In the summer of 2014, the incompetent vet on staff misdiagnosed my kitten and didnt prescribe the proper treatment or medication that could have possibly saved his life. A vet tech was also allowed to draw blood without the veterinarian present while another incompetent staff member shook my kitten and held his mouth closed (I guess she was thinking this would calm him, but it only made matters worse), which had sore ulcers in it due to feline herpes. This made my kitten cry even more when he already wasnt feeling well and I had to tell her to stop and explain about the ulcers in his mouth, to which she barely acknowledged what I just told her. The whole experience was traumatic from beginning to end. I would never recommend going here. My kitten died three days later and I had been in contact with the vet every single day to tell him about how my kitten was doing and I asked him several times if there was another medication or a different treatment we should be trying to help him get better. I was syringe feeding him at home and doing everything I could while not getting the proper guidance from the vet or the proper prescriptions! I was told no each time when I asked him about an antibiotic because I found it odd that he didnt prescribe one. I made a complaint about my experience by both emailing and calling Value Vet. I never once received a reply. Nothing. Not one word. The emergency vet at a different clinic who had to euthanize my kitten said that this vet should have prescribed an antibiotic. Only an eye ointment was prescribed when my kitten actually had an eye infection and likely sepsis that needed a strong antibiotic. My experience at this place is something forever burned in my memory as a painful experience for both me and my sweet kitten, who I miss so much.

When it came time to say goodbye to my seventeen year old dog, I made an appointment at Value Vet. When I asked if i could sit on the floor with my dog in her bed, the person making the appointment assured me the staff would work with me in any way I felt comfortable. I was apprehensive, but I had no reason to be. The staff at the Murfreesboro, TN Value Vet were amazing! They showed me to a room immediately. I settled in on the floor with a quilt and my dog in her little bed. The staff member stayed by my side the entire time. She talked with me, offering comfort and understanding. She cried with me and showed me so much kindness. She was gentle and caring when she gave my dog a sedative. When the vet came in, he took time to greet me and offer his condolences. He made sure I was ready before going through with the procedure, then assured me to stay in the room and take whatever time I needed in private with my dog. Even when I returned to pick up my dogs remains, the vet chatted with me, hugged me and offered me comfort. I was so blessed and destined to be with the staff at Value Vet. I highly recommend this vet!

Value Vet is not a place you want to take your pet. Because, if they have to do lab work, they have to send it out, so if you are lucky and its not Friday, it comes back the next day. I called three times trying to get the results of the blood work done on my dog. The veterinarian could not take five minutes to talk to me because she was seeing patients, so I went over there to talk to her in person. She still could not talk to me for an HOUR. So, another day had gone by and my dog was needlessly suffering and getting worse during all this time. Most of the veterinarians there are young and inexperienced, plus I saw a different one every time I went there. I feel that my dog was misdiagnosed, the vet that examined him did not feel the mass in his abdomen. I took my dog to another vet for a second opinion. She felt a mass right away. Which was a swollen lymph node caused by prostate cancer, he died three days later. Its not a Value when you spend $210 for a misdiagnosis and have to go to another veterinarian to find out what is wrong with your pet.

Great place to take your furbabies! Over the summer we made the 500+ mile move from ohio and brought our dog in just for a check up. The vet was very kind and was very knowledagble and answered all of our questions. Another plus, our vet was origionally from ohio so she knew the answers to questions that we didnt even think to ask! We have a 100+ pound dog who still acts very much like a puppy, and he doesnt realize his size.. weve had expiriences where at other doctors where people were i guess afraid or along those lines but not here! They took the time to play with him and love on him! The only complaint i have is traffic! But its not the vets fauly, its hard to drive in murfreesboro without finding traffic! I would recommend, great prices and great people!

Quoted a different price on the phone then it almost doubled when we took the dog in. Lots of add-ons. She said that the people who answer the phones do that often and they are aware of the issue and apologized. They werent the most friendly later when it was time to pick up the dog. We shouldve stuck with our other vet (they are super friendly) but my wife was trying to safe a buck and ended up spending the same in the end with all the fees they didnt discuss on the phone.

Took a stray cat here to have her fixed (and we kept her), and they did an excellent job with everything and I wouldnt hesitate to take any animal there. The staff is very professional and friendly, and the facility is extremely nice.

The review about the inexperienced staff is a bit accurate, as Ive also seen a new one about every time and one even told me she was brand new. They are incredibly rude and condescending. Not a very good place to take your pet.

First time I went the staff was great, treated my dog well and friendly. The next time we went it was a whole different staff totally different treatment. I will NEVER take my dogs back there again.
