This dental office deserves 5 stars and heres why... Reception Desk: All three ladies at the front desk were kind and welcoming. They gave off a friendly and relaxed vibe. I went in a little nervous because I had a horrible experience at my former dental office Celebrate Dental on Marbach (dont go there unless to want to over pay for horrible dental service); but sure enough all three receptionist made me feel welcomed and when finalizing my payments, they went through each payment method and worked with my payment dates. X-Ray Technician: I forgot her name but she was really nice and explained the process of the tools she was going to use and wasnt aggressive with the mouth piece used for the x-rays. Dentist Hatfield: When I met dentist Hatfield, she was friendly and attentive when talking to me about my x-rays, gums, and teeth. I went in nervous telling her at my former dentist office I was told I was going to need 2 fillings; and she made it clear that was not the case and saved me from a huge scam! Tuns out I have a clenching and grinding problem with my teeth. As she explained this to me she was very informative, she knew what she was talking about and even showed me on my X-rays how clenching and grinding my teeth are being effected. In addition, she answered all my questions in regards to teeth whitening and better oral hygiene. Dental Cleaning: I believe her name is Christina, she did her job extremely well. I have sensitive gums and she handled my teeth and gums with care. I also have two sensitive teeth one on each side of my mouth and she would give me a heads up when she used the water tool and the air tool during my teeth cleaning. The flossing care was beyond amazing. As i mentioned that I have sensitive gums, she was gentle as she flossed each tooth. Mouth Guard Molding: Theres one more staff member, I forgot her name; she did the molding of my mouth guard. I appreciate her explaining and walking me through the process. She was professional and was a cool person to talk to. It has been a little over a week since my visit to Culebra Smile and Orthodontics and my teeth still feel clean and smooth as the day I got them cleaned; and my gums feel much less sensitive than they used to be. I highly recommend this dental office, great staff and great service!

The clinic staff is wonderful: professional, friendly, efficient. Appointments are easy to obtain, check-in is quick and painless, phone calls are answered promptly and Ive never been put on hold. Insurance and costs are clearly discussed when establishing treatment plans and the staff presents all options available with no pressure or "up-selling." My hygienist, Christina, is very skilled and knowledgeable and always on the alert for issues that need to be referred to the dentist. My dentist, hopefully for a very long time, is Dr Benavides. He is the best Ive encountered in a very long time and goes above and beyond to communicate every step of the process at hand with the patient and gives patient comfort the highest priority. His assistant, Eugenia, is equally skilled, personable, friendly, and professional. I couldnt be happier with the care Ive received from this group, and I HIGHLY recommend Dr Benavides specifically. Ive been in the care of many dental professionals in my 61 years and they have fallen across the spectrum from very good to really bad (uncaring, impatient, rushed, lousy chairside manner, etc), and I can say without hesitation that Dr Benavides sits well above all of them. Disclaimer: I suffered some very unpleasant and traumatic issues with another dentist in this practice, so I want to make it clear that my review here is specifically regarding the wonderful care Ive received from Dr. Benavides, who has easily corrected and made up for the negatives previously experienced.

For an adult I definitely recommend this place. Christina the hygienist was wonderful, and Dr Bienevides was great. However, my daughter was handled very roughly for being 7 by the dental assistant. Never has my daughter been scared of the dentist and when my daughter told her she was choking on her saliva, the lady told her to hold on and wait. I had to hold back multiple times with this lady, but my daughter had enough and ran out of the room. The assistant was very rough and not kid friendly at all. These are children and if you dont like your job then I suggest you work at an all adult practice. She was very unprofessional and shouldnt be around children. My hygienist Christina had the suction in my mouth the whole time, because I do salivate during cleanings. How is they did it for me and not for my 7 year old. My opinion is based on this particular dental assistant. Older blonde lady who looks like she hates her job and not wanting to be there. Shes a reflection on the facility, and highly recommend considering someone else who has patience with kids doing her job.

Been having orthodontic treatment here for almost a year with another year to go. I am paying 100% put of pocket and the orthodontist is fantastic. However, the office staff is completely incompetent and rude. They messed something up and stopped drafting payments from my bank account. They never called me to tell me or anything. I set up draft payments so thay I didnt have to worry about it, i know if i was not getting paid for 5 months, i would make a phone call. Finally I saw on my account that it wasnt drafting and they were extremely rude when i brought it up. They also insist on asking for my parents every time I come in. Im married and have a mortgage and am paying 4000$ to be talked to like a child while i make far more than half the office staff. Ive also winessed the staff being rude to EACH OTHER. The doctor is great but the office staff is a complete joke.

2 years ago I received a crown from here which was the kind they do in office- same day which basically means extremely expensive. I believe we spent around 800$ on it because we were told it was the best of the best. Well that might have been true about the crown but 2 years later it started bugging me so I went to a different dentist and they touched the crown and it fell off, revealing a completely rotten tooth underneath it and I was told it couldnt be saved. My current dentist let me know that there must have been cavity still on the tooth underneath the crown when they cemented the crown on top of it which resulted in this. So 1200$ later, I had to get a bridge. This shouldnt have happened and could have been prevented. I will NEVER go here again. So incredibly disappointed in the service I received here.

My wife and I have been using Culebra Smiles and Orthodontics since it opened several ago. Since Dr. Janik took over the practice it has become an even better dental office than it was already. She and her very professional staff have always been professional and caring. Our only concern has been some noticeable and somewhat frequent rotation in the front office staff, but that has not detracted from their courtesy and efficiency, nor their prompt and friendly reminders of upcoming appointments. Routine dental cleaning is a critical component to dental health and Christina is one of the best dental hygienists we have had the pleasure to work with. We can highly recommend Culebra Smiles and Orthodontics.
