Horrible since they sold out to a large healthcare conglomerate. Ive been going to this practice since 1996 when they were on Hwy 6. I occasionally had long wait times but for the most part the care was great. However a few years ago they sold out and are ultimately a part of Tenet health care. Now every one of my visits has a long wait time followed by a billing nightmare. Since the sellout they have always overcharged me for an office visit and then I have to manually contact them for a refund. At first I believed it was just part of the transition but even after that was over the practice stayed the same. Another HUGE issue is they only refer you to other Tenet healthcare providers when they can. About a year ago they sent me out for some X-rays to one of their Tenet network imaging centers. It was on my insurance but I still asked how much they were going to charge for the X-rays. $1100. I thought was too much so I called the old imaging provider NW Family used to use and it was only $150 for the same X-rays. Thats 730% mark up. Unfortunately they now embody everything thats wrong with our healthcare system. I’m looking for a new GP.

I have been considered by many a tolerant man but this bad experience made me change doctors. I was just trying to get a refill for my cholesterol medicine but they did not want to give me one because I needed to go in to check my cholesterol. I had already been off of it for about two weeks because I was traveling at the time so my cholesterol was going to be high if I were to go the test done. So I asked the nurse to speak to Álvarez for a refill just to put my cholesterol numbers back on track to have the test done correctly. Mind you, I have been on this medication for the past two years so it was working fine. This was going to be a mere formality of a check up. Well, after calling several times and leaving messages only to have them miscommunicated, a month and half has gone by. I finally asked to speak with the doctor to explain to him the issue he was very rude while very supportive of his staffs actions. He ultimately gave me the prescription and I found another doctor.

This family practice is outstanding. I have been going to Dr. Alvarez for about 8 years. He is by far the best and most involved Doctor that I have found. I spent the first 11 years of my life in Houston bouncing around different practices, trying to find a Doctor that was right for me. None of the other doctors seemed to care about me as a person, and many would even forget who I was. Dr. Alvarez took the time to know me, and he always spends time trying to understand the person as opposed to quickly treating a symptom. He is by far the best Doctor that I have seen. His nurses are very good as well, and again, they get to know the person. I highly recommend this folks. Carlos B. Cypress, TX

Dr. Alvarez has been my doctor for over 11 years and I feel confident in his care. However, the office system is horrible. The wait times are extraordinarily long. I waited 1 1/2 hours today and never got to see him because I cant give them that much time of my busy day. The front office blames the Back and the Back office blames the front. If they would ever step back and evaluate their business model. I have waited longer and longer over the years. Its a shame.

Please read the reviews as they are very accurate! I learned this the hard way after calling 20 minutes prior to notify I would be a few minutes late due to traffic coming all the way from 1-10 I was told it would be fine. Well what do you know after arriving in exactly the time I called and stated I was told I would inconvenience the doctors time never mind my gas and time and I was welcomed to sit and wait like a squatter to see if anyone cancelled!

My son had a head injury and they refused to see him. I begged and pleaded to no avail. We where patients. They only responded with cold remarks about driving myself to the er. I was too upset. The least they could have done was stabilize him. Absolutely not. Hands in the air they shewed us away. There really is no reason to go to a practice that acts like they care but will not when it really counts.

Never mind you cannot get a breathing person on the phone for something as simple as setting an appointment. I have to leave several voicemails to get a call back to set said appointment. If you are considering a new primary physician look elsewhere. If this is your primary physician look elsewhere as well, I am. I only give one star because you cannot give negative stars.

Avoid this place! I am a patient person, but they have beyond excessive wait times. Arriving as requested 15 minutes early only to still be in the waiting room almost and hour and a half later. Yes, wait times are expected in dr. office but not like that and this would not be the first time at this location. Plus they blame each other and have no accountability. Next!

Doctors are great, administration is a nightmare. My prescriptions are always phoned to the wrong pharmacy. Then I spend another hour tracking this down, waiting on hold. We have been using this practice for 20 years - I am blown away be the incompetence of the back office and systems. I will be moving my health care needs to a new provider

Front desk staff is horrible!!! Dont ever try to get a prescription refill here because the staff will never give you the right information or even try to help you. Worst front office staff in Texas!!! Find a new doctors office, becuase this one is a waist of time and money!!! Absolutely terrible!

Ive been with Dr. Nelson for nearly 25 years.. He is a fantastic Doctor, and Ive followed him through multiple physical locations.. The long term staff is always great.. Ive seen him for things extremely minor, up to a diagnosis and referral for treatment that literally saved my life..

Been a patient since they opened the doors, and my family trusts Dr. Nelson without hesitation. His nurse Debbie is excellent with communication in office and on the phone. While not a fan of the changes, I will roll with them to keep my doctor.

Dr. Diana Look is the best! She takes time with you, listens, explains and is always smiling and positive. The staff is friendly, helpful and the wait time is not bad. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Doctors are good, but wait is always incredibly long. Asked me to get there 15 minutes early and then waited 35 minutes past my appointment time. Probably better service elsewhere.
