My father-in-law just escaped from this concentration camp for the elderly! While I am sure there are SOME good staff people there, the majority are lazy, ignorant and inconsiderate. Equipment is greatly outdated (remember CRANK beds?!), rooms are tiny and cramped, no effort has been made to even make the general appearance decent! Seriously, anyone ever heard of a fresh coat of paint? He arrived late in the day- neither the receptionist nor anyone on the floor he was assigned to knew there was a new patient coming in (we were told that morning, by the hospital staff). Get off the elevator- total chaos. Get to the room- bed not made up, complete lack of organization in the process of initial assessment; AND, the other side of the room contained a bed with a deflated air mattress covered in blood stains of various ages. Needless to say the former occupant was not coming back! We clearly told everyone who bothered to listen (all 2 of them maybe?) that he had late stage alzheimers, but still knew when he had to go to the bathroom and would try to get up on his own to do that. There was no place for side rails on the bed, so they put down some very thin pads and installed a bed alarm. A few days later, they decide that he is a "wanderer" and transfer him to the special alzheimers floor. (given his main diagnosis, should he not have gone there from the start?). This was really no better, and in fact he was given a roommate who moaned loudly all the time- great for the man who sleeps 20 hours a day. Transferred him back to the original floor last night, different room- no rails, no bed alarm, no pads- and when we pointed this out to the staff, they just said he had a special "scooped" mattress and should be fine. Sure enough- he fell on his way to the bathroom during the night, and now has a giant black eye! Thank GOD he is now in a different facility. I wouldnt send my DOG to a place like this one!!!

I worked there. Very poor Director of Nursing and the Administrator. God bless those poor residents and overworked staff. I am so happy to see they are getting fined $2 million for NEGLECT!

The quality of care varies greatly. The majority of the staff is very helpful. A small minority needs improvement.
