We came to Van Crest for a 2nd opinion, after being told the jaundiced stray-wed-been-feeding urgently required a $1400 blood transfusion (non-curative) elsewhere. Since then, that stray has become a bonafide house cat, and weve used Van Crest for overnight veterinary care, follow-ups, and boarding. They are EXCELLENT. We know we have them to thank for saving our new pet, since a blood transfusion likely would have stressed his body beyond recovery and the other vets diagnosis was really off-track. The prices at Van Crest have been absolutely reasonable, and Dr. Chambers is very thorough AND careful. He has always taken time to explain things, even following-up on his day off when he knew we were worried. My husbands immediate observation: Van Crests facilities are much cleaner than other clinics weve visited. Its apparent, upon walking in, but most importantly in the exam rooms, too. With two other cats, weve been to several vets in town, and that alone would be worth recommendation, but the staff at Van Crest is also genuine, friendly, helpful & professional. (Instead of loud, distracted or brusque... and they have never once tried to pressure us or seemed impatient with requests and questions.) They handled our nervous pet-to-be very gently and offered to clean his carrier while we were waiting. // More specifically: Dr. Chambers explanation of the symptoms was that a common infection led to anemia, which stressed the liver, producing jaundice. Since the treatment was inexpensive AND there would be no adverse side-effects, we agreed to put our cat on that program while we awaited test results. Our cat responded immediately, and the test results soon confirmed it. However, Dr. Chambers had been careful not to get our hopes up prematurely, and qualified his statements. He told us how we could proceed if he his theory wasnt right, which we really appreciated. The little stray is now one of our beloved house cats thanks to Van Crest, and they have become our favorite provider. The total of all tests, treatments and services has not nearly approached $1400, and were happy to recommend them. Each time were there, we see mostly dog owners, with dogs of all ages and breeds, and everyone is well-received and seems happy to be seen. The staff is great--Id name names but theyre all wonderful so theres no need. We feel really blessed to have found such excellent veterinary care, just in time. 5 stars, all the way. Theyre wonderful!

Prior to realizing how Van Crest treats boarded animals, we had boarded our dog there several times. Upon picking her up from Van Crest the last time, she was returned to us in a sickening condition. She completely reeked of urine and had a film covering her coat. Her white paws where also stained a yellow tint. After realizing that her condition could only have been the result of having spent days in her own urine, we contacted the owner/vet to get some answers. He told us that, while he isn’t there over the weekends, the technicians told him that our dog had “wet her cage overnight” and that they normally bathe the dogs prior to sending them home (probably to hid how the animals are treated). The condition our dog was in was the result of having spent NUMEROUS days in urine. One accident could not have left her in such a condition. Although we were refunded our money, we are deeply saddened that we made our innocent dog endure such conditions. Also, our dog was also no longer house trained when she got home – we had to completely start over because she would just wet inside. I’m guessing this is because she wasn’t taken out when she was left with Van Crest and got used to peeing when and wherever she could. Please do not go to Van Crest – animals should NEVER be treated this way.

I have taken my dog Eearlewood (11) since he was a puppy and Polly (6) four years ago. Both are rescue dogs from Pets Inc. This clinic is the best in the world. They give each of my dogs great care and take the time to answer any questions I have about their well being. When Earlewood torn his left tendon/ligament and was in a great deal of pain, they saw him immediately. No appointment necessary in the event of an emergency. Both doctors treat them as if they were their own. The staff is so friendly and professional. Wonderful Staff! The staff explain every thing they do prior to seeing the doctor. Earlewood and Polly have also been boarded at the clinic, when we could not take them with us on a trip. The staff sent me emails with pictures to ease my worries. When we returned, both had been given a bath and were wearing the cutest scarfs. The clinic is very clean and there is very little wait time for your appointment. Another plus for this clinic, is they send you email reminders when your pets are due for their next check up. Love the newsletters they send out with great information for caring for your beloved pet.

I absolutely love Van Crest! When we first moved to town in Aug 2016, my dog and randomly visited and asked for a tour. The staff were very welcoming and the facilities were very clean. My poodle had his first visit in Feb 2017, and Dr.(Mrs.) Chambers and the vet techs were so nice, gentle, and thorough. Dr. Chambers answered all of my questions and cleared up all concerns that I brought up about my dogs care. A few weeks later, my dog was ill and had an emergency appt. After a few tests and treatment, my pup was back to normal in a few hours. One thing I love about Van Crest is that they review the cost of services before they do anything and make sure that you agree with the services! Ive moved around quite a bit and have visited many vets, and this type practice is a gem! Also, once youre a patient, Van Crest will price match supplies, including flea/tick meds. I would recommend Van Crest to anyone seeking vet care!

Very professional, very knowledgeable, gives most cost-effective treatment depending on diagnosis. I have taken several of my dogs to Van Crest. I had a situation with one of my female beagles having problems giving birth. After 2 hours of contractions and no puppies, I contacted Dr Chambers on a Saturday night around 9pm. He asked a few questions and then asked me to meet him at his office. I arrived at his office about 10 p.m.. He evaluated, took x-rays and gave her a shot to increasing contractions. Needless to say she deliver six healthy puppies. This was a weekend after hours call at a very reasonable fee. Im sure you cant find that kind of service anywhere in town. I have known Dr. Chambers and his wife, who is also a veterinarian for over 13 years and have nothing but the utmost respect for them.

My dog was being treated here for parvo. I brought him in the first day he showed signs, so there was a high chance of survival. I opted to do inpatient treatment because I was nervous that I wouldnt be able to sufficiently care for him, and in the morning the vet said I was good to take him home. However, that night, he started vomiting. I rushed him to the emergency 24/7 vet, where he stayed another three days before passing away. I cant help but think that if he had stayed and fought the virus at van crest that he wouldve been okay, as he was up and walking around when I brought him home. The vets at the emergency clinic agreed that 24 hours is not anywhere near the amount of time a dog needs to be treated for parvo. He was only seven weeks old.
