If you need physical therapy, it only makes sense to find the best physical therapists available to ensure you have the best outcome. They need to be knowledgeable, encouraging and yet able to push you to reach goals you didnt think were possible. I found that and more at ProActive Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy-Canby. The first thing I noticed was that everyone from the check in desk up to the Clinic director were friendly and had genuine smiles. They laughed and joked with each other and the clients. There was an unmistakable, clear attitude of "Were glad you are here and dont worry. We will get through this together." They clearly enjoyed working together and found great fulfillment from their jobs. Over the years, they have treated me through a number of injury and post-op physical therapy sessions. Ive had physical therapy for my ankles, shoulders, thumbs, back, hands and knees. The first treatment I had from them was to regain movement I lost through multiple sprains over the years (mostly while playing basketball). I sprained my ankles a total of 9 times in one summer alone. I lost -15° flexion in one ankle and -10° in the other. Since PT was taking place 10 years after the summer of multiple sprains, I didnt have much hope for any significant Improvement. Yet, somehow the staff at Proactive helped me regain10° flexion in one ankle and 5° in the other. Recently they treated me as post-op for my knee replacement. They were very encouraging even when I was discouraged by setbacks due to problems with my IT band. There were a couple of weeks where they could only massage my knee because of intense pain and sensitivity. My therapists, Tyler, Rebecca and Michelle, along with their assistants were empathetic and helped me believe that I would get through it. Rebecca even challenged me to change my mind set from referring to my left knee as the "bad knee" to the "surgically repaired" knee. When I told her I didnt think I could do some activity, she asked, "How do you know, have you tried it"? She also encouraged me to remember that this knee will allow me to do things that I havent been able to do for years. Rebecca was right, I can squat. I had not been able to do that for 12 years! My doctor had a goal of 125° but I am at 135°! Going through physical therapy is a tough job. It can be humbling and frustrating. You owe it to yourself to surround yourself with people who genuinely care about you as a person first and are then willing do whatever it takes for you to reach, or even exceed your goal. My only complaint would be that they dont offer chocolate as a reward for "graduating" (almost like being released, or pardoned from your PT sentence). After graduating as often as I have, that is a policy in need of change. Rebecca said that she agrees. Tyler, it us up to you now. Earl S.

My experience at proactive physical therapy in Canby has been nothing short of life altering. The therapists here are like magician demigods with one purpose in life: anatomical restoration; and holy mother of sharp cheddar meatballs are they good at it. I had foot surgery that pretty much ruined everything I know about life. Had I known it would be this bad, I would have bolted out the surgeons door without looking back. Although, my surgeon was spot on that this needed to happen. Despite the agonizing torment that is my every day, the professionals at PPTC make this more manageable. My PT is [insert name] and he/she is the reason I get up in the morning...literally. If I have a hard day, I even get stickers. Where else does that happen? Nowhere, thats where. I now have three stickers on my phone case. Im a 25 year old male with a beard and Ive never been so stoked about stickers in my life. They represent so much more than colorful adhesive that will be impossible to remove later. They represent hard work. They represent health care providers that love what they do and who they work with. They represent a facility dedicated to getting your worthless, broken, injured, and delapitated sack of flesh moving healthily again. If you come here and have anything less to say than what I said, then you are wrong and stupid. Make the right decision. Choose health. Choose you. Choose Proactive.

Going to Proactive Physical Therapy after my hip replacement surgery was definitely helpful and not a waste of time. I enjoyed the complete agenda on each visit - warm up, work out, massage, ice and heat packs. I saw a wide variety of injuries being treated there as well. And the staff, every one of them was very cordial and knowledgeable. I especially loved my doctor of physical therapy - Rebecca Nelson. She was not only super knowledgeable, but very caring as well, and wanted me to regain mobility safely, but also challenged me to try harder. I would positively use Canby Proactive for future therapy needs and recommend them to anyone needing physical therapy.

Ive been going to ProActive in Canby for quite a while now and can not say enough good things about the staff. I personally see Rebecca and she is such a breath of fresh air. She pushes me to my limit and then some (which is needed for my recovery) but is also so caring and just delightful to interact with in general. The staff create such an uplifting and fun environment and truly listen to their clients. Even though its painful to go to physical therapy after surgery and a long recovery- I find myself looking forward to it because of the friendship I have found in the staff. Thank you for all your hard work ProActive!

I have been to PT several times over the years. Several months ago I fell while trimming a tree. After surgery I tried a different clinic for convenience. One visit and I called ProActive PT (Canby)! Within one week the pain level dropped, two visits I had more movement than I expected. The staff greets you warmly, welcomes you into the therapy room with a smile and then ... knows which exercises and treatments will restore movement and strengthen your body. Laughter and encouragement make the road to recovery more pleasant. ProActive PT (Canby) is the only choice for me!!

I have had great success with improvement of my back and hip injury. Rebecca was very professional and the care and exercises have been very successful in healing. I appreciate Rebecca and the team at Proactive Therapy. I have been there three times in the past 8 years and recommend anyone who has injuries, related to sports, work or accidents to check them out. I have recommended my friends and the staff that I work with. They are a great and caring team of professional therapists. Nicolle J. I have been coming to ProActive Physical Therapy for approximately a year now and my experience has been great. I have had the opportunity of being treated by Michelle and I have to say she is amazing! She is always very professional and knowledgeable and takes wonderful care of the people she comes into contact with. This is my fourth knee surgery and I wish I would have attended ProActive Physical Therapy long ago. I have and will continue to recommend ProActive to everyone! Thank you for all you do Michelle, have a great day! R. Coleman

I have been going to proactive for a few weeks now on a work injury. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and is committed to helping in any way they can to reduce pain and increase functionality. Rebecca has been a fantastic physical therapist and has really committed to helping me recover and strengthen my injury to return to work as soon as possible. I would recommend proactive physical therapy to anyone in need of a positive, welcoming environment to recover. Thanks proactive!
