I have never had such a bad experience getting new glasses in all my life. The doctors were nice as was the receptionist; however I think if I owned the place I would replace several employees. First of all the male person who fitted me with new glasses was very nice to my husband and just dealt with me because he had to. This all started in February 2014 when we visited for the first time and I got my final pair of glasses sometime around the end of May or first of April. The second time we went in was to pick up our glasses and my husbands glasses were adjusted so he looked like his eyeballs were twice their size because the glasses were sitting high on his face.Of course we had to come back a second time for his adjustment. The male who originally fitted us for glasses acted as if he didnt know either of us and worked hard to ignore us. My glasses were so bad that I had to go back within a week to tell them that I could not see out of them. They decided that the prescription might not be right and re-examined me. The technician who did this second exam was very rude and smart mouthed toward me. I made up my mind that I was not going to take his disrespectful attitude and went to the desk to cancel further appointments and leave the store. Both doctors talked me into staying and getting the exam completed. I did stay and went through the second exam and they ordered a new lens for me. The second lens was not right either and they had to order a third lens. The female who fitted my glasses was very nice and compassionate and figured out what the problem was and they ordered a third lens. The third lens is still not right but between my old glasses and the new ones I will manage until I can afford new glasses and my insurance helps pay a little. I also was not told that my glasses could not have the silicon nose pieces on them because the company does not make them for that new frame. If I had known that in the first place I would not have ordered the frame and the clip on sunglasses. I spent over $1,000.00 on my glasses alone and then several months later I got a bill for around $35.00 for part of the original exam that they said my insurance would not pay for. Well it just so happens that my husband spent over $800 dollars for his glasses and he has the same insurances that I do and he was not billed the extra $35.00. I guess even though it was a small amount, they thought they would get back at me for complaining. My nose is raw from these glasses and I still have problems with distance and some closer items. Bottom line is that if you are smart, you will not step a foot inside Frisco Family Eye Care.

Update: Dr. Suelflow contacted me by phone/email and apologized for the mix up, in great detail. She provided a copy of the failed fax attempts and Dr. McDaniels letter to his patients. I have updated the review from 2 stars to 4. Ive gone to Frisco Family Eye Care (Dr. McDaniel) for the past three years and have never had any issues. When making my annual eye appointment this year, it was never mentioned to me that Dr. McDaniel was no longer with the practice. I wasnt notified of this until I was already in the exam room and the assistant mentioned it very briefly. Since I was already in the office, I decided to go ahead and continue on with my appointment. I ended up seeing Dr. Pharis, who was very professional, which helped ease my mind that maybe I hadnt made a bad decision by staying for the appointment. However, I still felt like I was duped into "transitioning" doctors. Fast forward to a few days later, when I stopped by LensCrafters to try on a larger selection of eye glasses (up until this point, Ive worn strictly contacts, but decided it was time to invest in a pair of glasses to wear at night and while driving). In order to get a price quote on a pair of glasses I liked, I needed to have my prescription faxed to LensCrafters. I called their office around 2PM on a Monday to make the request, and the office staff seemed to be in no hurry to have the prescription faxed over. We were in the mall, so we did some other shopping and came back an hour later and it had still not been received. After calling Frisco Family Eye Care a total of 4 times to make the same request, Im still waiting for it to be faxed (Wednesday at 12PM). Frisco Family Eye Care would prefer for me to buy my glasses from them, because they make a good bit of money on the retail side. Had they had a style that I liked, I may very well have purchased my glasses from them. I believe this is the reason for them dragging their feet and not faxing the prescription. This experience, along with being duped into seeing a new doctor and not being notified that the original practitioner had sold the practice, is the reason why Im leaving a 2-star review. Their communication is lacking to the point where its making me consider a new doctor. Hopefully this is something they can remedy to keep my business.

Someone deleted my previous posting, suggesting there is something to my complaint. So Im sure that they will flag this one to keep many of you from seeing a side of this doctor that my wife and I were unfortunately subjected to. My wife actually had a pleasant experience with one of his staff members, and we previously spent a great deal of money with this guy but that is overshadowed by his lack of professionalism. This guy has to be the most unprofessional doctor I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. I have never had a doctor lose his temper and act like a fool because he didnt like what he heard. (All because he didnt appreciate my complaint to him about his actions towards my wife and the offensive nature he displayed as if my wife is an employee of his or someone he thinks he can order around). I think it’s pretty outrageous that he felt obligated to walk out his business into the parking lot while my wife was in the car and act in a very offensive manor while dressed in a t-shirt and workout pants speak to her the way he did. This guy clearly isnt interested in listening to anyone other than himself In this guys mind, it’s inappropriate to shop around….GET A CLUE DUDE, ASKING QUESTIONS, RESEARCHING, & LOOKING FOR THE BEST DEAL IS WHAT EVERYONE DOES. YOU DO THE SAME WHEN YOU GO BUY A CAR, SHIRT, WHATEVER….ITS ALL THE SAME. In his mind you are wasting his time by walking in and shopping. Go in and just to look, he’s quick to remind you how you are wasting his time. My wife and I are people that spend time shopping not only for the right item but the best deal including the best service. This practice is clearly interested in you paying way too much for items and paying way too much for his services. We will NEVER recommend his practice to anyone. In fact, due to the bad experience, we will ensure that our negative experience with him is told over and over again to local people and throughout the metroplex. Other comments prior are certainly not reality in my opinion. Im glad to say that he is one "doctor" that we will never thankfully see again. SNAKE! Wish him and his practice nothing but failure because of his arrogance! Do yourself a favor and go find another eye doctor.
