Let me be the first to say, Dr. Tamayo is the BEST pediatric doctor I have ever met. From the age of 2mths-1 year I went from pedi to pedi looking for the "right" doctor for my daughter with no luck at all. It was a battle up until a little before my daughter turned 2. I was desperate to find a good doctor because my daughter has asthma, and the doctor we were going to was no help AT ALL. Taking my daughter to Dr. Tamayo was the best thing I could have done for my daughter. She is always there for us, she knows my daughter right when she sees her, and she always gives the best care possible. How many 3 year olds do you know who get excited to go to the doctor? The relationship we have built in the time we have been there is excellent, and I pray she is around as my daughter grows, and when I have another child. The staff is pretty sweet too, I love them. They are always so helpful. I had read reviews about them, but honestly have never ever witnessed or experienced them being rude or anything. HIGHLY Recommend!!!

Dr. Tamayo is wonderful and it is obvious she loves kids. She has always been respectful of my more natural choices and gushes over my kids. However some of their staff is typically rude. My mom noticed and so did my husband. One nurse in particular named Liz I believe. Deal with someone else when possible. She never smiles, is not helpful and always seems to be bothered when Im only expecting her to do her job. My opinion of their office would change greatly if they got rid of her.

I switched my two young boys from a slow family practice to Helotes Pediatrics and have been so happy. We never wait more than 20 minutes even with several patients in the waiting room. The staff is so great with both of my boys. And the doctors are so friendly and understanding. Everyone there is very professional, polite and willing to answer any of your parenting questions. I would recommend them to anyone with children.

The Doctor is great. However, the front desk staff is rude, Not gentle or caring at all. They said they can wait for 10 min later due to traffic issue. But they cannot wait for 13 min, and they told you rudely that you are LATE by 13 min, not considering the sickness of the kid. We had to leave and go to emergency hospital. Definitely we are not treated like a valued patient. They dont care.

From kindergarten to high school my children have relied on the medical care and advice of Dr. Gideon. As parents we are thankful for the quality time she affords our entire family. My daughters have heard her knowledgeable advise on growing up issues during our routine and not so routine visits. Can say enough about the entire Helotes Pediatrics team.

Dr. Gideon is amazing. Shes very nice and caring and tries to make the visit as easy as possible for my daughter. She doesnt rush you and lets you ask all the questions you need, even the kind of obvious ones. Her staff is great and gentle towards the kids. Ive been taking my daughter there for 3 years and I cant imagine taking her anywhere else.

Dr. Giedon is the BEST!! She takes so much time with our daughter, and she never dismisses us like most pediatricians that just say "wait it out, it will pass." Office staff are extremely rude, and do not do what they say they will do. I.E., fax my daughters immunization records. But Dr. Gideon is so awesome, the good outweight the bad.

They gladly take your money, but the wait for an appointment is about an hour for 10 minutes of check up and consultation. The staff is really a disappointment, they had to reschedule me because the Dr. was out to administer the flu shot the second appointment they ran out of the flu shot and now there is no more flu shot. FIRED!

Doctors are sweet, but the office is not accommodating. They NEVER have appointments available for your sick baby and they cant even fax over shot records to a daycare. We always have to end up going to an urgent care for a cold because Helotes Pediatrics wont take your baby.

Love this place! The wait time is low, they are extremely personable and caring! They are also cognizant of what medicines different insurance policies cover, and are mindful of costs to patients. Mrs. Bartel is very attentive and friendly!

I have nothing but good things to say about Helotes Pediatrics. They are always very accommodating. Both Doctor Tamayo and Gideon are great! They always take their time and listen and are very thorough. I would recommend them to everyone.

Both Drs are great. However, we were extremely disappointed when they discontinued taking our insurance. Felt a little abandoned, havent found a pediatrician that comes close. As for the staff, reason for my four stars instead of five.

Dr. Tamayo is the best, very sweet and does a thorough check up every time. The nurse is also very good, especially when my little one got shots. We have moved and have yet to find a pedriatrician as good.

I grew up in helotes for over 40 yrs and really can apreciate good friendly service. I have an 8 yr old along with a 6 yr old. Both dr. Tamayo and dr. Gideon have been super and are very children friendly.

Dr. Gideon is an amazing doctor.. HOWEVER her staff is horrible! I had to call them everyday for 3 weeks to get them to fax my sons shot records for another doctor! VERY disappointed!
