I wouldnt trust these people with my pet rock. If I could give White Rock Animal Hospital a lower rating than 1 star I would. Stay away from these guys if you value your pets life. We already had an incidence with Parvo but then this happened last week. My son called them back on Jan. 30th because he needed to board his 6 month old puppy while tending to his father at the hospital in Houston for a knee replacement. When he arrived at the boarding place the owner inquired as to whether or not Bandit had been vaccinated for kennel cough. The owner had a vet across the street who would administer it for $35 if Bandit had not been vaccinated. White Rock had been administering Bandits vaccinations so my son called them to find out. "Oh, yes," they said." Bandit was vaccinated for bordetella.." Well a few days after being boarded, Bandit started with a cough. My son called White Rock back to verify that the vaccination had been given. They checked the records again, and in fact, "No" the vaccination had not been given. White Rock charged my son, $160. $60 for an office visit. $60 for the antibiotic. And $40 for cough medicine. This could have been avoided with a $35 shot at the kennel. When My son brought this up to them, the response was absolutely no acceptance of any responsibility what so ever. They said, they werent even sure that what Bandit had was bordetella. It could have been any other upper respiratory illness. And certainly the Vaccination MUST HAVE been given because that was standard treatment and it was probably a paperwork error. But if they had given correct information and tho $35 vaccination had been given, there would have been no need to go see White Rock at get Ripped Off for $160.

These guys are really good with my 2 beagles. Granted, beagles are the most happy-go-lucky dogs and are eager to please so it doesnt take much. My 2yr old dog has an anal gland problem so youd think he would hate going to the vet, but he wags his tail like crazy every time we step foot in there. I was rather disappointed when they kept insisting there wasnt anything I could do for it other than keep taking him in every week for expulsion. This led me to find another vet who was more willing to work with me on his diet and other things to help his anal gland problem. However, I have personally heard things in there that scare me. I would not take my dog to this vet if they have troubles getting their toenails clipped. I personally heard the vet shouting (probably an understatement) at this frightened dog trying to get him to shut up so he could clip his nails... Im sure this only scared the dog more. Then when the vet came to give my dog his shots he was covered in sweat and all worked up. My puppy was traumatized from all the yelps the dog was letting out. All that being said, they are wonderful with my dogs and spoil them rotten. Just a warning, you will pay more for the excellent service!

I have been going to Dr. Hawthorne for more than 15 years and drive in from Lavon, as I trust him implicitly. He runs tests to confirm his diagnosis and does not just order a bunch of tests because he is clueless. Since I breed yorkies, I need a vet who can support me as a breeder. He has researched a number of issues for me and helped me make sound decisions in my breeding program. Dr. Williams is also a competent veterinarian. Although she is my backup, she has delivered pups by emergency c-section and all have been healthy. She has also successfully diagnosed some unusual situations. The staff is friendly and takes the time to get to know you. They even recognize my car and pull my file before I get in the door. I recommend this clinic to any of my puppy buyers who are in the area. Its a great piece of mind to know my pups are in good hands.

I have had the privilege of having pets as part of my family my entire life. White Rock Animal Hospital, both Dr. Williams and Dr. Hawthorne, have seen and cared for our pets for close to 20 years. I will promise you that you will not find a more compassionate and professional veterinarian office. We just recently had an incident with our big retriever which required major surgery. My dog received better consultation, surgical excellence, treatment, care and follow-up than most people I know who have themselves undergone surgery. They are tops and our family is eternally grateful for all they do!

The vets here are great! I love that you do not have to make an appointment for your animal, but can just show up. I believe one of the only services that requires an appointment is spaying/neutering which is done on Fridays. The vets are always willing to answer questions and truly care about the animals. Ive never had to wait long to have our dog seen by them either. Plus, they both spend time at the 24 hour animal clinic off Greenville (weekend shifts) and they offer hours on Saturday. Great place to take your four-legged friend!

I was referred to Dr. Hawthorne by a friend, and heard only great things about him! I was so nervous to get my dog spayed (and I mean really nervous) and I cant tell you how easy and calming they made the process for me and my pug Lucy. Dr. Hawthorn and Cindy answered all of the questions I had with confidence and explained everything to me very clearly. I am so happy I chose to take her here for the surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Hawthorne, and White Rock Animal Hospital!

Since this will be deleted after I post it Im gonna say exactly what I think. These money hungry vultures do no need to be in business anywhere. If you dont have enough money for their outrageous fees they will show you the door. Bottom line people look behind those closed doors when they take your pet....You will be shocked what goes on, no compassion, no love, these people need to be out of work

We have used White Rock Animal Hospital since 1978 and never had any regrets. While we used to live in the area near the clinic, we now live almost 10 miles away, but still wouldnt consider letting anyone else care for our four dogs and two cats. I have only the highest opinion of the care given by the entire staff and will go to them as long as they are in business.

My family has used White Rock Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Dr. Hawthorne is not only the most dedicated veterinarian Ive ever known, its hard to think of anyone more focused on his profession. Hes a great diagnostician, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable.
