On June 22, 2017 we admitted our 7 month old Shih Tzu to be spayed. She stayed overnight and came home around noon the following day, Friday, 6/23/17. At 5:30pm the day we brought her home, my husband noticed fur stuck under her stitches, so I called the vet and asked what I should do. I asked if I should put Neosporin or Lidocaine on it because she was in so much pain, but they said to leave it alone and not do anything to it. Not realizing the severity of her situation, my husband and I waited until morning to take pictures to get a better look. Pictures 1 - 6 are of Cakess incision in the condition in which Indian Creek sent her home to us. Immediately upon reviewing them, I called the clinic 8 minutes after closing and left a message to call me immediately about her incision. Someone returned my call, but expressed displeasure about the fact that it was closing time. I insisted they look at the images of her incision on Facebook messaging, and the gal who had called me back agreed to review them. Six minutes later, Facebook messaging noted she had read part of my message and viewed the image, but stopped reading. According to Facebook, she had stopped reading half-way through and hasnt finished reading or looking at the remaining photos even now, four days later. On Saturday, we anxiously waited 4 hours for a response to know what to do, then realized no response was going to come. Our vet had failed us at four crucial times (surgery, observation, release, and this emergency moment) and was now refusing to even respond to us. So much was wrong with this surgery, and this is only what we can see on the OUTSIDE. I shudder to think about what slacking has occurred where we cannot see. Pre-surgery, her abdomen was not shaven. It would have been such a simple thing to do to ensure the success of the procedure. Fur was not only NOT cleared from the surgical site, but it was compacted INSIDE the wound and tangled in the long, untrimmed suture threads. This prevented the wound from beginning to close; healing that would have begun during the 24-hour observation period, much like we saw 24 hours after her E-Vet visit. The emergency vet indicated the method of suture was not the best for this procedure, as the sutures did not close the wound, so the wound was gaping open. The wound was dirty, infected, and oozing. Loose stitch threads were inside the gaping wound, with some sticking out like long splinters. It was the perfect storm of negligence. They sent her home like this. When we called them on it and called for help, they turned a blind eye like we didnt exist and left us to figure out what to do on our own. We ended-up taking Cakes to Diley Emergency Clinic, who were fabulous. They properly shaved and cleaned her up as seen in Picture 7, but what you cant see is the incision glue they later put on her to close her wound. Picture 8 is Cakes 1 day after visiting Diley: Her wound properly closed, scabbed, and healing. The day after visiting Diley, the staff at Diley Clinic called to see how Cakes was doing. Even to the time of the writing and posting of this review (the evening of four days later), our now-fired vet still has neither finished reading the facebook post they started reading where I pleaded for help, nor have they returned my call, nor have they called to see how Cakes fared in their wake.

If I could rate this vet higher than 5 stars, I would. I also very rarely do Google reviews...But this vet needs to be recognized for their amazing service!! I have a year old German Shepherd who has been limping since he was about 4 months old. Its always been his front paws. I had taken him to village vet in pataskala. They have diagnosed him multiple times with " growing pains" which is common for GSD. I had taken him back to then to have them look again as his symptoms had only been getting worse. The vet (cant remember her name) was HORRIBLE. My dog was barking at her so she timidly walked into the room (which everyone knows makes dogs bark even more...) and had him muzzled...And then half ass looked at his front paws (didnt look at his back legs or really look at the rest of him) and just said its growing pains. This was the second time I had taken him back to her...You would think she would have done a more thorough inspection since not only did she charge me, but this had been his second visit for same issue. I was given more pain meds and sent home. Recently my dog has been limping and not putting pressure on his rear leg. I decided to take him back to Indian Creek as my family usually uses this vet. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING experience. They scheduled me specially with Dr. Ingrid who specializes in German Shepherds. She came into the room and immediately noticed Loki was uneasy. Instead of acting shy and putting a muzzle on him, she sat down on the floor!! She took her time to get him to warm up to her and took her time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly look at him. She was incredibly honest with her diagnosis and stated that he needed to see a specialist for possible hip dysplasia. She and her assistant gave me tons of information and options of great surgeons etc. I cannot thank her enough for not having me do x-rays there, fully knowing that the orthopedic surgeon would want to do their own. She was honest, down to earth, and actually took the time and cared about my dog and his well being. just know if you bring your animals here, they will be getting the best care. Thank you Dr. Ingrid and team!

Ive been coming to Indian Creek since 1995. I have confidence in their being able to care for my dogs and they respect the animals & owners. They listen to my concerns and I feel we have a team approach to dealing with any issues. They want to know what Ive seen and they apply their knowledge from there. Sadly we had to put our first dog down 5 years ago and if youve ever been through that..... Every one of the staff were empathetic and handled it with much love and caring. I came back with two more dogs the next year which I wouldnt have done if I wasnt sure of them!

Our dogs started with Dr. John when he was an intern with another vet in Powell. We moved to the eastside and looked him up. Twenty or so years later, we consider the entire team at Indian Creek our vets. From the emergency surgery for our clumsy puppy who tore his lip on the ice, to well-care, to pet bird care, and finally to the compassion when we had to say goodbye to our dogs, they have been wonderful.

The vets and staff at Indian Creek are top notch! Weve been going to their office for over 16 years and have seen us through new puppies and kitties all the way to senior pet moments. I always feel like my pets have the best care and are in the best hands when they are there. We moved about a half hour away from their office with many vets closer to us, but we continue to drive to see them.
