DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!! All they care about is the money. Its absolutely disgusting. We took our cat here the other day who was severely dehydrated and running a high fever. He was in pain and was not eating or drinking water for a few days. First off, when we got in the exam room the doctor didnt even bother to shake our hands ask us how we were or anything. Never asked what our names were or gave a crap about anything. He didnt even acknowledge our cat who was underneath the bench crying. When we got our cat on the exam table our cat was very upset. The vet was too scared to even examine him. He said he didnt want to check his gums because he was too afraid to stick his finger in his mouth. What kind of vet is too scared to examine an animal? So after he "examined" him all he said was he looks sick. Then immediately went to find his assistant to print up an estimate for everything he felt needed to be done. She came back and the estimate was 1,200 for the high end and 950 for the low end. 950 Is LOW?!? First of all they wouldnt even do a blood test without the money given to them at that moment. They told us it looks like his liver is having issues because his ears and gums were turning yellow. So of course we were scared and very worried when they started talking about his liver. We asked them what we could do as far as payment plans and they said payment plans werent their favorite thing to do. They said we could pay 750 today and the rest two days later... But that was their only payment plan that they would do for us. We told them we could not pay that. And then the vet goes on saying it is urgent that we get our cat on an IV and a blood test because of how sick he was. We told him we could not pay that right now so he said there was nothing they could do for us unless we pay right then and there. We asked him what we could do then and he said we could try another hospital that will work with us and "good luck". He never apologized never said anything to make us feel better or anything. Anyway we went to another vet the next day who actually cared about animals instead of money. They saw our cat and immediately showed a lot of concern. They took him right away and did a blood test and found that he had pancreatitis and that his liver was holding on to fat and was starting to malfunction and that it was urgent to get him on IV fluids and on medicine. Within 15 minutes they took our cat to be hospitalized. They said if we came in any later his liver would be so damaged that we would have to put him down. Long Animal Hospital turned away a cat on the verge of death because they only care about the money. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS VET!!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS!!!!! The entire staff at Long Animal Hospital should be ashamed of themselves, especially the "doctor" we saw. I dont even know his name because he never introduced himself to us. I am absolutely disgusted with this place.

My dog has been suffering with horrible itching and skin aggravation since February of this year. I took him to Long animal hospital and they diagnosed it as flea bites. They switched his flea medication, gave him a cortisone shot, and sent us on our way. I would expect any vet to do the same. A few months later, the exact same occurrence happened. It was at the 3rd visit for the SAME itching months later where I finally began to have reservations about the quality of care that Long Animal Hospital provides. On the 3rd visit, for the same problem, we spoke AT LENGTH with a rude vet tech about what was going on and why we were here a third time. We explained that we were very confident that although flea bites may be contributing, we do not believe it should cause catastrophic full body itching, feet biting, etc. But, Dr. Forhecz barely took a glance, and again sent us on our way with the EXACT SAME SOLUTION A THIRD TIME. You can imagine our frustration at this point, as our little guy is suffering and no one seems to care enough to take the time to actually EXAMINE him. Three visits and hundreds of dollars later, and he starts having more serious itching, mood swings, loss of appetite, and an upset stomach. This fourth visit, (about a month after the 3rd), we saw Dr. James. She and her tech were amazing, and restored my faith in veterinarians. She spent well over an hour with us and our pet, took skin samples, asked questions, examined him from head to toe, and blew me away with how caring she was. She and the tech are the ONLY reason Im giving this review 3 stars, and Dr. Forhecz is the reason Long Animal almost lost a long time, multiple pet, client. From now on my pet will see only Dr. James or will go elsewhere. I was very disappointed in the quality of care received overall before this last visit. I can see receiving a flea diagnosis once and even twice for the same animal, but a third diagnosis of the same, without even attempting to check for another solution and completely disregarding the owners opinions, is absolutely ridiculous, and in our opinion, neglectful of her as a veterinarian. I may not have a degree, but I do live with my pet and see his behavior, and since he cant tell the doctor what is wrong, it seems as though the owner would be that voice- therefore it is confusing as to why nothing we said in the 3rd visit was taken in to consideration. I hate writing bad/mediocre reviews, but felt this one was necessary, because it was that awful of an experience, and I would hate for anyone elses animal to suffer in the same way.

Ive been a long term client of Long Animal Hospital and up until lately, I have been very pleased with their service. My dog has terrible skin allergies, so we find ourselves in their office about every three or four months. They arent the cheapest vet solution, but I am willing to pay more to receive excellent care. Recently, Ive had a few issues which have caused me to question whether I will continue to use their center. I had a terrible experience with a vet who I do not usually see a few Saturdays ago. I was informed that Saturdays were first come, first serve. I arrived around 9am and was taken back right away, but I got the feeling I was "just a number" by the way I was whisked in and out of the exam room. The vet barely examined my dog and just ordered refills on medications that have worked for her eye and ear infections in the past. He was in the room with us for about 3 minutes before he took my dog in the back to clean out her eye. He implied that he would return but never did. A tech brought my dog back along with a bag of meds, still costing me as much as I would have paid for an actual appointment with her normal vet. Secondly, I tried out their new grooming services a few months back. I was pleased with the salon I was currently using, but I liked the idea of having everything done at one place. I was very pleased with the groomer from the start. She gave me a behind the scenes tour and took very good care of my dog. Plus, my dogs haircut looked great. I called back to schedule a second appointment, and the operator told me if I dropped my dog off by 8am that she would be ready to pick up by mid afternoon, meaning I could get her on my lunch break, another first come/first serve process. I dropped her off promptly at 8am and when I called to check in at 1:30, I was told they had not even started on my dog. At this point, they told me it will be closer to 4:30 or 5 before she is ready. Even though we received great service the first time, I will NOT be returning for grooming services. I hate the thought of my poor dog sitting in a cage for 6 hours before being groomed. I will return to Petsmart where they guarantee me an appointment time and will be finished in four hours. I just dont agree with the way the schedule works at Long Animal Hospital. Im hoping their new location has thrown them off a bit. Im going to give them one more chance.
