I made an appointment for my sick kitty over 2 weeks ago. When I called, the receptionist gathered very little information and was not at all enthusiastic. I told her I needed an appointment for a Tuesday after 3:30pm, for a routine check up, shots and to find out why he is ill. She gave me an appointment for 4pm on a Tuesday, which was over a week away. Once I got off the phone I wrote it down on my calendar. The day of his appointment, I got off work earlier than expected, so I called to see if there was an ealier appointment available, so that my husband could go with us before he went into work (thank God I did). When I called, the same "non-enthusiastic" receptionist answered. When asked about my appointment, she first said she couldnt locate it. So then, she asked for my name and my cats name, and after being on hold for about 3 minutes, she tells me that I apparently missed my appointment, that it was at 1:30pm. So, me, being the wonderful and caring "cat-mom" that I am, said, "Oh, no! There must be a mistske! I made this appointment over a week ago! I spoke to the receptionist about needing an appointment at least after 3:30pm! I even wrote it down on my calendar after speaking with her! There must be something you can do! Hes an old, sick, cat!" The non-enthusiastic receptionist replied, " The doctor never does vaccines after 1:30pm. Hes all reserved today. Youll have to make another appointment for next week." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was APPALLED! I never even got a "sorry" or anything! So, I told her to remove my information from their computer. I then called Healthy Petz in SH, and got in immediately! I HIGHLY recommend this vet clinic! The receptionist was very personable and caring. And the staff was WONDERFUL! If you have had great experience at SHVC, great. If not, go to Healthy Petz :)

I would not recommend going here at all. I am so upset. My visit started out fine. We took both of our dogs to them. She did the nails and shots and was very nice, she then tested the dog that we saved off the hwy for heart worms so we would know if she was okay. She tested her in the room and she came back positive, She then sent her stuff off to double check it and told me she would call me that Saturday, she never called. I called her after several days with no call back. She mentioned a shot treatment, after talking to our vet back home, we did not want to do this because of arsenic. I asked her to do the pill treatment with advantage multi, I got her the records from the vet in Texas, and was told she will call me back. I have had to call back 3 to 4 more times with no return call. The lady at the front desk was really rude to me and even hung up on me while I was talking to her. I am so upset. I will file a BBB complaint if I have to take my dag somewhere else and pay to have all the tests ran again. That is stressful for the dog and now she is still without treatment. This is so unfair to the dog and horrible service! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE! Do not tell someone you will call them and give them services that they have paid for and not do it. This is horrible! I was very patient with waiting for a call back, but now after three times being told I will get a call and never get one and then to be spoken to the way I was and hung up on is unacceptable!

I use this vet and they are really good. Ive had them treat a few different animals. Very friendly vet and vet techs. Also, its good to note that they are fairly inexpensive. They run a lean shop (no fancy building or decorations for customers to pay for through increased bills). In the vet world, I need quality work at a low price if possible. Thats exactly how this shop is run. There are plenty of boutique style vets with fancy locations and all sorts of neat stuff. You pay for all those neat and pretty toys. Thats why I go to the vet on Locke. Im amazed at the review below where the ladies dog got lost and ended up being found via chip at this Vet. She leaves them a 1 Star review for not holding her dog until she could get there. Well guess what, lady, how about YOU take care of YOUR pet, especially since this vet doesnt have any history with your pet. All she would have to do is pick it up from animal control later, rather than the vet. Im not sure how people think that a business is a 1 star business because they wouldnt stay late to keep your pet. Thats selfish and ridiculous. Lady - YOUR pet is YOUR responsibility. Maybe youre a 1 star pet owner....

Ive used Spring Hill Vet Clinic for 15 years and absolutely trust and rely on them. They are patient, helpful and compassionate. Dr. Kim Poynor is up on new treatments and medicines, but doesnt recommend unnecessary tests. Ive relied on her and her team to spay and neuter my cats, treat their illnesses (including a broken toe for one cat and pneumonia for another) and Ive turned to her when it was time to let a cat go. My cats are challenging to treat in that they are Feline Leukemia and FIV positive--many vets recommend such cats are put down or they dont know how to treat these chronic illnesses. Dr. Poynor does. Additionally, she and her staff will find time to work in an appointment if I need it and they work around my crazy work schedule. There are newer vet facilities in the Spring Hill area, but its the people who work there that matter--and the people at Spring Hill Vet are professional and caring.

Ive been going here since even before Dr. Poynor had the practice. She is nice, capable and considerate. However she should be more careful about who she employs as some of them are so irritable that it makes being in the office uncomfortable. Most people understand that its important to be polite to keep their job, even if they arent "feeling it", but not there. I can easily understand the reviews about clients feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, the happy, well-adjusted people with decent social skills probably move on to another vet with a better atmosphere. Many times Ive thought of going to a more pleasant office, but its the only really affordable vet in the area. Dr. Poynor is great; heres hoping she can learn how to attract staff more similar to herself. (Maybe they should try videoing for a week-- perhaps some of the staff has no self-awareness of how unpleasant they are.)

Im not sure why but both times Ive taken my (first time owning) puppy to this vet office it seems like an inconvenience to them... Im not happy about the service. Both times Ive asked about flee/tick prevention and spaying her and I either just get a price quote for I dont know what (its all new to me)or just a short answer... like I should already know? Not very helpful at all. They have never offered good info into first time ownership or what I should do for future visits and anything I do get from them it seems like I need to ask just the right question.
