My dog has been seeing Dr. DelFavero for the past 2 years, so my review below is only in reference to her. On 1/27/2017, my boyfriend brought my dog in as she had suddenly started urinating in the house that week. It was determined that she had a UTI/bladder infection and two different kinds of crystals in her urine. She was given medicine for both issues, and we had a follow up appointment on 2/10/2017. Upon scheduling her follow up appointment, I was told to collect her urine first thing Friday morning and keep in the refrigerator or collect it before coming in for her appointment. If I was unable to collect her urine, then a technician would try to collect her urine upon arrival for her appointment. I was successfully able to collect her urine approximately 15-20 minutes before her scheduled appointment (I live less than 5 minutes away). Upon arrival, I provided her urine to the lady working the front desk, and a urine analysis was subsequently performed. The analysis showed that her infection had cleared up, but that there was still one kind of crystal in her urine (I was told that she no longer had the calcium crystals which are the worst ones). It was recommended that an x-ray be performed, so I approved the x-ray. Upon reviewing the x-ray, Dr. DelFavero noted there were no stones, and that the crystals that showed up in the urine analysis were most likely due to the passage of time between when the urine was collected and the analysis was performed. Due to this, I am very disappointed in the fact that I paid $195 for an x-ray that would most likely not have been necessary had I not collected my dogs urine in advance as was requested of me. I feel as if either the receptionist made a mistake when requesting I collect my dogs urine and then the technician/veterinarian subsequently testing the urine when it was known that certain types of crystals can form when there is any period of time between the collecting of the urine and then the analysis OR that this was done intentionally to make a few bucks off someone who was concerned about their dogs wellbeing. Upon requesting a refund for the full amount of the x-ray, Dr. DelFavero had an excuse for everything and said that I was simply mistaken. As such, I have switched my dog to a new vet where we are much happier!

I hate that it has taken me so long since my visit to post this review. However, I cannot say enough good about my experience at Carolinas Vet. I left feeling that the newest love of my life (my French Bulldog, Navi) received the absolute best veterinary care possible. Dr Watson not only demonstrated that he is remarkably skilled and knowledgeable in his profession, he showed GENUINE interest in my little guy, as did his entire staff. I was impressed and pleased with every stage of my visit...from the Rockstars at the front desk (who stayed late because my appointment ran over and still managed an authentic smile) to the girls in the lab (who gave me the grand tour, even after hours), to Dr. Watson and his sidekick Natalie who thoroughly and scholarly answered every single question with care and professionalism. Most importantly, they did not treat me like "that crazy dog lady". I got the impression that they are all "crazy dog people" too. So, I felt right at home :-) I am not local to Charlotte. However, because my pup deserves the best, I will make the 1-1/2 hour drive to the vet, without hesitation.

CVMH is hands-down the best vet in the Carolinas! Perhaps anywhere, but our dog is a lifelong Carolina girl :) Drs. Watson and DelFavero have been taking care of her since 2011, from vet appointments and major surgery to boarding when we travel - we cannot say enough good things about every single aspect of CVMHs practice! The front desk staff and techs know us and remember us every time we call, since the very beginning, and are always patient and accommodating with scheduling and answering questions. Our dog also has some anxiety issues with boarding such that we dont trust taking her many places, but shes never had a single problem at CVMH and they love her as if she were their own!! Lastly, Dr. Watson performed ACL surgery on her in December 2016 and it couldnt have gone better - hes an incredible surgeon and we trust him and his staff 100000%! Thank you for the CVMH team for always taking the best care of our baby!

We met these folks at a tough time...our beloved Peggy Sue was dying. Their caring and support was such a help through those days. Then Ellie Mae joined our family and needed plenty of TLC. She got her shots, her operations, her pills and lots of loving advice. Dr. Watson has taken all the time we needed, listened to our concerns and made helpful suggestions. The rest of the staff has been so welcoming and helpful. Wed recommend CVMH to anyone with a dear pet.

From the first call making an appointment, the staff was extremely helpful and kind. When we arrived, they were welcoming and genuine. While getting examined, they explained everything in detail and answered all of our questions. They were sweet and gentle with our dog, and played with her like she was their own. And when we thanked them for how amazing they were, they were extremely appreciative. THIS is where you want to take your pet.

Our newly rescued small breed dog was checked and cared for by Dr. Watson and staff. Our dog has since visited for daycare. Upon arriving for the second day of daycare he realized where he was and could not wait to go inside to see the loving staff and fellow classmates :). Thank you for such great care!

Bait and switch. My wife faxed my dogs shot record so the vet knew his history in advance. Thev said he inly needed 1 shot and the bill would be $73.00. When we arrived the price jumped to $131.00. Beware of a place that quotes one price then raises the price when you arrive.
