I started taking my three kids to Lockman & Lubell when we moved into the area a few years ago. It has been a challenge since the beginning. First the positives: I can usually get a sick visit the same day if I can get the kids there during normal business hours, but often times my kids get sick (very sick) after they are closed. The doctors Ive seen, Ive liked. Dr. Lubell and Dr. Lockman are good doctors and the one Nurse Practicioner they have is very good. I cant recall her name. Now the bad: The office itself needs some serious updating- the wait area is usually dirty. It needs a good scrubbing. The front desk staff is almost always short, unfriendly and their phone manner needs some serious work. The worst thing that happened to us though was that they double vaccinated my son for somewhere in the neighborhood of five vaccines. We came in for one he was missing, they insisted he was missing five, and I asked them to triple check, they insisted that he needed five and gave him FIVE, four of which were duplicates. I was called by the school nurse later that week to alert me to what they had done when she got the vaccine records from the county. Lockman and Lubell didnt even apologize. Their office manager was actually a little rude to me about it like it was somehow my fault. After that, I avoided taking my kids there unless absolutely necessary and we used urgent care for any illnesses. I recently took my son back for an appt. They called the day before and asked me to come in early to accommodate the doctors schedule, and I did, and took my son out of school. We got there, we paid our co-pay, and then we sat in the room waiting for the doctor for nearly an hour and not once did anyone come in to tell us hed be in soon. My son had to get back to school, so I left. I called later and the office manager called me, again, how she is the office manager, I have no idea. She was so rude to me. I told her we paid our co-pay, we sat and she didnt apologize. She gave me a hard time because my kids hadnt been there in a while (after the vaccine incident, would you?) and said that there is always a wait for Dr. Lockman. It was so insulting. They also never refunded my $20 co-pay. I did receive a call from Dr. Lockman later that day and I appreciated that. Unfortunately at that point there were too many strikes and I would not work with this practice again.

My son has been going here for over a year and my experience has been pretty horrible. To be honest, the nurse practitioners are pretty good but its impossible to get a call back or a same day appointment, the front wait area is super stressful, the staff are super rude. To me, this office is like a treadmill and they dont know your kid at all, the staff dont even pretend to smile or like children or parents. When you call, they have no idea you have called about a sick child earlier in the day. I cant say many nice things about this place at all. The rooms where your child is seen are lack luster and need a little paint and some toys or something! This place is just not family or child friendly. I do not recommended this place at all.

We have been bringing our twins here since they came home from the NICU 12 years ago. Many of their friends at school also come here. All of the doctors are great (as well as their PA, Michelle). The staff can be hit or miss, but once they get to know you, they really are helpful. We have never had a problem getting in the same day if one of our girls is sick. Callbacks on tests are scarce, but I find that with most practices these days. I am not sure what happened to the previous reviewer, but we have been happy with this practice.

Weve visited all of the doctors, physicians assistants, and nurse practitioners, and love everyone here. In particular, Michelle Wade was extraordinarily supportive of my decision to nurse my son, even though he wasnt gaining weight as quickly as we would have liked. I would recommend all of the physicians in the practice to anyone in the area looking for a pediatrician.

Worst front desk staff EVER! Arrived early for appointment and was left waiting over 30 minutes past my scheduled time. When asked how much longer I was going to have to wait, the desk told me about an hour!! They act as if they are the ones doing you a favor..is it really so hard to call appointments if your Dr. is running behind schedule?????

rude personnel, poor accommodation for sick-appointments, superficial medical checks, lack of call-back discipline for tests - not impressed with this practice
