The doctors and staff at the animal hospital are wonderful. They really seem to want to provide the best care for the animals that they treat, however, I was convinced to have ongoing costly treatment performed on one of my dogs that required me to bring her in once a week. After several treatments, I was left a voicemail at home letting me know that they would no longer be able to provide the treatment on the weekend due to the time it took the tech (5 - 10 mins) on a busy day. Since I work and cant get home before they close during the week it made it impossible for me to continue what they said was a necessary treatment. I have also boarded my dogs with them twice in the last six months with instructions that my neighbor would be picking them up since Sunday pick up is no longer an option. Obviously, this is a time commitment on my neighbor which I greatly appreciate them doing. Both times they have gone to pick them up they have been questioned about whether or not they can pick them up and I was told that the receptionist was rude and expected them to pay for the boarding. In the past I have always contacted them with payment after returning home with no issue but these last two times I have been called while still on vacation and asked for payment and the first time I was told it could not wait until I returned.

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful this clinic is. We moved here from out of state and our littlest cat was having issues eating and throwing up her food. After she had seen multiple vets in my past town and there had been no resolution or even diagnosis, I wasnt sure that the vet here would be able to figure out what was going on, either. The first day they met her they looked inside her mouth (why, oh why had no vet done this before?!) They discovered that she had resorption of several teeth, which is why she had been sick and unable to eat much for several YEARS. I was so upset and felt enormously guilty, but they assured me that it was not my fault as an owner, this is something that cats hide very well. They scheduled her for dental and were very attentive and caring, giving us updates by phone as she came out of surgery and recovered. Now, she is home and eating wet food like a champ and has gained 2 lbs.! She is much healthier and more active, and we brought our other cat in for a check-up as well (hes good too.) It is so nice to finally know what was wrong with Thusa and be able to fix it for her so that her quality of life could improve. We want to do best by our pets, and thats why we continue going to Harpeth Valley for their medical needs and care.

Weve been seeing the doctors at Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital for over 5 years now. Theyve been exceptional with advice and treatment of our rescue dogs. From routine vaccinations to more complicated issues, they love our dogs as much as we do. In 5 years, our dogs have been treated for heartworms, double patellar luxation surgery, urinary tract infection/bacterial infection with overnight stay, grooming, and post-op cataract correction visits. We probably keep them in business with how much money we spend on our dogs, but Im extremely happy with the service and care they provide. They truly do love the animals. I also appreciate that theyre willing to call with advice or direction rather than requiring you to come in for a visit. They give you home treatment advice and then ask that you bring the animal in if things dont improve. I love that they arent searching for ways to get you in for an appointment so they can charge you for the visit. Weve seen Dr. Hurst and Dr. Wall, and we love the assistants, especially Brian. I would like thank HVAH for the care they provided recently for our elderly beagle. Since moving here 5 years ago we have always taken Maggie here for her shots etc, and we have always been most pleased. But recently I needed to board her on the spur of the moment due to a medical emergency in our family. Her usual routine had been altered for several days and she was very frightened at the prospect of being left anywhere other than her home. In spite of my best efforts to lure her from the front seat of the car with several treats she continued to stand fast in her determination to remain where she was. This was when a member of the staff at HVAH stepped in and offered to help. Needless to say I was very grateful. To make a long story short Maggie came home a few days later and it was obvious she had been well cared for in our absence. A public thank you and a 5 star recommendation is our way of making sure you know how much we appreciated your efforts.

We have taken our dogs to this animal hospital since it first opened long ago. The current vets, Dr. Hurst and Dr Wall could not be nicer or more competent. They have great bedside manner with the pets and their people too! Recently we had the incredibly difficult decision to have our 16 year old wire - haired dachshund put to sleep due to congestive heart failure. I had never been through this terrible experience before and was extremely distraught. DR. Hurst and the staff could not have been nicer to us.Dr. Hurst even came to my car, where I had retreated so I did not have to see the end of the procedure. He came to my car just to give me a hug and soothing words of condolence. I will never forget that. We also received a card the next week signed by all, of the staff. I would not hesitate to bring my animals to be cared for by these exceptionally kind people.

Best. Vet. Ever. The vets at this practice love my pets. When Ive had to leave one periodically for treatments, they all tell me how they couldnt help but take my giant ragdoll cat out of the cage and cuddle her. Over the years Ive had to put two cats to sleep and they treated both my pets and me with dignity and care. Theyre through and use diagnostics not just to spend ur money but to find solutions to treat your pets. I cant remeber how to spell her name but the woman vet here is just. Amazing. She saved my huge ragdoll cats life by not being satisfied with easy answers. And now I have a whole lifetime with this fabulous cat. Best vet Ive ever been to. And as long as Im in Nashville, they will be the only vet I go to. ;)

Both Dr. Hurst and Dr. Wall are amazing. We have been going to them for over 10 years and have some difficult health issues for our cats. Not only are they knowledgeable, they are caring. All of their staff receive high marks as well. Their approach with our 2 diabetic kitties lead to one of them reversing diabetes and the other is now happy and healthy. I can’t begin to thank them for their thoughtfulness when we had to put a kitty to sleep. You could tell they really cared and how often do you get hugs at a place of business? Great people and absolutely recommend!
