Abrupt and deficient! I went to see Dr. Barak at Main Line Dermatology for skin related issues on my face. I was thoroughly disappointed and will never return to this office. First off, he seemed to have been in a rush from the moment he walked in the door. He asked the reason for my visit and as I began explaining, his phone chimed and told me to hold on for a second. I had to wait until his was finished reading his text/email to proceed. I told him I thought I had a skin disease known as KP. Before even looking at me, he told me I did not have it. He then proceeded to look at my face for maybe 5 seconds and told me “I THINK it’s acne, let’s get you medicated”. He did not ask ANYTHING about my daily routine, lifestyle habits, cleansers or soap, makeup, laundry detergent, stress, etc. I also told him that I work outside everyday and that this problem clears up 100% in the summer. He did not seem the least bit concerned about my daily sun exposure. In fact, I had to bring up the subject of a full body check. He said he could not do it today but when I come back for my check-up in 3 months. I had even filled out paperwork beforehand that asked if anyone in my family has/had skin cancer and I replied yes. He then wrote the prescriptions, told me when to use them and left the room. The whole visit was under 4-5 minutes. I am extremely upset that the outcome to the visit was prescription written after a few seconds of examination with no background information. It really upsets me how our health care system works. I was given medication with very harsh potential side effects both internally and externally. Dr. Barak was not at all interested in exploring alternative options such as diet change, environmental factors or potential irritants. He was only interested to writing his prescriptions so that he can get his paycheck.

Although the doctor was professional, the front desk staff was and are absolutely horrendous. Not only were they unprofessional, they were incredibly rude and lazy. It took two weeks to get an answer in regards to a preauthorization on a prescription I needed, but in order for me to even get an answer I had to call them a total of 8 times within a week to actually get them to not only answer me but do their job. Each time I had to call twice for them to actually pick up the phone. When I contacted my pharmacy to see what the hold up was they told me they had sent the form to the office THREE times. When I called to check what was going on they informed me I needed to get my insurance to send them a form, I promptly called them and had them fax over the information, and I was told by the office they had received and would wait for the doctors approval, I waited a total of 4 days before contacting because I had not heard back. When I called I once again had to call twice and to be put on hold for 15+ mins WITH NO ANSWER, LEAVING ME ON HOLD, I had to hang up because I was entering an appointment. While I was on hold, I had a family member call and they were put through the same process, but was finally given an answer, alas! But the answer was that the insurance denied it and they immediately hung up on her. Rather than go through the same process I contacted my primary doctor, who was able to help me with my prescription. Their jobs are to not only help with scheduling but work with any issues concerning the patients, these people do not do that. All in all, I would not recommend anyone go to this dermatologist, there are plenty of others within West Chester that have both great doctors and terrific/attentive staff this one lacks any.

I scheduled two new patient visits for my children and waited three weeks for the visit. Upon arriving at the office, my son and daughter were told to take off everything but their underwear. Dr. Androkite came in, treated the wart on my daughters foot, then had my son stand up and looked at his back. He is very blonde with a buzz cut, 8 years old and swims all summer. She did not look at his head, fingers, toes, feet, hands..didnt lift his arms, legs and did not check around his underwear lining. Then she told them to get dressed. Surprised, I reminded her that she hadnt looked over my 9 year old daughter, who is also fair and blonde. Dr. Androkite said she would check her in a month when she returns for more treatment for the wart on her foot. Very upset, I explained that I made an appointment, waited three weeks and that my daughter hadnt been checked in two years. Unmoved by my parental concern she said that we could wait another month. Why did my daughter undress? I can only assume that we had the appointment for her to be checked, but when the doctor became busy she gave no mind to our convenience or concern and felt that it was more convenient for my daughter to be checked in another month. I will NEVER return and have never witnessed such poor patient care. I will obviously be having my son rechecked, as she hardly gave him an adequate check. Its experiences like these that remind me that there is hardly enough appropriate patient support and retaliation and doctors such as this should not be able to practice.

Professional & Efficient - I read Cates review and wanted to respond as a long time patient. Ive been a patient for 15 years and since moving to the Wrights Lane location in West Chester, have found the office to be nothing short of organized, professional and efficient. Once signed in, they know who you are, who youre seeing and the time you were scheduled. Again, I have always been treated both by the staff and the Dr. efficiently and professionally and not as if at a social event. I have become very cordial with my doctor as he has handled my many issues over the years. Generally, I have had prescriptions either handed to me in person or called in to my local CVS of preference. I cant speak to Cathys experience, however above would be my evaluation and Im fairly picky overall. Hope this helps.

The staff is always rude. Customer service is awful. They do not have any computerized scheduling system which means that they use this old book to schedule, which also means they cant check on any upcoming appointments. They dont give reminder cards to leave with and only call you the day before. So if you schedule someone a year in advance, youd better either have a great memory or put it down in your phone and hope that you dont lose your schedule (which happened to me). When i called to see when my appointment was scheduled for, they couldnt find it out! Oh... and when the doctor actually removes something from you, expect a good size scar.

The worst office staff of any doctors office I have ever been to. So many reviews say this and anyone I know who goes there says the same. So why hasnt it been corrected? Do they care so little about their patients that they cannot correct the situation? All that needs to be done is a manager needs to tell the staff to be polite and attentive. Thats all. And not being able to call in a prescription? Every other office does it. They sit around and talk to each other instead of taking care of the patients. If the doctors werent so good, there would be no patients.
