My wife and I have (stupidly) taken our dog to Pet Smart/Banfield for check ups, shots, etc. until one day (about 6 months ago) we had a minor emergency and looked up the closest Vet to us. We ended up taking him to Fondren Animal Hospital (TO OUR DELIGHT!). They were exceptionally nice and friendly and got him treated quickly. A day or two later they followed up by calling us and checking on his status. They genuinely cared and were not just calling for a follow up visit or for future business. Ive never had a Vet do that - much less any other business these days... So, a few days ago our dog had another minor incident (getting into stuff he shouldnt) and we ended up back at Fondren Animal Hospital. They were once again easy, convenient, friendly and and had us in-and-out in no time! AND ONCE AGAIN, they called a day or two later to check on our dog. We wouldnt take our dog anywhere else and are sorry we hadnt discovered them earlier! They are FANTASTIC!! J&D

I had been taking my cats to Memorial Cat Hospital for several years and was extremely satisfied with the care my cats received from everyone, but decided the drive was not convenient. I have taken all three of my cats to Dr. Ford and cant say enough good things about him and his wife. The care has been excellent. I adopted a stray and he was having issues with diarrhea/smelly poo and had not responded to 2 other medication. Also another cat acquired. He put them on a liquid antibiotic that was easy to administer and I think they liked the taste. They are are both well and fine. My other cat came down with a respiratory illness and he is on the upswing. Dr. Ford even called to check on him. I have also changed their diets and am buying food at the clinic. Last, they are priced very reasonably. So, if you are in the Fondren/Sharpstown/Richmond/Tanglewilde area and needing a great vet, I strongly recommend Dr Leo Ford.

Our dog has cancer, and very few vets would actually bother to look at him after he went through radiation treatment. Most others dismissed problems and said, "Probably the cancer advancing and hes dying." Contrary to this, Dr. Ford was very clinical and personable -- he didnt dismiss symptoms and did as anyone *SHOULD* have. He found out that in actuality, our dogs cancer had SHRUNK to a quarter of its original size! The bill at the end was less than half of the other bills we received at other clinics for X-rays and overall examination. Its a little bit of a drive for us, but I will make the trek every time, because the Fords have always been great to us. Great prices and service. I cannot recommend them enough.

We moved to Houston from Colorado last year, and have been through a few highly recommended hospitals. One of them almost killed my dog; granted they could never remember that my dog is female, even while looking at her charts (though they made up for incompetence by being really expensive and in a fancy building with auto lifting benches!) Dr. Ford has been an amazing discovery down here. Practical, fast acting, and bends his schedule for us overly concerned at the last minute dog owners. He is also about half the price of the other hospitals we have been to. We have a 15 year old chocolate lab, a younger mut, and a cat and we highly recommend Dr. Fords practice Fondren Animal Hospital.

I have taken both my cats to the doctor here and he and the lady at the desk were so wonderful to them. The first one is absolutely terrified of needles but he was so patient and so caring, he let me hold her next to the exam table so shed relax even a bit. The second one is a bit of a ditz so she didnt even know what was going on until her examination was done and the needle had already been used. Theyre affordable but not cheap, but the service is definitely worth every dollar. I highly recommend them.

I took my dog here after he appeared to have seizures...plus I live down the street. I pay 500 bucks and then I find out that hes not doing any better ...the labs will not be there until tomorrow and...AND...no one can watch my dog overnight! When they close ...he will be in there unsupervised! I feel ripped off! Update: Theres nothing they can do...

Ive been taking my cats to Fondren Animal Hospital for several years now. You could not find a better vets office. Dr. Ford and his wife Nikki provide great service and great pricing! Dr. Ford is especially good with cats. I highly recommend this vet to anyone! It is worth a longer drive to take your animals here!
