This was our first time going to Little Spurs clinic off of Bandera and 1604. We didnt have a good experience. First off I called ahead because my son had a undiagnosed rash that I thought could be contagious. The front desk receptionist was very helpful in letting me know that we would be taken to a private room when we got there. which was completely understandable. As Im sitting in the room trying to stay calm cause Im a new mom and everything freaks me out. I hear one of the MAs talking about my son saying that she doesnt want to go into the room thats its gross. She also said that she is going to take a shower as soon as she gets off and proceeded to tell whoever she was speaking with that shes going in as she laughs. I guess thats when I figured out she was talking about my sons situation. As if my son being sick was because he was dirty. As a mom who is worried about her son I didnt appreciate how unprofessional and inconsiderate this person was. I cant believe she works with children! Im so glad that my son wasnt old enough to understand what this person was saying about him. She should definitely watch her volume next time shes ranting about some poor child. Needless to say we will NEVER!!!!!!! go back to Little Spurs.

We have given the Bandera and 1604 clinic a few chances and each one less promising than the previous visit. My daughter had damage to her eye and hysterical when entering. No one at the desk asked what is she coming in for or anything just handed us paperwork and that was that. My husband asked what the wait time would be and the receptionist replied we would have to wait to get her assessed in order to prioritize her. As I understand, but the other children in the waiting room were smiling walking around or on their phone taking silly pictures of themselves, all the while my daughter is screaming. I dont expect to walk in and they completely serve us as I am aware there are other children but in an urgent/emergent care setting it is all about prioritizing. Aside from that, they are rather rude and cold. The receptionist is up there to just collect a pay check. We truly only go to an urgent care setting when we feel it is absolutely necessary as we are private pay. Dont take your kids here. Take a slightly longer drive and go to the Stone Ridge location.

I WENT THERE AFTER MY SON HAD A BITE AND IT LOOKED LIKE IT WAS TURNING INTO A STAPH INFECTION , AND SHE SAID IT WAS NOT STAPH IT WAS A BEE STING AND MY HUSBAND HAS HAD STAPH SO HE KNEW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AND HOW IT GETS.. SHE PICKED IT OPEN AND DID NOT WEAR GLOVES, AND SAID A LITTLE STINGER CAME OUT THAT I DIDNT SEE AT ALL... NEXT DAY IT GOT REAL BIG SO I TOOK HIM TO HIS PRIMARY DOCTOR AND HE SAID I NEEDED TO GO BACK TO THE URGENT CARE AND GET IT DRAINED BECAUSE IT HAD GOTTEN A LOT OF PUS. SO I TOOK HIM AND SHE CUT HIM A LITTLE AND SQUEEZED IT FOR THE PUS TO COME OUT SHE DID NOT NUMB THE AREA SO MY SON SCREAMED. HES 7... SO I WENT HOME... THE NEXT DAY HIS ARM HAD GOTTEN SO BIG AND SO SWOLLEN SO I TOOK HIM BACK AND SHE ADMITTED SHE WAS WRONG AND SHE SAID I HAD TO TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL SO THEY CAN DRAIN IT BETTER.. SO I TOOK HIM AND HE ENDED UP NEEDING SURGERY AND IT WAS A VERY HARD EXPERIENCE EVER.. SO I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE.. NOT SAYING ALL THE DOCTORS THERE ARE BAD JUST THAT ONE DOCTOR I DO NOT RECOMEND ANYONE TO TAKE THERE CHILD TO HER.......

We went to the clinic in Wells Branch Pkwy based on pamphlet in school. My son had a foreign object in his nose. We had called earlier and they had confirmed they could remove it. Once we went in, 1) They took their time processing him in 2) The doctor was actually searching for instruments to take the foreign object out. He was asking the nurse what they had in the clinic. 3) The nurse was completely useless, and seemed to have no idea how to keep my son still. 4) He tried with whatever instruments he could find, in effect lodging the object deeper in my sons nose. And started a nosebleed. We had to rush to the emergency room, where the doctor said it was so deep, she would have to sedate him (full anasthaesia). Based on the ER doctors recommendation, we opted to go to another ENT who finally succeeded in removing the object after local numbing. DONT GO THERE.....

Anyone who says they had a bad experience here has never had to take their child to the E.R. Dr. Perryman listened to me, actually listened to me, she didnt just jot down the words I was saying. Because she did this we were able to pin down what was wrong with my daughter almost instantly and then confirm our suspicions with lab tests. Jocelyn, the LVN whom took care of us, was kind and efficient. She was able to get a sample from my daughter for testing w/o much of a fuss at all (a small miracle when dealing with a sick toddler).I hadnt meet my annual deductible so I was so scared I was going to walk out there penniless. However, the price was reasonable and fair. I work at a hospital and the E.R. and other services at my hospital are provided to me nearly for free. Even with that being said I would pick Little Spurs evey time.

RUDE RECEPTIONISTS. I have a 4 years old sick child. My pediatrician referred us to go to this urgent care. Before we went, I called them for information. The staff answered all my questions impatiently & rudely. When we showed up, the receptionist said they dont take HMO. Is HMO not insurance? To make sure I would leave, another staff ensured me that if I see the doctor there, I would have to pay OUT-OF-POCKET. I have lived in different states & been to many clinics/hospitals. This is by far the worst! Luckily, my husband found me another urgent care that I could take my child to...its called Complete Urgent Care on Culebra. Its a world of difference...the receptionist is friendly & helpful. The nurse is nice & patient. The doctor is competent. And, they surely take MOST INSURANCE, unlike Little Spurs claims.

Very unprofessional. Called to ask a simple yes or no question that anyone employed there should be able to answer. Was forced to give name DOB etc just to be transferred to nurse. Then given more run around and more questions to FINALLY get an answer. Then when I questioned why they couldnt answer without all the info I was forced to supply, the nurse (speaking to Dr. Tezel? apparently next to her) claimed I was yelling at her and that she wanted to hang up. The doc then came on the phone to defend her staff and say that my question was answered. Told her she could not obviously hear my end of the conversation where I asked several times and gave much unnecessary information to multiple people. Lost my business for sure, and I will share my experience with all the pediatricians I call on in San Antonio.

Our experience was a very good one. My daughter had STREP, and I believe that she actually had it for quite some time as the pedi nurse at our clinic in Houston never seems to take the time to swab her throat well. So on vacation in San Antonio I ended up taking her to Little Spurs where the nurse was so very nice and really swabbed her throat thoroughly with two large q-tips, and I was not at all surprised when it came back positive. The nurse practitioner was exceptional and prescribed a strong antibiotic to knock it out. They also did a chest x-ray because my daughter was complaining of pain when inhaling. The receptionists were not A+ customer service agents but were pleasant and did their jobs well. Being out of town and having this clinic available was such a relief for us!
