VMC of FM came highly recommended by our neighborhood FB page so when we adopted Malcolm 2yrs ago, it was a no brainer where we were going to take him. As new "dog parents" we had TONS of questions during our 1st few visits (who am I kidding, 2yrs in and I STILL have tons of questions when I take my fur baby in...haha)...my point is, the Drs. and techs are always so patient with me. I appreciate the fact that they ALWAYS get on Malcolms level as they can see that he is a bit nervous when staff enters the room...they get right down on the floor with him. They use calm voices and offer treats in an effort to build trust and put him at ease. There are times when Im even a bit nervous and they are just as attentive to me. Some folks have commented about their high rates. I will admit, there have been times when I left having spent more than I anticipated but the quality of service, the clean (and odor free) facility in addition to peace of mind is worth it. Also, I always feel comfortable asking about a treatment or procedure that is more "cost effective" and the staff is more than willing to accommodate me if possible. There are ways to obtain credits on your accounts also, just ask them..KNOWLEDGE IS POWER or in this case knowledge is $$$ :). Lastly, the staff is amazing...from the front desk (Hey Renee!!!) to the techs and Drs..

I cannot say enough good things about VMC of Fort Mill! We have two greyhounds and they are not typical dogs from a medical standpoint. Its very difficult to find greyhound saavy vets in this area. Dr. Gamboni understands all the idiosyncrasies of greyhounds, which are very important in their care and treatment of any conditions or illnesses. In addition, I love the Healthy Pet Experiences that Dr. Reck offers. These classes are especially beneficial for new pet owners, but I found myself learning something new in each of the classes. Veterinary medicine is constantly evolving and its helpful to be up to date with the latest info for our fur babies. I also love that they are a Fear Free practice. One of my greys and one of my kitties has a lot of anxiety when going to the vet. It means a lot that they care about trying to make a very stressful experience for our pets as positive as possible. It is clear that the vets and everyone associated with this practice really care about their pet (and human) clients! Their friendly, caring, and compassionate staff go above and beyond to make you and your pets experience a positive one! I would highly recommend this practice to anyone who truly cares about receiving the best care for their pet!

First. Ive been on the Internet forever, but Ive never felt so compelled to write a review for a business and customer service before. This place is amazing! Tuesday, I had to put down my best friend of 15 years, Leo. This was his second visit to VMCFM in the past 2 weeks. Dr. Angela and her team were SO caring! Ive never gone through putting a pet to peace before, but they made the process as tolerable as possible. They let me pay in the back with Leo so I could walk right out of the office after everything was finished. Leos ashes arrived the very next morning (within 12 hours). They are not expensive as many have stated here and its also true, they do not try to oversell. Heres the kicker. Ive been so upset all week and then today I receive the nicest card in the mail with hand written notes from each staff member I came in contact with. Ive lost 3 family members in the past 3 months and NEVER received ANYTHING except bills. Who does that anymore? These people are animal Lovers who take pride in their work. I cant say anything else other than bring your little Loved-ones to this place for care and Love. They made a horrible situation bearable!

The vets and techs are excellent here! I have been bringing my Toy Aussie, now 6, to VMCFM the last 5 years and my previous Aussie/Border Collie when they first opened in 2011. Dr. Julie Rech is the best vet I have ever had with all of my pets! I met her when she had her own euthanasia at home practice. She has even written a book on euthanasia called "Facing Farewell." My dog was sick last week and had some blood work taken and she even called me back with the results on a Sunday am, so I was relieved to not wait until Monday. I had taken him to an Urgent Care earlier in the week and the techs even called to check on him the next day to see how things were going. They have extended hours and you can even bring your dog/cat in for just a nail trim/shot/tech visit if they have been seen in the last year. They also play soft, relaxing music in the rooms to help relax your pet and they are Fear Free Certified. They even have an online pet records site, Petsites, where you can access your pets labs and shot records. The only thing I would suggest is to have nail trims complimentary with any visit!

UPDATE: We just passed Daisys one year mark for her ACL surgery and Daisy is doing incredible! Dr. Reck & team: thank you for giving my girl back her life at the ripe age of 11! We are so thankful that the years she has left will be full of chasing balls and running on the beach! Dr. Reck performed ACL surgery on my dog, Daisy, two weeks ago. From our first meeting, I was instantly comfortable with Dr. Reck as she addressed all of my concerns and was very upfront with the risks vs. rewards of the particular procedure we chose. I drove from Columbia, SC, just to see Dr. Reck after having a consultation with a surgeon in our area who wanted to perform the same surgery on my 12 year old 35 lb. border collie mix as he performed on 90 lb. dogs. For anyone researching ACL repair for their dogs, you know that this is simply not a "one size fits all" surgery situation. After two weeks of taking it easy, Daisy had her staples removed and is now starting to put weight on her leg. As much as it was hard putting her through the surgery, I am so glad that we chose Dr. Reck to perform it!!

I cannot speak highly enough of this practice. I had a tragic, unexpected loss of my dog in the office a week ago today, and I have never felt more compassion from a group of people. Ive been coming to this office since day one and I can assure you that you will NOT find a more educated, well rounded group of veterinarians in the area. Standing in complete shock, disbelief and inconsolable over my dog, I was comforted and embraced by Dr. Reck as I was by myself bringing my dog for a checkup for something that was concerning. Little did I know, my dog was very sick and had a large mass in her chest compressing her lung totally, therefore ultimately suffocating her. Every person in this office displayed a tremendous amount of compassion during this traumatic time for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such an upstanding veterinarian, Julie and thank you even more to the staff that showed such care and concern. I will always refer my clients in the area to you and continue bringing my animals to you for the best care. Thank you again. Xoxo
