I took my son for a follow-up appointment for acne. The prescription she had given him caused a strong skin burn and he was unable to use it more than twice. During the follow-up visit I wanted her to give him a different prescription that was as effective, but didnt burn. Without listening to what I said she recommended a product that she said was milder, but may not work. I was disappointed to hear since weve been dealing with this acne for a couple of years and have tried numerous over the counter acne treatments. I asked her if she would recommend something AS effective as the previous but without the side-effects. Again she repeated herself and said shed only recommend the mild one. I asked her if there was something mid-range without the side-effects and she said yes, but would only recommend the mild one which may not work. I was very frustrated with her response. Shes getting paid good money for these visits only to tell me of ONE suggestion of a mild prescription that may not work. This was our second visit in two months. So far no results. She was extremely rushed as her office was busting at the seams with people waiting to be seen. She was quickly out of patience and walked out. If I had to put my complaint in one line, it will be "TOO BUSY TO CARE!". She may be great, but we couldnt see it or even sense it. We got zero results from the two visits. As she was walking out she also recommended we use Cerave products. Really? I spent all this effort, time and money to visit her, only to be told to use Cerave? Weve been using Cerave and Cetaphil for over two years without a trace of improvement. But, I had no chance to tell her that because she was out the door by then. I wouldnt mind long waits if we were getting great advice, professional and ethical service and results. But the fact that we got nothing but a headache and a bill is very frustrating and disappointing.

I started seeing Dr. Cohn for problems with my skin, which turned out to be eczema. She knew right away and prescribed me an ointment and antihistamines, which have helped greatly. When I needed an appointment for the first time, she got me in on that same exact day! This staff is AMAZING and always managing to keep the customers happy! I enjoy every appointment I have with Dr. Cohn, as I feel that she truly cares about her patients and it is always great to catch up with her!!! I am SOOO glad that my aunt recommended that I see Dr. Cohn! Ive seen another dermatologist prior to finding Advanced Dermatology and that prior experience was horrible, as that dermatologist looked at my eczema for 2 minutes, told me he had no idea what it was and then told me to schedule another appointment with him in 2 weeks. I was disgusted and knew he only wanted that copay money, so I didnt even show up. I waited an entire year before I would even attempt to see another dermatologist, because I thought it would be the same type of negative experience. My aunt had always told me about Monique and how great she is, so I decided to give Advanced Dermatology a chance, and I am SO glad that I did. Even though I was nervous coming into a new situation, Monique was so sweet, outgoing, patient, kind and caring. She actually takes time to talk to the patients and always asks how Im doing and we chat for a few minutes as I update her on my life. She never rushes through our appointment and that is something I love about having her as my dermatologist. My experience at Advanced Dermatology was the total opposite from my prior experience. Monique is wonderful and I HIGHLY recommend her!!! I can honestly say that I LOVE this place and the professional staff!!!! Thanks for all that you guys do! Know that you are appreciated and keep up the great work!!! -Rachele

I recently relocated to the area and was looking for a dermatologist who would take a more integrative approach with treatment. I am 30 years old with a longstanding history of treatment-resistant acne. Given that Id like to get pregnant in the near future, I was specifically looking for a practitioner who would help to eliminate pharmaceutical interventions. My twin sister (who has similar skin problems) recently had great success with an "integrative" dermatologist (MD) in Massachusetts, who ran lab work exploring specific vitamin levels (e.g., zinc, vitamin B, etc.) and also investigated different lifestyle changes to reduce acne. Together, they came up with a truly holistic treatment approach that has been quite effective. I sought out Dr. Cohn given that her website notes that she provides "A Holistic Approach: We will focus on your health and you as a whole person, not just your skin." This statement is blatantly false advertising and should be removed from her website. When I explained that antibiotics have been ineffective in the past, she cut me off and noted "well -- they work for 99% of people". When I asked her if there were any preventative strategies I could try instead of medications and tried to explain my desire to limit medication use, she noted "well -- youre already on preventative treatments (2 topical gels). I could give you antibiotics but if you get pregnant, your baby could have birth defects and you dont want that do you?" Her condescending tone and question suggested that she had not even listened to my concerns nor did she have any desire to discuss nonpharmaceutical strategies. In sum, if you desire a more holistic approach to treatment, take your money and your time elsewhere.

Not a very helpful doctor. I came in for acne problems and she didnt really help. The trips to her office were pointless. I would wait in the waiting room for a couple hours. When I finally got to the room I would wait another 15 minutes. She would come in look at my face, vaguely explain the issue and walk out giving me a prescription that ended up being expensive and burned my face. When I would come to her to ask for a different medication she would tell me the one I am using now is fine, its okay if it burns my face, the burning should go away in a week. I didnt feel welcome or important in her office (maybe thats me being self entitled, but I think doctors should know their patients and show genuine care for them). I stopped going to her and just used home remedies and other cleansers on the store shelf instead and my face felt a lot better. I am not sure if she is just out for money or something, but if my case of acne wasnt severe she couldve recommended something over the counter or some home remedies instead of making me pay buttloads for a cream that only harmed my face more. I understand some people require harsh creams and lotions, etc. but it wouldve been nice to have a doctor that doesnt immediately give you a script for medications and one who listens to your concerns!

I have been here 3 times and my wife once. I have on average waited over 60 minutes between my initially appointment time and seeing a doctor. The waiting room is ALWAYS packed. They schedule poorly. Just because they have competent doctors, does not mean they have good customer service. I showed up 20 minutes late. The admin at the front desk awkwardly confronted me and told me I was late with a blank stare. I reminded here of the 4 other times that my family has spent over 6 hours of our time waiting for them. A gentlemen came over and said I would have to wait an additional 20 minutes. I understood that but he continued to speak out of turn and tell me that in a round about way that its OK for them to make me wait, but its not OK for them to wait for me. I had a family issue that made me late and the fact that they made a bad situation embarrassing and awkward in front of a full waiting room was difficult to stomach. He then said they were no longer honoring there appointment and asked me to leave. Haber Dermatology never did this to me. Although his office is an additional 20 minutes away. I will be going back. I run a sales company and have 3 kids. They made it very clear that their time is more valuable than my time, my families time, and my companies time.
