My ordeal with this office started over 2 years ago. I went in for a cleaning and was told I had several cavities and other fillings that needed to be replaced and at least one root canal. I made the appointment for the work to be done and other than the dentist ignoring me and talking to her assistant about her baby the entire time, it was fine. Until that night, when the anesthetic wore off and I was in pain, the Rx theyd given me wouldnt touch. I couldnt sleep, went in first thing for her to check it and give me something to better manage the pain. I waited OVER 3 hours to see someone. My next appointment I was told I would need another root canal and a crown. So I set it up, and when I came for the appointment, the folks in the front office said my insurance hadnt oked it and Id have to reschedule. They didnt bother to CALL me, just wasted my time. So I rescheduled, had the root canal, the tooth was still hurting months later, so I finally returned only to be told that dentist no longer worked there. So Dr. Barkley looked at it and said it would need to be redone, and that the previous dentist had broken a file off during the root canal, which isnt unusual, but she should have informed me. He redid the root canal, and I decided to go elsewhere for the crown and any further care. Ive heard the offices have been remodeled, which is good, but the facilities were always kinda dirty, stuff on the floor and stuck to the walls and the bathroom was gross. Dr. Barkley was excellent, which is the only reason this place got 2 stars.

I had a HORRIBLE experience at the Alpha Dental Care in the Lincoln Village Plaza. They are extremely disorganized and very rude. I scheduled my appointment to have my wisdom teeth taken out 2 weeks ahead of time, the office never asked for my phone number, address or insurance information until the DAY of my appointment. I was rushed into a room with the doctor who only explained the risks of surgery. He didnt explain what he was going to do, or ease my fears of surgery in any way. He then proceeded to ask me what GRADE I was in... he shouldve read my chart knowing that I am 22 years old and no longer in grade school. The dental assistant that was in charge of putting the tube in my nose to provide "laughing gas" kept grabbing my head and shoving it onto the head of the chair, while the doctor WITH NO GLOVES was attempting to put an IV into my arm. He missed the 2 veins in the bend of my arm, and finally got the IV to stick in my hand. I was out very quickly and woke up to a nurse/dental assistant saying "Hey! Are you awake?!" I asked for a blanket and drink of water, she replied, "You have water and blankets at home, its time to go." The doctor never came in to tell me how surgery went, I wasnt given any discharge or aftercare instructions. The staff didnt give my friend (who drove me) any instructions either. I am very displeased with the staff and organization of this dental office and would never recommend that someone go here. Steer clear!

I will never step foot in this office again. I had a consultation several weeks before my appointment to have a piece of tooth and root extracted. It was agreed I would have local numbing not sedation.The day I arrived for my appointment they gave me paperwork to fill out which included permission to sedate me. I told the girl at the desk that I did not want to be sedated, she stated well that is how we scheduled you, and we will have to move you on the computer???. Whatever that meant. I waited almost two hours and then went to the desk again to ask if they had forgotten me. I was then taken back to a dentist chair and told that all the instruments were dirty and that is why I had to wait. Really??? All instruments are dirty. Then when the dentist came in he said "you are to be sedated, right?". Unbelievable. I again said no just local numbing. I would not take my dog there to get her teeth cleaned. And I was given a prescription for percacet with someone elses name on it. That caused a whole lot of confusion at the pharmacy...which took more of my time. The dentist who took care of me was very nice but that place is a hot mess. Forgot...when I originally called for a consultation the girl who answered said "you dont need a consult, just come in and we will take care of you". She did not even know what I needed done. I had to practically beg for a consult. should have run like the wind after that first phone call

I dont write many reviews but this staff deserves 5 stars. Ive been here a couple times for fillings and the dentists have been awesome. Very friendly staff.. and what i like most is they get right down to business, Ive been to other dentists who play games and are shady.. and even down-right liars about what work you really need done on your teeth! I have also had many complications with other dentistry practices with my insurance ect. Ive never had a problem here, its a quick, simple process without the extra stress.. They just get right down to the root of the problem and take care of it. Depending on the day and time you go, they might be packed and you may have to wait longer than expected.. But ive also had times where they get me back right away.. I went for a cleaning and they found teeth that needed fillings, so they did the fillings in the same day! That is what i like.. you dont have to wait around making more appointments ect. Also these dentists dont give you that awkward conversation either.. Ive always been turned off by other dentists trying to butter me up for whatever reason.. But these dentists are all business and dont give you that awkward small talk or personal dialogue.. Its all about getting the job done not a bunch of chit chat. I dont have anything bad to say about this practice. Great job! -Anna M

So just called to let them know that I was gonna like 10 mins late cuz the bus takes forever...so she was like okay. She then calls back immediately talking about um miss did u say the bus...Im like wtf is it now...I say yes mam the bus is there a problem?!?! She like yes so we are gonna have to reschedule since I have no ride. Someone has to be here just in case something happens.... So Im like u guys already did this twice to me where yall for got to tell me not to eat before I come in...now im boiling pissed because I called off work and Im in pain been in pain for a year...the lady hangs up on me ...I call back to complain about how rude she was ...someone else answers the phone has me on hold for 20mins...long story short if the would reschedule me in it wont be until end of January 2017 so yes Im crying and I hang up.... So now I have to find someone else who will take me before this pain returns please listen to me when I say make sure u ask all questions before u leave....oh get this I even called yesterday for time and rules and regulations... So u know what Im not dumb they are...Im so mad I wish I could rate this a negative star
