My dog is dead! And was dying within 2 hours of picking her up from this place. This is the second animal Ive taken here for emergency treatment and the overnight crew didnt do their jobs. 2 dead dogs is too many! My lab was severely impacted and couldnt poop. Xrays showed no tears or punctures from all the impaction. Even though she was terribly miserable, she didnt want me to leave her. Dr. Reed had to manually remove as much fecal matter as possible after administering an enema. At shift change, the overnight doctor was Dr. Kirk. When I got there to pick D-Day up at 6:30 in the morning, Dr. Kirk specifically told me the pain medicine began wearing off at 5am and she started to get uncomfortable. He said she tried to poop 3 times and couldnt. Then he told me she needs another enema but that he didnt want to do it! He told me to take her to my vet and have them do it. When he brought her out, she wanted nothing to do with me which was BEYOND WEIRD. All she wanted was to go outside and use the bathroom. She was more miserable than when I took her to this place. I got her home, and again, all she did was strain to use the bathroom. I went in the house and when I came out 30 minutes later to take her to my vet, she was bleeding from her mouth. After driving like a crazy person to the vet, we had to wait about 5 minutes for them to open. D-Day was bleeding profusely, and the blood was coming up from her stomach. The back of my car looked like a crime scene with all the blood everywhere. My vet didnt have any staff in the office at the time so she couldnt do emergency surgery, and made the determination that D-Day wouldnt make it to another emergency clinic due to the amount of blood she had already lost and was continuing to lose. I had no choice but to put her down. Rivergate pet emergency clinic Dr. Kirk knew what my dog needed and chose to not do it. He saw that she still couldnt use the bathroom and was in pain. $1400 later, my beloved D-Day is dead. Paula Milligan

One word: unprofessional. My cat, Mr. Fu, was not being himself and was very lethargic. His belly was very swollen, and he had not eaten all day which is very unusual because he is a 15 pound cat and loves to eat. I decided I needed to take him in and this place seemed to have the lowest fee. I had my roommate drive me and fu to the vet, in the snow because Nashville was just hit hard. I get there, they take him back and I dont see him for three hours. In that time, the vet came in to tell me his diagnosis but took me around in circles so I didnt fully understand what was happening. She said he needed to stay two days to be sedated, get a catheter put in, and have blood work done. She ran up a quote, had her nice nurse come in and present it to me-it was $2,600..........and I had to pay it that day. Who can afford that..? Not me. So I asked for another option, the nurse told me I could apply for a credit card for the vet, and pay it that way. I told her that wasnt an option and I would rather wait til Monday to see my regular vet. She had the vet come back in, and she was horrendous. I mean, she said and I quote "it would be more humane for me to euthanize him because he wont last the weekend, so if thats what you want for your cat then we can do that." Great way to get someone to treat their animal, by putting fear in their mind. Still havent seen Fu, dont know what they did to him or if they even touched him. I walked out paying $300 for some pain killers and medicine to help his bladder. They asked me to come back and they would the waive the entry fee for good measure-yeah right. I went to banfield today, had a great experience with the vet there, they are doing all that they can to save Mr. Fu! Dont take your pet here, it will ruin you.

Took my cat in late Friday night because he was having problems moving (almost as if he was slowly becoming paralyzed). He was drinking and urinating but had quit eating and pooping for about 24-36 hours. I explained that he was a stray that I got 3 weeks prior. Wasnt sure if hed had his FIV/Leukemia checks, so he got those ($300 so far). FIV/Leukemia were not the issue, so they offered the shotgun approach to healing - fluid$, painkiller$, anti-inflammatory -$, and an X-ray$$$$$. After thinking about this a little while and the vets advice (she is a good saleswoman if nothing else) I opted for fluids and painkillers. I said to the assistant, "why wasnt an enema being considered - hes probably constipated?" She replied, "Well, wed probably have to do an Xray ($200) before that". I left the clinic $500 poorer and with a cat that was no better off. The next morning (8 hours later) he was in even worse shape and I took him to a REAL VET (Eastview). In about 5 seconds in the hands of a REAL VET (feeling around the cats abdomen) he said that my cat had a huge stool stuck in his gut. I asked if he needed an Xray? The REAL VET looked at me puzzled and said, "You cant miss it, but if you feel more comfortable doing an Xray first, we can and then perform an enema". $175 later my cat had two enemas, medication for a ferocious case of ear mites (missed by St. Bethlehem vet on initial checkup), medication to de-worm (figured St. Bs missed that too), medication to continue eliminating pests, and a tube of hairball removal paste. Cat was extremely happy and in no time was back to normal. JUST THE FACTS.

We rushed our dog here & up front had to pay $750. Then for her to stay overnight an extra $450 for her to stay 9 hours cause they close at 7 a.m Picking her up we were told wed have to spend $1200 MORE dollars or they were going to have to "euthanize" our dog claiming her organs would shut down if we took her home. We didnt have THAT MUCH money on hand. We finally got her anyway which they were not going to give her to us and said they were just going to euthanize her since we couldnt pay the $1200....we got her to a REALLY REALLY FRIENDLY "FRIENDLY" place on Sidco drive that is open 24hrs. If wed known about them thats where wed gone. Our dog stayed at the vet on Sidco dr. 24hrs and we only spent $437 and when we came and picked her up we were told they owed us $277 back because the dog didnt need what was listed. These people here were VERY VERY VERY HEARTLESS TO WANT TO EUTHANIZE AN ANIMAL FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PAY THEM AT THE TIME . OUR DOG GOT SAVED ANYWAY AND HAS FULLY RECOVERED AND SENT HOME WITH A MED FOR DIARRHEA AND TOLD TO GIVE BENADRYL FOR A BEE STING. A BEE STING. IT WAS ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL ABOUT THE MONEY & THEY FED OFF MY LOVE FOR MY DOG & other things possibly too. Our dog has made a FULL recovery and would have been put to sleep for nothing. SCARY VERY SCARY. And also the environment on sidco drive was a WHOLE WHOLE WHOLE LOT MORE FRIENDLIER & the vibe was very positive as well. Poor animals Im sorry!! Our dog had trouble breathing and come to find out it was an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Rude and careless people here.
