, but all other dentists told me "oh youd need braces first to correct your bite (as my teeth sat right on top of each other - not any overbite at all) and THEN veneers to avoid potentially chipping them." Well, Dr. Martin told me I didnt need braces because my teeth were straight and he could do veneers easily and make it to were the bite wasnt flush on top of my bottom teeth but a small overbite (a regular bite, if you will). I got scheduled to get the process started the next week and I had a brand new smile 2 weeks later. He made my smile everything is ever wanted and he took his time. My first visit for the veneers was a late appointment and the office itself closed but he had no issue working 2 hours past close to give me exactly what I wanted. To this day, everyone at the practice is wonderful. Its a small practice - Dr. Martin, a handful of hygienists, Heather, and Kim (his wife) - but its a beautiful, clean practice with a wonderful team. You can tell everyone loves their jobs there and are very happy. I have referred several people to him. If this review helps you become a patient of his, tell them Ashleigh Nicole Angelette sent you! **Side note on just how wonderful the staff is and how they go out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. I was working as a night shift nurse, just got off duty and went straight to my cleaning appointment scheduled for 9:30. I got there around 8:00 and it was cool so I cracked my window and took a nice nap in my car until my appointment. Well, when I went in for my appointment I apparently grabbed my nursing bag and not my purse (which I had put my keys in). At 9:45 I go back to my car to sleep 5 hours and go back to work. I realized I locked my keys in the car or left them in the office. I go back inside to check and without any hesitation, Kim (Dr. Martins wife) called AAA for me and told them I was her daughter who had locked myself out so I wouldnt have to pay for a locksmith since I didnt have AAA. She then took me to an empty exam room, made it dark and tucked me in with a blanket and told me to sleep and shed wake me when they got my car unlocked. She didnt have to do ANY of that...thats just the type of people they are. She didnt ask "how can I help?" - she just jumped in and made my bad situation just go away. Thats above & beyond to anyones standards.

I had been seeing this office for cleanings with no issues until I needed two old crowns replaced. While numb and under bad lighting, I was asked to choose my new crown color from swatches held up to my rear molars. I said, "well this seems accurate but it is very difficult for me to tell in this light…” I quickly learned that the dentist and assistant deem color selection as completely “subjective matter” and will not comment on color. They wish to not be held liable for work that does not match the patients natural teeth color. I wasn’t choosing living room wall paint colors here people, I simply expected my dentist to help ensure the color match was as close as possible…pretty straightforward right? (For all other dentists I have ever gone to, yes). I left the office that day with one cemented crown at least 4 shades off in color from the rest of my teeth, clearly, just bad practice. I asked that the second crown be sent back after requesting to see it in natural light (since color choice was apparently all my responsibility). I was told by the assistant she would never give her opinion on whether the color matched and that it is the patient’s responsibility to choose a color they feel matches. Had I not pre-paid I would have left at this point. On my final visit the dentist was argumentative, accusatory and rude. He told me that he gave his opinion on the first terribly mismatched crown and that he told me it should be sent back to the lab, which is blatantly false (he must of had this conversation in his head). I got up and left without the second crown and will repay out of pocket to have another dentist redo this work. I’d much prefer to be under the care of someone who is cares enough to not allow patients to leave their office with mismatched colored teeth, nor gives them his bad attitude. I am very sorry that I chose “Art Dentistry” based on the name, presuming cosmetic aesthetics would be considered. Aesthetics, patient satisfaction and especially customer service are of no concern to this dentist, just look at the Yelp reviews (which I should have read). I also should have paid more attention to the smaller uncomfortable cues during exams, him being rude to assistants, pulls you by the front teeth to turn your head instead of asking you to turn it etc.…just awful.

I went to Art Dentistry simply because they accepted my insurance and were very close to my job. Ive never really enjoyed dentist visits but honestly who does?! My first experience I went in and was due for my cleaning. I also had some wisdom tooth pain and knew it was time for them to be removed. My wedding was 4 weeks away at this point. I told my hygienist that the area was sensitive before she started. She still wasnt the most gentle, she scraped my gums up and basically when she was done I was in tears from the pain and her pushing around the area of my wisdom tooth. Dr. Martin came into the room and was clearly not sympathetic. He did give me his professional opinion to go ahead and schedule the soonest appointment to remove my wisdom teeth so I wouldnt be in pain for the wedding. A few days after, I had them removed at a dental surgeon and healed with no issues. Months later I was due for another cleaning and went in as scheduled. My hygienist this time was very conversational and cleaned my teeth well with out the pain. Dr. Martin did come into the room afterwards and saw no problems. They did point out that I had sealance done previously and was starting to get some staining around the inside of my teeth because of it, but they werent cavities yet. I left feeling a little worried because Im big on preventative maintenance and didnt want to come back in and have cavities on my next visit. He didnt really explain my problem and I left confused. This is a small office. The hours are very random and every time I can call they always seem to be closed. I work 7:30-4:30 so scheduling during the day is tough as I dont have vacation time yet. The staff is professional and the receptionist was friendly over the phone. However, I do agree with some of the other reviews on here. This place does not seem to want to build relationships with their clients. On both visits I did not feel that they went out of their way to make me feel comfortable or even talk to me on a friendly level. Made me feel like just another client. Im currently looking for a new practice to see.
