WORST EXPERIENCES! Please save your life and your time and do not go to Seton Hays inless it is the absolute last resort! Visits are in chronological order: 1. i went to Seton Hays was with a high fever of 103 and a handful of other symptoms. i was seen within 3hrs and was given Tylenol while waiting. very polite. 2. My son (a toddler) was having a severe allergic reaction after trying peanuts for the first time. He was lethargic, 104deg fever, vomiting, in and out of consciousness.... they gave us a vomit bag and said we would be right back. 3 hrs later they finally took his vitals a fever of 102. they said take a seat in the waiting room. 3 hrs passed and asked if they could see my son yet. they told me no but soon. another hr1 passed and i demanded something for my son to be done. they kept saying soon but hrs passed as my 1yr old son passed in and out of consciousness, crying and vomiting. we were there a total of 8 and 1/2hrs before they gave us room. they gave him anti-nausea and made us wait another dam 1hr. by that time he had vomited everything up that made him sick. He started to feel better but was still lethargic. they handed us an JR epipen script and told us to go home. Went to fill the prescript and decided to cancel the prescript with out telling us. 3. i was in a serious car accident. my car looked like an accordion. My seat broke in half and my trunk was shoved into my back seat. Ambulance from Seton Hays couldnt tell if i was hurt enough to go to the hospital do to the adrenalin so they told me give it 24hrs. Called Seton the next day because my left side was a mix between numb and pain. they told me to drive there and they would see me because car accidents are a "level 5 emergency" i sat in the waiting room for 6hrs. the gave me a bed in a hallway!!! they rolled me into the hallway!!!!! started to give me IVs and i waited for 3 more hrs in a hospital robe IN THE HALLWAY no privacy and im sure everyone that day saw my butt crack. Finally the gave me a pain killer called dilaudid which did nothing but make me feel cold. after 45min a finally got the CT scans and X-rays i needed. this make 9hrs and 45min i have been here. they placed me back in the hallway..... i waited and waited and waited where they gave me more dilaudid after another hour. making it 10hr 45min. xrays came back and CTs they told me it was muscle related and i can just drive home now. after 2 doses of pain killers which didnt kill the pain they wanted me to just drive home. 4. My sister is a high risk pregnancy and was having symptoms of contractions but she was only 7months. so we waited to see if it would pass but it only got worse and she was having shortness of breath. called her ob and there was no dr or personnel available so they referred us to Seton hays since its the closest hospital and ER. they got her in back in less than 45min after getting her information. Nurse on staff was rude. Dr. was nice. they failed at putting in her IV several times and blew a vein. after blowing a vein the nurse just tapped the wound with out putting pressure. she began to bleed down her arm. after getting her attention the nurse rolled her eyes and with out gloves wiped up the blood and stood there putting pressure with an attitude. They told her that her OBGYN should have seen her there was no reason for her to be at Seton hays and that she was better off going to Austin because her ob doesnt come to seton hays. Didnt ask any significant or important questions about the high risk pregnancy just ignored us when we explaining what was going on. VERY RUDE. this happened just yesterday as well.

This place will turn you away, even with proof of Insurance. First off, they couldnt diagnose a simple, text book case of the Hives. I went there after suffering for 3 wks with this skin condition and was considering suicide, it itched so bad. They gave me enough medicine for 6 days, which I thought had cured my condition. It didnt, came right back and when I tried to return to Emergence Room, was told that it was for LIFE THREATENING CONDITIONS ONLY and was told that if I insisted on signing in to ER that the Dr.s werent going to do anything for me, since I had been there the previous week for the same thing. But they would be glad to bill me anyway even though they wouldnt treat me. Thats funny, saw some people that were waiting in the waiting room and they didnt look like they were dying. Seton sure didnt think so, left them in the waiting room. My whole face, head and neck were swollen at time of second visit, wasnt sure I would be able to drive home, eyes were swelling shut. According to the phamphlet I got from a real Medical Facility(Diagnostic Clinic), I was in danger of DYING, because Hives can close off your airway and KILL YOU. Next morning, I couldnt open my eyes because of swelling and didnt know the danger I was in, thanks to Seton ER. This could have been avoided, all this happened on a Friday and I dont know about you, but I dont know of any Dr.s who can see you, the day you call, especially Friday at 3PM. Avoid this Emergence Room, unless you have an obvious injury, you know something simple like a stubbed toe, which they might be able to diagnose. Took Diagnostic Clinic about 10secs to diagnose my condition.

My mother was in the ICU for 4 weeks after having her heart stop twice. Let me first say thank you to the Dr. who revived my mother twice to allow me and her family to speak with her and for her to recognize and acknowledge everyone. As for the nurses and staff most were caring and attentive to my mom. There are really 2 staff members I had a bad experience with which were the social worker that was suppose to keep us informed about the status my mother was in the day she was brought in. I dont remember her name but in an emergency situation such as what we went through a family wants to know the status of their loved one in as quickly as possible and the social worker was non existant till my dad had to ask status. The other issue was with a nurse by the name of Letty in the ICU unit. She seemed un caring and rude. First when a family is going through a difficult situation such as this you want staff to be aware of the situation the family is going through and be caring or at least act like it. One example I will give is my mother was alert on this particular day that I went to visit her and she spoke a full sentence twice and I saw it , mind you I am the type of person I have to see it to believe it. Well the next week I brought this up with my dad out loud and she was the nurse on duty ya lucky me and she said no I dont believe it she has a tracheotomy she cant speak ok thank you for entering the conversation unwanted but I kindly told her let me rephrase what I said I saw her mouth the sentences. This type of person has no business in a profession where sympathy and caring is in the job description.
