ETMC does not care for East Texas. I tried to simple comment on the surgeon but since they continue to delete it I have now posted as a review. Do not be fooled. My experience as a patient showed me just how shoddy their patient care is. Dr Devinney and his staff are not in touch with their patients, provide questionable surgical skills, do not provide follow up care, Devinney has been reprimanded for this in Texas and Florida, dreadful in office communication with Devinney, Johnson pa, and Meharry np all providing differing and at times conflicting plan of care orders and answers to your questions, Meharry will even refuse to allow you to speak with the surgeon to clarify conflicting plan of care orders, I was dismissed as a patient after bringing her refusal to the attention of upper management. After 3 failed surgeries all by Devinney, Devinney referred me to a surgeon in Dallas who advised me any surgeon who knew what they were doing could have fixed my hip injury in one surgery and I would still have my mobility. Unfortunately, I am permanently crippled due to too much bone being taken off my hip and at the wrong angle. Please be careful and research your surgeon. The hospital service is just as deplorable and the only action they will take if you dare to say anything negative is give you a shirt. Never leave your family member alone here and if you have any doubts about your care dont wait to contact a lawyer. In the state of Texas you have 2 years to file and ETMC will deceive you until you are past the time frame. The Feds need to look into much more than just the EMS throwbacks.

This is the letter I sent To Whom it May Concern: On the evening of 02/07/2016 I was taken to ETMC Quitman by a family member. I had been running fever, having violent shakes from fever, congested, cough, sore throat, swollen almost closed throat, vomiting and had been in this condition for several days with no relief. I went into the ER and was being checked in by a family member where he provided my BCBS HMO insurance. After a while I was called into triage and the nurse checked my vitals, temp, and oxygen. I told her I felt like I have the Flu. She informed me that the Flu was not an emergency and that ETMC would not be seeing me. She gave a patients rights form and triage paperwork that I had to sign. At this point I started to vomit and she kept rushing me out of the room. I asked her what happened if I continued to get worse and she shrugged her shoulders and told me to go see my PCP. I asked her who I sued in the even that something bad happened to me and she shrugged her shoulders again. On 02/08/2016 I did go see my PCP. By Wednesday I had been diagnosed with possible Flu, 100% Strep and pneumonia. So my question is. Why did ETMC refuse my services? I was insured and very sick. I needed some medical care and was unable to get any from ETMC. This will be the second time that ETMC has treaded me with less than quality of care. I look forward to an answer. I have contacted BCBS and complained about your services. I know that ETMC and BCBS are in a lawsuit but I hope that did not effect the way I was treated at your facility.

in regards to fremont ca paramedics. I called in for a price adjustment. i got on the phone with the supervisor and she clearly thought lightly of mine and probably everyone she speaks withs intelligence. at first she said that my price could not be lowered. moments later she gave me a 20% discount(lie #1). 20% off of 1200 brought me to approx 900. $900 for a 2 mile drive is still too expensive. i asked for a better discount and she said that she isnt even allowed to give the 20% discount, she needed authorization(lie #2), and that any further deductions would need to come from her supervisor. the supervisor said that her supervisor was busy and if i leave her my number she would have her supervisor call me back(lie #3). as predicted, i was never called. this was just a shady technique to get me off the phone in hopes that i would give up and pay their ridiculous price. I am still attempting to speak with the main supervisor but they arent making it easy. shes either not there or shes always busy. in a business, especially one such as this, these kinds of customer relations are unacceptable. they work with people in a time of hardship, and treating people like this after someone goes to the hospital is shameful. this isnt a used car lot, id appreciate some honesty and help. im trying to pay my friends hospital bill that i cant afford and all they do is swindle and cold shoulder me until i pay their outrageous price. they arent here to help you, just exploit you.

First, I only gave 4 stars, because NO hospital is that good...that means rating the cafeteria. Over the last 28 months, I have had 2 total knee replacements, 1 torn rotator cuff repair, I VERY major spinal fusion 360, and another knee replacement. I have had experiences with both ETMC and TMF, and I sprinkled in a shot of Dallas Presbyterian for good measure. First, do NOT ever, ever go to Dallas Pres. My surgeon was ok (great as far as the procedure was; freaking horrible post-op and I never saw him after). So, after some involuntarily times to review, I am playing on a level field. My system is based on "post-operative" care, not the surgeon. If the surgeons did not have impressive history, then it was my own damn fault for using them in spite of that. So, by far, if you want the best post-op, and your family to feel comfortable when they go home, choose ETMC if at all possible, ESPECIALLY for ANY post-op physical therapy, in- and out- patient. TMF simply does not have the capabilities to reach full physical therapy goals. After you are discharged, you will have out-patient therapy. You will want to go to ETMC, especially if you ignore this review. The selling point is this: post-op care prior to discharge is always a crap-shoot, because you cant control every single encounter you have with hospital staff, especially after surgery. There will always be at least one bad issue. But you can control how you are treated after discharge.

My mother had a tragic auto accident in East Texas this past week and my Dallas-based orthopedic surgeon recommended that she receive all of her surgeries and patient care at ETMC Tyler. Were a week into her trauma surgeries and we couldnt be more pleased with the doctors and nursing staff at their healthcare system flagship hospital in Tyler, Texas. Dr. Joseph Conflitti, D.O. has been her primary surgeon because she suffered multiple broken bones. From the onset in the E.R. visit, into the operating room and then post operative briefings he has shown to be a good listener, experienced surgeon and an approachable conversationalist. The care and concern exercised from every staff member in the hospital has been the best weve ever experienced. Everyone is so very nice - most especially the nurses and patient care associates, but also the folks on the phone, physical therapists, cafeteria food staff, sanitation... everyone. Well, perhaps the radiology ninjas could use a greater dose of those down-home Tyler people skills, but this is a huge system and theres always room for improvement wherever you might find yourself in the world. Thank you, ETMC Tyler, for caring about your people and delivering on the promise.
