I havent seen an eye doctor in months... years, actually. Things had been going fine with my vision typically but recently my distance vision has been worsening despite my glasses, so an eye appointment was in order. A coworker recommended Central Ohio Eyecare and it was a good experience from moment one. First, I was pretty pleased with the fact that I could pre-fill out my information online for minimal waiting at the actual office. I also appreciated that even though I probably was supposed to make an appointment first, they called me after I put in the info and got me scheduled despite. Arriving was good; its a little weird to get into the parking lot as the median starts right about where the lot is, so really you ought to come at it going north on Olentangy River Rd. Parking lot was a good size, and entrance was clear. Very small amount of time to be seen (even though I was like 20 minutes early for the appointment...) and the staff was outstandingly courteous and relaxed. Testing was quick. Actually seeing Dr. David Zeigler was wonderful as well; happy to explain what he was doing, and very very quick to figure out how to best adjust my prescription. The staff was then super helpful in helping me find frames, and did an outstanding job of explaining my insurance. Paid quickly, finished up with the tests post-dilation (annoying but necessary) and I was on my way. Cant comment yet on my new glasses as I dont have them yet, but they did a nice job cleaning up and adjusting my current pair while I was there, so Im rather optimistic. Youd have a hard time finding better in Eyecare. Check this crew out.

I usually do not write reviews unless I had an awesome experience, but by far this bussiness made me very upset. Although I really like the staff there, they were really nice, but if you want to get charged outragous amounts then this is the place to go! As I just moved to Columbus and looking for an eye doctor, I went to Central Ohio Eye Care as a new patient for an check-up eye exam/annual. I was expecting at most, AT MOST $130.00 for a check-up. Well here they will chage you around $318.00! I was at the check out and did not get a run through of the bill with the receptionist so I left and did not even look at the bill. I used my dads eflex card so I wasnt paying out of my own pocket so I did not even think to look at the bill. Who would have thought it would be that much?! I did not think it was going to be $318.00 atleast. So I called them and asked why it was soo much and they said that is their fees and charges. Here is a break down of my bill: Exam Comp, New: $150.00 (ridiculous...) Refraction: $58.00 (this is normally within an exam price {$150.00}, listed above) Anterior Seg. Contact Lens Health A: $45.00 Contact Lens Management and Follow: $65.00 (what?!!) Grand total!!!! $318.00 I am not saying this staff is not well trained or are rude. What I am saying is if you cant afford this amount for an eye exam do not go to Central Ohio Eye Care. By all means if you want to pay over $300.00 for an eye exam then this is the place to go!!

I was a new patient who came to this facility needing only a refraction for new lenses. When I finally got my new lens prescription, the saleswoman tried to give me 10 reasons why I needed to buy new frames. Now there was nothing wrong with my old glass frames, all I needed were new lenses for my existing frames and Ive been doing this in other cities every year for the last 4 years. When I finally told this red-haired sales lady that I was going to keep my old frames and all that I wanted was the price for a set of new lenses (regular plastic lenses with gradient bifocals cut in and no extra coatings or other things she was trying to sell me), she said, without being able to look me in the eyes while she said it, "That will cost $398.27." I told her that the price was outrageous and left. Subsequent visits to other optical stores have given me price quotes from $243.50 to $280.00 for the identical lenses made from the same optical plastics. This facility is a place to avoid unless you dont care about seriously overpaying for your glasses.

I have to admit...going to a doctor, any doctor makes me nervous. To many unpleasant experiences as a child I suppose. So naturally, I was a little on edge from the moment I walked in the door at Central Ohio Eyecare Inc. The receptionist welcomed me to Central Ohio Eyecare Inc and I began to fill out my paper work. The fish tank was a very pleasant surprise and I began to relax. Not mention her warm reception at the door. My initial exam was nothing like I expected. Very calm, very relaxing, and the environment put me at ease. When the O.D. began his exam of my eyes it was equally disarming. He was very polite, and kind. Asking questions, and going through tests was nothing like I expected. Again, bad experiences from childhood preconditioned me for a cold, sterile experience. None of those things reared their ugly head at Central Ohio Eyecare Inc. So, thanks so much for putting to rest the memories of long ago. And replacing them with a place that treats you with respect and cares about your eyecare needs.

The reason I go to Central Ohio Eyecare is for its suburb service, professional staff, and their focus keeping each patient comfortable and cared for. I had been going to multiple eyecare "specialists" for years trying to figure out what was wrong with my eyes. After my first visit with Dr. Zigler I was diagnosed with an infection that no other doctor was able to pick up on. The staff cared deeply for my well being and was sure to make sure that the contacts I was fitted with were the right ones for me. It has been amazing to finally be relieved of the years of suffering my eyes I had went through. I am willing to go above and beyond to attest to the fantastic eye care that this office gives to each patient and I will always recommend them to my family and friends.

Every staff member I interacted with was great! I wear progressive lenses and have had lots of trouble finding the "right" place to look through my glasses when using the computer. Dr. David Zigler suggested getting an additional pair for computer use that would just correct mid and close range vision. I went ahead and ordered the additional pair and am so happy that I did. They are perfect and I am not quite sure how I managed for so long without them. The person fitting my frames spent so much time with me to be sure that the frames I wanted could be adjusted to fit. And to top all of that, my glasses came in much sooner than what I expected. I dont expect I will ever go anywhere else for glasses.

Ive been a patient of Dr. LaMar Zigler for nearly two decades now, and there is certainly a reason for such loyalty. As a middle schooler who needed reading glasses, to a young professional in need of contact lenses - Dr. Zigler and top class staff have always been responsive to my needs and taken care of whatever my concerns were. Dr. Zigler also makes it a point to ensure that once you have your glasses or contact lenses to follow up and make sure that they are working properly and not causing any discomfort beyond the typical adjustment period. That is greatly appreciated, especially when one does not know what to expect with a new pair of glasses or a contact lenses.
