My family and I signed up for primary care coverage at the Portland Clinic several years ago. We have had too many bad experiences to count. The most recent being that my son fractured his hand and so his PCP referred him to a Portland Clinic orthopedic surgeon who, after looking at the hand and realizing that it had been fractured but was already well on its way to being healed, sent us to a physical therapist next door, who then built him a brace for his hand, even after he said he didnt want it and would probably not use it. Then we get a great big bill from the Portland Clinic for the brace. I called their billing department and spoke to both an CSR and her supervisor, both of whom were curt and dismissive and did very little to help. We have had so many problems with the PCP being late to the appointment, on several occasions upwards of 45 minutes, but routinely a half hour, and despite their abysmal record there was ONE time I got to the clinic about three minutes after my scheduled appointment and the woman at the reception desk spent well over five minutes with the person in front of me and when she got to me it was almost ten minutes after my appointment time and she refused to allow me to be seen. I had to reschedule! If you have low expectations or dont have to go to the doctor very often then the PC would probably be fine, but otherwise I would strongly urge looking elsewhere.

I just got off the phone with Dr. Bowens office to confirm my appontment in 8 days. I also wanted to confirm their physical address in Tigard. I was just told that my August 12 appointment was cancelled because the doctor was out of town that week. I set this appointment almost two months ago. I was told by the receptionist that they tried to call me to cancel the appointment. When asked what number they called? I was given a telephone number that wasnt even close to mine which started with the wrong area code. I then asked if there was another podiatrist in the office that could see me that day? I was told that the other podiatrist is also on vacation that week. So, I said to her, if I had not called you today to confirm the appointment, I would have raced across town for my appointment next week only to find no one there to see me. CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE! You people suck! Not only will I find another podiatrist and never set foot (no pun intended) in your establishment, I will make sure to repeat this story to anyone who will listen. I wish I could just give your office zero stars. Better yet, I wish there was a way to give less than that and two middle fingers for your customer service. I hope Dr. Bowen actually reads this review!

Terrible! Very sad. My wife has been ill for 4 straight months. She is scared that she is dying because she has no answers and has been so weak and in pain for so long she is giving up hope. Doctor Clifford Cooper (Internal Medicine) refused to see or treat my wife today as a new patient unless I would leave the room during the exam. We have been married 25 years and my wife is scared! How dare he tell her and I that he won’t see her unless I leave the room during the exam. There is no history of physical or mental abuse, drugs or marital problems ZERO! I can see not one good reason to refuse an exam when the patient is begging, pleading for her husband to stay and be with her. I think perhaps he is a creepy man that gets off on being alone with women. We could NEVER recommend him to anyone. My wife left without an exam and has been sobbing all afternoon saying "I am so tired of being sick" I think Dr. Cooper is mentally deranged and sick!

Well, if you have insurance and use this office, be sure to check with your insurance to see if the procedure you are going in for is covered, as this clinic will NOT tell you... Went for a sleep study that ended up costing me over $1300 only because the procedure was not covered by insurance, which I sadly found out after the fact. Usually, you are notified well in advance, but not with this group of brilliant minds! Cha-CHING!!! However, if you are looking for the closest thing to a pill mill in the area, this is it! They have no problem prescribing you whatever you like for maladies you may (or may not) have! Need a diet pill that might interact poorly with another medication you might be on? NO Problem-o! They dont even check for adverse reactions!!! Need Testosterone shots for a stress-related health condition? Bang! There you go!

Please be aware that the billing department will fight against the insurance company on getting paid. The doctors provide great service but Portland Clinic will not work with your insurance company. If you have been going there for years you will be fine, but I switched from Providence, Doctor got promoted, to Portland clinic and ended up paying over $1000 for the same services that my insurance company paid for at Providence. Sad because my Doctor was great but cant afford to pay out of pocket for all services, when I have excellent insurance. FYI: Portland Clinic and the Insurance Company were on the phone at the same time and they still wouldnt work to find a solution.

I agree with the reviewers who complained about the rude and unprofessional staff. I see Dr. Khine in the GI Department and like my doctor. However, it is impossible to get anything accomplished when dealing with his unprofessional staff. I have currently been without a medicine I need for nearly one week because Dr. Khines staff messed up a preauthorization request. When you call, no one bothers to return a phone call. No one responds to messages on MyChart. Presently, I am looking for another provider because I am tired of this office. I have excellent insurance and can take my business elsewhere, since they obviously dont care about keeping me as a patient.

Went in for first appointment Got there early, and was seen 20 minutes late... no apologies. The assistant was unfriendly almost to the point of being rude. The worse part of the appointment was the doc, Dr John Martin. I see a specialist for high BP and he was actually telling me to do things that would negatively affect my health And then suggested a test I did not need AFTER I had told him what the specialist said. I have had many doctors in my life but never imagined one like him... Bored, contradictory, uninterested, unless its his way, and in a big hurry.... after being late.
