I have a special needs son who has extreme sensory issues and also has a physical syndrome that causes inflamation of his joints and organs causing him extreme pain so When I first met Dr. Shane at a festival I told him all this and that I can see he has cavities and he is going to be a difficult patient. Dr. Shane said thats okay, we will schedule him when we dont have a lot going on and it will be nice and easy. And thats exactly what it was. After bringing my kids to him for over 2 years I cant say enough how happy we have been. His staff is so sweet and he is just a good caring Doctor. I asked each of my kids to tell me why they love their Dentist and this is what they said. Joey 16 said I like him because he doesnt take a long time, I hated waiting at our old dentist. Katie 14, said the same as Joey, I hated the long waits at the old doctor and I like that Dr. Shane helped me get braces. Miranda 12, said I like him because he has tvs on the ceilings and we leave with clean teeth, and Blu 4 said I like him because he has the big treasure chest and he has dinosaur teeth. I thought about what my older kids said about the waits and they were right, Dr. Shane has spoiled us... we dont sit in a waiting room for 2 hours anymore. My kids arent dredding going to a dentist because he has truly channged the way we think about dentists. If all dentists were as caring and ran their offices as he does there would be no stigmas about dentists. :)

Weve been going to sea smiles for 2 years now. The experience has been exceptional. We live in beaufort but prefer making the drive to Bluffton because of the great staff and child friendly environment at sea smiles. My kids started going at 1 and 2 years of age. They both felt comfortable and enjoyed the time there. My kids have never been scared or apprehensive about seeing the dentist. The office has toys/movies in the front lobby while you wait. Although Ive never had to wait more then 5 minutes. They seem to manage their schedule well. Which I appreciate as a busy mom. Once inside they have tvs on the ceiling to encourage children to look up during the appointment. Children seem to forget they are getting their teeth looked at. Everyone at the office is kind and informative. They also have a treasure chest ( which my children love) that Ive used as an encouragement to follow the staffs directions in order to get the appointment complete. My daughter did have a cavity and needed a filling at one point. She was calm and got through the appointment with no stress. She was only 3 at the time. I would encourage any parent looking for a dental office that will take care of your child and ease the burden of dragging your family to the dentist, to try Sea Smiles!! Ive referred friends and everyone has been impressed with the experience.

Weve been to two other dentist that didnt work out. One found a cavity but said the tooth would fall out; six months later the tooth had gotten bad. Second dentist said the tooth wouldnt fall out until he was older but because my son can be difficult, she was very impatient with him and demanded we have surgery. You can tell she was very flustered by him and outright told us she cant work with him. We had the surgery which was bloody and he wasnt himself. Then they wanted to do more expensive work on him. My daughter highly recommended Dr. Shane and Im so glad I went to him. Ill admit I do have an 8-year old son who can be very difficult but Dr. Shane is the ONLY dentist that knows how to talk to him, he also has more patience than the last dentist we saw. My son looks forward to his dental visits with and even remembers dental terms and has a discussion with Dr. Shane on his treatment. I was surprised when he asked if they will be using the "umbrella" because it was most comfortable for him. Its been a great experience for us all and we look forward to our visits with Dr. Shane and his friendly staff.

Dr. Shane & his staff are wonderful! My daughter LOVES going to the dentist! My daughter, Braelyn, had to have 2 of her bottom baby teeth extracted because her adult teeth were coming up behind them and although her teeth were loose, I didnt want to risk it hurting her adult teeth. She was a little nervous going to office that day because she knew what was going to happen. They were great there! When we left, she said "that didnt hurt at all momma!". We recently went back last week for her 6 month cleaning, and even though the last visit was for extractions, she was excited to go back! The environment of the office is so welcoming not only for the kids, but for the parents as well. Ive never had a scheduling issue, a billing issue, or insurance issue. I would highly recommend Dr. Shane Harpham to anyone with children. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again Sea Smiles! See you again in 6 months! :) Kelcie Anderson

Sea Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is a wonderful practice! My family and I recently relocated to Bluffton and today was our first visit. Based on this visit well definitely be back! Dr. Shane and his staff made us feel so welcomed! They were very thorough and efficient in the examination process. Both of my children were seen at the same time and their different needs were addressed and met! I needed referrals and received them before we checked! Excellent level of service! Dr. Shane is highly recommended for care of children that are in need of maintenance and specific dental care. Our son has been seeing Dr. Shane since he was 10 months old and we have been very pleased with the care and education that was provided to us. The office provides a fun and exciting atmosphere for the children. The staff is well trained and are always very welcoming each time we have been in to see them. We also look forward to bringing in our new addition to Sea Smiles in the upcoming months!

My boys love going here (9 and 4). My 4 year old had to have work done and he did so great. Im pretty sure he wants to be a dentist now. He tells me he thinks Dr. Shane is so cool. And he is! Everyone is friendly and they have clean area for toys and movie. The bathroom is clean, has a place to change little ones diaper, and they even have complimanary water and hot tea or coffee. The kids love the treasure chest for a toy after they leave. Seriously wish I could get my teeth done here, ha!

Dr. Shane has been the absolute best pediatric dentist my children have seen. He has been able to put my son at ease in regards to dental work that needed to be done. He has worked with us regarding payment for work. His office offers late appointments on some days, which works very well for my busy schedule.
