My husband went to the ER and was told he would have to have his appendix removed. It turned out that he had much more done to him, removing a part of the bowel and small intestine so needless to say he walked out on his own 2 weeks later. After being in a peatree dish for 3 days he got pneumonia from another patient. Here is the complaint in room 217 the heater would NOT turn off. I told the staff about this repeatedly and was told they had contacted maintenance, a week later I asked so when is maintenance going to fix the heater? We will check, I was told. Nothing ever happened. I will add that we were also told not to open the windows as it was against the rules. My husband was required to tell the nurse every time he was going to the bathroom, so why is that stool and urine would remain in the toilet for hours? Disgusting. Because my husband had gotten pneumonia everyone was required to wear masks and wash their hands before entering the his room; however his door was always left wide open so germs could get in. Not only that the nurses and other staff rarely washed their hands or wore their masks!! As his wife, I would have loved to stay with my husband 24 hours a day. Never at any time was I offered a comfortable place to sleep to be near my husband. After a week of being there I accidentally found the family kitchen (after looking for coffee in the middle of the night for a week). The day before my husband left I was asked by a nurse if I was staying the night. Really? It took 2 weeks? My husband also asked to speak to a Chaplin and never seen anyone. There is so much more I could say but I think you get the point. I am sure you are wondering why I would even give the hospital 2 stars. Well, I would say about 50% of the staff was professional and courteous and did a great job. My hope is that some day everyone will be at 100% and that Lebanon will get a new hospital. I think putting $11 million dollars into the old structure is an expensive Bandaid!! Personally, I think the priority should be in PROPERLY training the staff.

My experiences have been nightmarish at best at this "hospital. They couldnt diagnose cancer for months when all it would have taken was sending the blood test on to a real hospital(which they did after 2 months of weekly blood draws). By then the cancer was stage 3. Had a friends healthy 20 something son fall down while jogging, all they did was ship off to corvallis and prep him to be nothing more than an organ donor(never even trying to notify his family of which there are many, it took his mothers sherlock holmes skills to find him. They never seem to understand the whole "wash your hands before touching a cancer patient" and literally dropped a chest valve port on the filthy floor and were going to place it on cancer patients chest....seriously. The nightmare stories from both my generation and my parents age locals(who all make their kids promise to either let the die or get them to any other hospital just not the horrorshow one in lebanon. If you or a loved ones life is in danger take them literally anywhere else in oregon to a different hospital. Its always filthy and third world looking(i dont care how many millions of dollars you spent on the stupid bamboo garden(how about invest that in hiring real nurses and doctors, not the old tweekers and their kin who seem to have those titles). It like a mentally challenged persons idea of what a hospital is....parking lot, gift shop, incompetent staff, or worse evil ones. (how many patients does a incompetent doctor have to kill before he is fired?? well the one i am thinking of has murdered at least 10 that i know of yet their is his smug face in a photo on the wall. No seriously if i, who dropped out of high school to get my G.E.D(second highest score ever when i took it) can diagnose cancer and or heart problems before the docs can well that just says it all. NEVER go here unless you are trying to get rid of a friend or relative for good. period.

"Good Samaritan" my ass, my 75 year old grandmother who has dementia and Parkinsons disease was brought in to this ER by ambulance yesterday after she broke her leg after which she was DISCHARGED WITH NO CAST AND TOLD TO "WALK ON IT"!! I brought her back today after she took several more falls and was complaining her leg hurt and they discharged her again after stating they would not admit her unless she broke something else or got an infection from falling since they sent her home, I then asked for help getting her into the car which got an attitude from the lady at the reception desk and an argument which she tried to claim they cant help her into the car (but also wont admit her or send her to a nursing home wtf?). Finally they sent this nurse out to help who then wanted to start a fight in the parking lot with me. So "good Samaritan" they are NOT, avoid if at all possible. I have warned them I will be documenting every single fall my grandma takes after this and any more injuries I will be SUING them for!

Dont come in here with valid pain. Theyll treat you like an addict. The ER Registrar and triage nurse are awesome. Charge nurse and doctor that was there today SUCKS! No sensitivity or compassion whatsoever and glared at me with a smirk. They definitely treated me as though I was an addict. I came in with blood pressure of 154/95 and heart rate of 133bpm. Obviously I was hurting and had valid pain. They could care less and said theyll give me motrin. I walked out and they didnt even care to check my vitals before I left which were CLEARLY high. First time and last time Ill EVER come here.

Just recently I have had to take my mother to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital quite a few times. I cannot tell you how much their entire staff has improved in the last year. They are patient, friendly and polite. Although I have found some of the doctors to be a bit overbearing, its more often that they are exceptional. I want to take the time to thank all of the staff for the care that they gave my mother ( and myself) and especially the nursing staff. I will always appreciate your making time when I called and appreciated your attention that you gave to my mother.

In 2004 my father was taken to Lebanon Hospital with back pains. Without doing any tests he was quickly diagnosed as having a "pinched nerve". He was given some powerful pain killers and sent home. He slept for most of the last three days of his life before he awoke in more pain than ever. Was taken back to LH where they realized he had blood clots. They called 911 to transport him to another hospital where he died. We sued and won. If you have ANY other options besides this place go somewhere else if you value the life of yourself or loved one.
