This has to be the ABSOLUTE WORST hospital I have ever been to for labor and delivery!!! If I could give ZERO stars, I would!!! I had my son here while my active duty husband was deployed back in January of 2013. I went into labor at just shy of 38 weeks. This was my 3rd child. I knew I was in labor, but because I was JUST shy of whatever their studies recommend, they would not help me into labor. I went into labor Jan 21st and I had an ob appt at 1. I called my dr office several times and could not reach them, so had to go up the elevator, into the office to ask what to do. They sent me to triage. In triage my mother and I watched my contractions get closer together and stronger. By 5-6 pm, I was on the floor in yoga positions, moaning and, trying to stop the pain. Due to their regulations adn the fact that I wasnt dialating, the nurse said they couldnt help me. They gave me a shot of MORPHINE in my upper right thigh and sent me home with orders to take a bath and only come back when I was actually in labor. Not even 15 minutes of being home, and JUST getting in the tub while on the phone with my husband, turning purple at the face and crying because I was in labor, I called my dr and he said to come back in. Well, needless to say, on the way to the hospital my poor 64 year old mom was flying down 71 and I felt the need to push. When we got back to the hospital my mom parked by the emergency section and yelled at the nurses. They had to get me into a wheelchair and got my upstairs to labor and delivery. Seconds after getting into my delivery room, my water broke, and I had meconium staining. The slew of 5-7 nurses had me remove my pants, and get into bed (which I could barely do). By the time I got into bed, my son literally FLEW out of me and the poor nurses had to catch him. The Dr. was nowhere to be found until a few minutes later. He came in just to cut the cord, still putting on his jacket and exclaiming that he JUST got back to the hospital. After he left, the nurses cleaned up my son. I heard them talking about how another woman had this happen the SAME night, and that she had actually given birth in her car. At my sons 1 week appt, I found out his cord was wrapped around his neck. If I had had him in my moms car, he wouldve died from the meconium staining and the cord around his neck. Since that incident, I have been getting harassed for bills, and its 2 years later. My husband is active duty. We are fully covered. About a year ago, I spoke to a woman from billing and told her my story. She was almost in tears and heartfully apologized and promised me shed taken care of it, and that I wouldnt hear from Cleveland Clinic again. My husband has been home for almost a year, we have PCSd to another base far away, and I just got a notice TODAY that Cleveland Clinic has a lawyer out to SUE ME over the bills. I wouldnt hit my dog in the @$$ with Cleveland Clinic. Not only did you almost kill my son with your malpractice, but you keep wrongfully billing me for something that is absolutely covered. I had 2 kids before that one, and I never paid a dime for it. Your hospital should be no different. This is bullcrap and I hope that you stop treating your patients like crap.

I apologize for the length of this review, but after a month of talking to different sectors of Cleveland Clinic, I have been given little help and some interesting answers. I will organize the review by visit, billing, and customer service. The visit: I went to the ER for severe abdomen pain. Pulsating pain that hunched me over. I waited in the Waiting Area for 1.5 hours, no medicine was administered to me for pain, I was told that I would be seen soon. Upon my 3rd visit to the receptionist (where I inquired for paperwork for allergies and medicines I currently take to speed the process) I was admitted. When I told them I was in severe abdominal pain. They took me back to the an ER room and had me wait. During my visit, I was requested for a urine sample, fecal sample, Cat scan of my abdomen, and blood samples. During all of this, I was in severe pain, but was never offered medicine or relief. Upon being dismissed as constipated, I inquired what the cause was and the Doctor escorting me out told me they had no idea. I was never given any medication or pain relief during my 6 hour visit. Billing: There are always surprises on medical bills. My bill was high, even the "xray" which refers to my Cat scan was 2700 dollars, which seemed high considering the Doctor who suggested I receive the Cat scan said it would only cost 1000 dollars. The Technician to read the Cat scan charged 700 dollars. The various lab work was priced as I thought it would be. Even the ER doctor had a modest charge compared to the Radiologist and the Xray. After some inquiry and web surfing, I found that Cat scans run around 400 to 1300 per scan and my Primary Care Physcian also told me the price was far to high. After inquiry into Cleveland Clinics billing, I was told that they charge more because it is not only an insitute for medicine, its an educational place having admittedy inflated prices to cover the cost of the educational part. Customer Service: I attempted to get an itemized list of what was done to me during my visit in order to verify I was not being billed in appropriately. This task proved hard and took a lot of phone calls. I did however get a line by line when I contacted Medical Records, though they could not release results to me without paperwork being filled out in person. The itemized list verified that I was billed for exactly what they did to me. The customer service network is frustrating, but they will and can help you understand with some effort. Summary: Cleveland Clinic had a long wait time for me, I cannot say everyone has a long wait in the ER. They did not treat my problem with any urgency (was not given pain medication despite being in severe pain.) They admitted to overcharging on procedures to fund their educational part. They have a complicated way of passing you around when you call in for assistance, but they do get you what you need. All in all, with other hospitals and urgent cares on the same road not more than a mile away, I would not come to Medina General Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Hospital again.

Went there for my wife who was suffering of major front, leg, and back pain to the point she couldnt walk or talk. Had to carry her just to get to the wheel chair. Got there and was carted to the waiting room while my wife was reeling in pain. Asked staff on estimate, wouldnt provide one and said itll be a while. I told them my wife was in major pain and what to do. They shrugged and went back to gossiping and chatting. Having waited for an extended time, I decided to pick my wife up and put her back into the car. Drove her down the street to Summa Emergency Room and was seen immediately with such an amazing staff and doctors. Highly recommend Summa. The entire time the staff was so accommodating and pleasant. Got x-rays and cat scans done immediately. Do not go to Medina Hospital - terrible service, rude staff, and all around disorganized. Wouldnt feel safe bringing my family there.
