This office was recommended to us from an agency. Tried to make an appointment. After analyzing our insurance as having a high deductible, he wouldnt take us, but said it in a way that he didnt have the resources to help her due to our insurance. What they dont realize is that we put a great amount of money into our HSA for our daughters health care. Its more economical for us and our money actually goes to her. He based everything off of the fact our insurance deductible was high. I was more than expecting to pay each visit up front. Im glad we didnt get in to see him. Would have been a huge waste of our hard earned money. They also said they wouldnt be able to give a health diagnoses, which wasnt what I was looking for. I just wanted her evaluated. We just moved here and he was recommended for her developmental issues. They replied with the fact that they didnt have the resources to help her and that I needed to stay with my current team of doctors. And again, we just moved here and they are 1200 miles away. Honestly the weirdest doctor referral I have had, ever! By the email replies, Im not sure what this doctor actually does, because it wasnt what I thought, I guess. I thought he helped evaluate developmental behavioral issues. Anyway, just thought yall should know that from what they said to me in my email. Your assessment will be determined by the insurance. Seems shady to me. I wouldnt want my kids diagnosed with something just because I had good insurance, or not diagnosed because of not having good insurance. Crazy.

My son has his appointments next week, so we have not seen Dr. Rios yet, but were looking forward to it. I did want to comment on the appointment process and his staff. You do have to go through a portal to set up the appointment(s), but this is because sensitive information can/will be shared through email (as opposed to sitting on the phone answering questions and hoping the person on the other end got it all down). Its all a matter of being prepared for the first visit, and I think you can respect a clinic that wants to keep your information as secure as possible. After answering a few questions, I received a call from their office promptly to set up appointments. The lady I spoke with was very kind, helpful and understanding of the distance we were traveling (5+ hours) for our visits, and she was able to set them up on consecutive days for us. They required we have three visits, but I am totally okay with that level of thoroughness. So far, so good.

My daughters pediatrician recommended Dr. Rios & we started the process of trying to get in back in March. I just today received an email telling me that they were not comfortable working with us because of our Tricare insurance & to find someone else. When I asked for a phone call, I was told no that they didnt accept tricare. The website says that they do. Dont waste your time! If this had negative stars to give thats what they would get. You cant get a phone call returned, you can only communicate through email & if youre a single parent & you dont have sole custody they dont want to work with you. Yes this is my case. My ex-husband & I & his new wife are all on the same page & we co-parent extremely well. They cant work with me because of this. It shouldnt matter if we have the insurance & we were referred by the pediatrician.

Dr. Rios and his staff are AMAZING. Our entire experience with him and his whole team was wonderful. Even before we entered the office I felt like we gave a thorough history and what issues we needed addressed with our son. We came to Dr. Rios for a second opinion, and we dont regret it for a second. The evaluation process was a multiple appointment process, which was perfect for us. We felt like the attention we received was caring and helpful to say the least. We were encouraged, and informed. After reading some of the unfavorable comments below, I wonder if we are even talking about the same office! We couldnt have felt more welcomed and valued. I have already referred Dr. Rios to multiple people, and will continue to do so!

We just finished up our evaluation process with Dr. Rios and his team this week and couldnt be happier with this process. Every staff member we encountered was great with my 3 year old and I could tell they really cared. I appreciated the email process as they explained each step of the way thoroughly in a format I could print to ensure I understood everything. I strongly recommend Dr. Rios to anyone needing an autism diagnosis!

I absolutely love Dr. Rios!!!! My son loves him too!! Hes absolutely wonderful with kids, talks to them where they understand and spends as much time with you as you want! I would recommend Dr. Rios to anyone having issues with their children at home or at school. He helped my sons self esteem tremendously and helped me, as a parent, understand completely what was going on with him!!!

Dr Rios was very rude and condescending towards me and I dont know if it had anything to do with my enthicity. After my childs initial diognosis and report, they refused to see my son for follow up visits. The lady that handles the admin work, I think her name was Donna, was extremely unprofessional as well. Find another Dr if you want them to care about your child and show any sympathy.

Absolutely adore Dr. Rios and his staff. Very knowledgeable and professional! They take the time to get to know your child and have so many different approaches to cater to each specific child. They also are loaded with resources to help set up the next step in helping your child. My daughter is only 2 and We and beyond grateful to have found them. Thanks!!!

Dr Rios and his staff were thorough, caring and explanatory in the process of diagnosis of our son. He and his staff made sure that we understood what was happening, what things meant, and that we had the proper resources to move forward after diagnosis was given. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Rios.

It is an absolute beating tryin to set up an appointment. You have to go thru 2 separate portals to request appointments and when I asked if someone could just call me to set up the appointment I was told to find another physician. Bad service.
