We called ahead before arriving to the ER, I was put into a room immediately. However once there the nurse was slow and the doctor was completely disconnected. The nurse was a calm person and attended to me when in the room. But Im sorry to say they lacked communication, often left us unattended for long periods of time, and even had a MAJOR oversight regarding a reaction to drugs. They also told me directly they were going to do certain things that they didnt do, such as cleaning my wound. During the visit the typical questions were asked mid-way through our stay. Address, name, birthdate etc. I still hadnt been proper treated, my pain was unbearable and I had to ask the women to please find our doctor, who was on break.. after telling us theyd be back in 5 minutes. Additional to that the women asked the time of the accident, then openly said she was going to change it because she thought we had arrived later. This was very bizarre to both myself and my family, she had asked for the time of accident not time of arrival, then changed it by more than an hour. She also asked if I wanted to claim a church, not being from the area and also being in a great deal of pain to the point of tears, I told her I didnt want to claim a church. I said "Im sorry but I really dont care about that question right now" she went on asking if I was sure etc etc. I fully understand the procedure and even told her that, but the timing was less than logical. A separate time I had to leave the room to ask if they could come in because the pain was so high for so long. About 5-8 nurses were standing around talking, one even directly asked if I was the (listed my condition) patient. I wasnt informed why I was left unattended for so long, it surely couldnt have been because they were busy. Ive waited a few weeks to write this to ensure my opinions on the experience werent emotion based, but rather facts of our visit. At the very end, what I can only guess would be the discharge nurse came in. She was detailed, quick, direct, had excellent communication skills, she seem to care and was incredible informative to both myself and my family. She alone would earn the hospital a 5 star rating. They did treat me, I was out of pain by the end, but in short they had a total breakdown of communication to us and between one another.

I went to the Grady Emergency Room last week asking for help. I am a single mother of a 19 year bipolar daughter. The mental health professionals in Franklin and Delaware Counties have not been accepting new patients since we moved her last August - so my daughter hasnt seen a Dr. or Therapist for 7 months and her behavior has become intolerable. She curses at me, throws things at me, make fun of me, hits me, on and on until I finally left and went to the Emergency Room in tears. I was hoping for an iv, a kind word, and prescription to help me gain my composure and some strength. Instead, I was informed that I should quit rewarding that behavior and she will quit doing it. "NO, she needs more medication - and then she will stop acting that was." It is not my fault she acting that was - reward, no reward - she will continue to act perverse until her medication is modified." So then they changed my diagnosis from acute anxiety to "UTI" - they gave me a prescription for Bacterim and sent me on my went. They didnt document the anxiety I came to the ER with...I didnt make it up. And the mental health resources around are booked so that it is possible that I have been living with a manic person for 7 months. I do need help. I cant tell you the feeling it has left me with - I went to the ER asking for help and they essentially didnt believe me I guess. My life is really hard and I dont ask for help very often if ever - you can check the charts. My confidence in Ohio Health is really shaken. I wish there were so logical explanation.

Grady Memorial Hospital is the worst hospital I have ever experienced in my life!! Worse than Marion General which is saying A LOT!! I was in a car accident in January. First of all, I have a list of medications which I carry with me at all times in case of an emergency. I also verbally gave my list of medications to all the emergency personnel and the nurses and doctors. The doctor then verbally instructed me and prescribed me a medication I would have a severe interaction if I were to take it. I knew this quite well and told the doctor and he assured me that it was fine when I knew it was not. *EDIT* Also they mailed a survey to my home in which I submitted the above problem with my phone number included and they never called at all. So May comes around and my husband is asking me where all our Health Reimbursement Account money has gone. After some digging we discovered this hospital billed BOTH my auto insurance AND my health insurance. And both paid. So this hospital got paid double and they never said anything about it. So here I am two months, nearly three months later, fighting with them WEEKLY to refund the money to my HRA. They refunded the incorrect amount shorting our account $100. And the refunding it incorrectly by not submitting a corrected claim. I am so over this whole thing. The car accident my toddler daughter and I were in was horrible. But I would have to say dealing with this corrupt thieving hospital is WORSE!!!

Grady Memorial ER, is much different than the hospital. I will be doing what I can to file a complaint against the ER Doctor. My brother was diagnosed with pinched nerves about two months ago. Nobody gave him anything for the pain. Went to the E.R. was treated like criminals. She told us he had been there a few times, then changed the situation and started naming off dates that he had came. June 17th and then the 25th, said he had been to Westerville ER, for a stubbed toe. Which is not true, it was for something else. I am sick of ER doctors treating patients like criminals. The pain was so bad its causing severe swelling. This doctor clearly had an attitude problem, that will be adjusted. We even brought a copy of his MRI, to prove that he had pinched nerves. He has herrington rods in his back and nobody wants to help right away. So were stuck waiting till the 17th for pain management and the 27th for a damn neurologist to help out. Dont appreciate getting yelled at and treated like crap for going in for something legit. She even accused us of seeking out narcotics, which we never even asked for. He just wanted to see what was causing the pain. Waiting for the pain management to see what they say, then will decide from there what to do. I am tired of doctors not knowing what the hell they are doing when they are diagnosising and not giving any relief while were waiting for a damn specialist appointment.

This Hospital is disgusting. Our grandmother is in hospice. We had there so called "Hospice expert". This is what she told us. Not sure what type of expert she is. She tell us about 17 time in a nasty rude tone that our grandmother dying. This so call expert turns down my grandmother oxygen because her lips are turn blue. This caused her to start gasping for air. Lets jump today. We were told by one of the nurses that another nurse was saying "We should just turn off her oxygen and let her die". Im no law expert but that sound like premeditated murder. Lets also talk about being "She hasnt died yet" (Yes, that was said too) they want to discharge her. The dont care where she gos. Just the fact she is there and they dont want her anymore. They dont even check up on her. I hope these people end up needing care and get people too give them the same treatment they are giving my grandmother. I dont even want to think about how many people they have murdered (Yes that is what it is) over the years. Do not bring you loved ones here. Some people working there do care. Most, well I really hope you get what you are doing to other.
