Dr. Travis Thompson and his staff are second to none! I have been going here for three years now and not one time have I felt that I did not receive exceptional service. A week ago I had a severe eye infection that required immediate attention on a Saturday. I called Stacy and she informed me that they were really busy, but just come on and Dr. Thompson would work you in immediately. Once I got there I literally waited 5 minutes before Dr. Thompson came out and brought me right back to be evaluated. He got me in and out in less than 10 minutes with medicine to treat my infection. What Dr. Thompson did on Sunday was above and beyond. He called me on Sunday afternoon to check on me and make sure that I didnt need anything and started experiencing relief. Dr. Thompson even offered to come to my home and look at me if needed. The staff at Hardin Valley Eyecare and Optical go above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before in any health care facility. They treated me incredibly and now my family and I are part of the Hardin Valley Eyecare and Optical family for life.

I was quite pleasantly surprised by my visit at HVE&O. I was a little concerned ahead of time by the youth of the "new" Dr there. However, I had a full evaluation and felt that in addition to my prescription being updated, the examination covered all areas of eye health. They were thoroughly explained to me in a way I could understand. Then I worked with the optometrist who spent way more time and gave me way more attention than it normally takes. Turns out that my face is not totally symmetrical and that impacts my glasses looking level on my face. She did that even knowing that I was taking my prescription elsewhere to see if I could find a better price for what I wanted. I really love those Silhouettes-but they are very expensive. It feels like you arent even wearing glasses. I recommend trying Hardin Valley Eyecare.

Dr. Pithwa is GREAT! Like many, I do not necessarily like eye examinations. My regular doctor suggested it during my physical. My preconceptions are gone. Dr. Pithwa uses the newest testing equipment. My glaucoma test was done without an obnoxious blow of air into my eyes (it actually was done BEFORE I knew it). He took a picture of the interior of my eyes. He performed other examinations. Then, Dr. Pithwa spent the time to explain to me everything shown in the tests. My eyes were fine but I was unaware of all of the medical problems he could detect during a normal eye exam. If you need an eye examination, and we ALL do, go see Dr. Pithwa at Hardin Valley Eyecare and Optical!

I recommend Dr. Pithwa and his staff to everyone I know. I have never had such excellent customer service, such personalized attention and patient focused care from any of the providers Ive ever visited. Ive been seeing an eye doctor for the last 20 years and Ive never met anyone like Dr. Pithwa. He is available to his patients 24/7 and REALLY cares. This practice is a state of the art facility, with all of the latest technology, yet has that small town feel where everyone knows your name. You just dont find that anywhere anymore. My vision is one of the most important things in my life. I wouldnt trust it to anyone other than Dr. Pithwa.

Dr. Neal Pithwa and team are AMAZING! I love going to his Hardin Valley office. Everyone is so nice and you never feel like a number. They are so patient and always available when I need an appointment. The contacts that Dr. Pithwa recommended for my eyes actually IMPROVED my eyesight by 1/2 a point in one year! Ive never seen anything like that! They allow more oxygen to get into your eye. They feel so good! I would certainly recommend Absolute Eyecare & Optical to anyone who needs eye care ~ or a fabulous pair of Maui Jim shades:)

Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very attentive and polite. Dr. Pithwa is also a wonderful eye doctor who will listen to your concerns and will clearly provide answers to any of your questions. He genuinely cares about his patients and also the condition of the eyes. I have persistent dry eye, and Dr. Pithwa explained exactly what I should do and how I should take care of them. Also, I found an amazing pair of glasses! I highly recommend Absolute Eyecare and Optical as your eyecare provider.

The professional optician attention is top rate , the exams were thorough and identified areas we needed follow up on and the eyeglasses were priced competively below the other providers in this area for the exact same products. They offer top of the line eyewear that we have satisfied our needs, are stylish and up to date.

Unfortunately, my experience at this office has been less than desirable. Dr. Thompson is great and seems very helpful. The office staff are unfriendly and made me feel uncomfortable each time I had to come in with a complaint over contact blurriness. Customer service should be every employers #1 priority and it is definitely not high on the list here. I will be going elsewhere in hopes of a more comfortable experience.

Just established with this office and had a fantastic experience. The front office staff was knowledgeable and very helpful, going above and beyond when my insurance provider dropped the ball. Dr. Thompson was friendly and efficient, answering all my questions and paying attention to the special circumstances surrounding my contact wear and glasses update. Overall a great customer experience!

Dr. Pithwa and Michelle went out of their way to make sure that I received the best care possible for my eyes. I insisted on contacts and the staff make sure time and time again that I got exactly what I wanted. After we determined that contacts were for me, they made sure that the glasses I choose were the best for me and my situation. I highly recommend Dr. Pithwa and Absolute Optical.

He and his staff are very professional and friendly. Also their location in Hardin Valley is very convenient for anyone living in or near the Hardin Valley area. I would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this office. I mainly went there because it was close to my place of work. However, the friendlies of the staff and thoroughness of the doctor impressed me so much that I will be returning and recommending others. If you are looking for an eye doctor close to West Knoxville or Oak Ridge, definitely consider this one.
