My very first prenatal appointment was enjoyable, other than the ultrasound, as the LPN who spoke to my husband and I made me feel like BMH would be a good place to labor at. Although my last ultrasound was much better, it is disconcerting when your are a FTM and the tech looks at the screen in concentration (but to me concern of course) but does not talk at all or very little during the ultrasound to help us understand what they are looking for, what we are seeing, etc. Two of the three pictures they printed in my first ultrasound were very blurry- not sure why as our little one was pretty still often enough. Unfortunately, after the visit all of my other visits had me seeing a different person each time who pretty much asked me generic questions and sent me on my way. I was advised very little on nutrition, and I was never asked how I was doing other than physically. What I was most upset with was the first time I asked for a blood test, the order was put in and my blood was drawn but in my next visit the results were not "in". When I followed up with the next visit, I was told that the test was never run as that was not an option through BMH. Infuriated, I had to go to LabCorp directly for the requested test. I had to inquire about things like "is my weight on schedule?" otherwise it was never brought up. once when I asked again at the end of my appointment, as it had not yet been addressed, the nurse had forgotten to write down my weight and I had to tell her what it had read during the visit. When I would request a print out of my documents from the previous appointment, I had to review my notes to make sure that everything that pertained to the visit was actually printed, as the majority of the time everything that pertained to the visit was in fact not printed until I asked something like "shouldnt I have something that shows I am actually pregnant? (First time requesting documentation I was only provided information regarding my vitals...really?) I was advised to leave a message for the manager, which I did, but never heard back from her. I am transferring my care to Charleston with hopes of more one on one care.

Nurses are miserable and they treat you like a number instead of a real person!! If you call them they take there sweet time or they just dont call you at all. Honestly think that they are overwhelmed
