I will ditto what Erica said and add more. My 91 year old Mother moved to Murfreesboro to be closer to me. She wanted a female PCP, so she chose Dr. Lakes. On my Moms second visit, Dr. Lakes misdiagnosed an itching rash my mother had, and suffered with for three weeks before going in person (because her calls werent returned) to get a referral to a dermatologist. I have been to her office with my mother, and I asked questions which I felt, she ignored. Another time, my mother developed this excruciating pain that started in her shoulders. Dr. Lakes diagnosed arthritis and prescribed Celebrex. This time, my mother suffered for 6 weeks, and Dr. Lakes kept telling her that it takes time for the Celebrex to work. After several attempts to get a referral to a Rheumatologist, we had to go to her office and insist on a referral and told her staff we werent leaving without one. The Rheumatologist diagnosed Polymyalgia and told my Mother she would start feeling better after the first dose of the medicine he prescribed. He was right. This last diagnosis finds my Mother in very serious condition. She went to Dr. Lakes with swollen feet and ankles. Dr. Lakes upped her diuretics. Mom went back with fatigue and shortness of breath (red flag to most doctors). Dr. Lakes put her on Ibuterol inhaler. A week later, I took my Mom to Stonecrest with an intestinal virus. I mentioned previous symptoms while there. The doctor gave her antibiotics, and Potassium supplements and released her. There was no indication of AFib, and her swolden feet and ankles had gone away. Exactly one week later, my Mother suffered a stroke from what Drs. in ICU believe was from Afib. The clot went to her brain and she was in ICU for 4 days, then moved to Cardiology floor for 4 more days until she stabilized. She suffered left side paralysis, and has now been in rehab for almost two weeks. In the meantime, a neighbor went to see Dr. Lakes for Botox injections. Dr. Lakes/Genesis Spa should have signaled red flags for me. She is more into filling wrinkles and selling skin care products which adorn her waiting room. My Mother may be 91, but she was spunky. She still drove, she gardened, sewed, knitted and shopped, until I dropped. I saw my Moms symptoms as concerning. I tried to get a second opinion from my PCP, but he was out of her network. My Mother, my best friend will never be the same again.

This physician is not recommended. It is oftentimes very difficult to get an appointment, and her front desk staff is rude. The nurse also does not timely return messages or inform you of test results without requiring repeated calls which will THEN lead to posting of results online in the patient portal. Dr. Lakes does not take time to listen to her patients or ensure that their chart contains documentation that accurately reflects symptoms reported by the patient - unfortunately, a patient will only know the extent of the lack of documentation once there is an insurance denial and/or the doctor is fired and a copy of the records are obtained. If you have other doctors (e.g., cardiologist) and the physicians should be working as a treatment team, do not expect this to occur. Dr. Lakes will be very quick to inform you that she doesnt share test results or call other doctors as that is the patients responsibility. This could be VERY dangerous to the patient, especially if the patient is elderly, disabled, or not able to understand test results or know the questions to ask because the patient will be told very little from this office. If you get very sick and end-up hospitalized and are told to follow-up with your PCP upon release, good luck getting an appointment within the next 2 or 3 weeks and dont ask to see her partner as the receptionist will be hateful and just tell you to go to the ER again if you are that sick. Google this physician to read other reviews before making an appointment - your health and possibly your life could depend upon it!

I went to Dr. Lakes for dizziness, fatigue, and occasional shortness of breath her diagnostics were to eat more fruits and vegetables ns drink more water! Are you kidding me seriously! I was furious because honestly I never go to the doctor but I finally did and paid the $20 Co pay just to be told those two things! I went on to tell her I had only had water to drink for the past 10 years due to a diet I was on and she said well I guess u need more water ! Shes unprofessional. The front ladies are extremely rude the only good experience Ive had there was getting my blood drown but the phlabotomist she was great! I was almost in a panic attack because the thought of needles give me anxiety and she calmed me down and didnt hurt me at all so she was great as for the rest of the people they need a new profession!

Wish there were negative ratings, I saw Heidi cant even call her a dr because shes not in my opinion for severe depression (suicidal thoughts), her treatment was for me to loose weight and start eating raw fruits and veggies. Her motive through her practice is to shove her weight loss system down patients throats. I told her I just wanted something to make me feel better (anti depressants) she informed me she doesnt like prescribing pills for something weightloss can fix
