Called Banfield yesterday to ask if they have the medicine my dog needs (my vet didnt have it this time) and to find out the price. Was quoted $36.50 for the meds and scored a coupon for a free exam through their website. Scheduled an appointment and had my vet fax records over so we wouldnt have to duplicate tests wed already done. Arrived 20 minutes early, was taken in 10 minutes late. My promptness and their tardiness made for a long wait. Once in the exam room, the vet badgered me until I agreed to a test I didnt think my dog needed. I wanted to leave, but the medicine is hard to find and he really needed it, so I agreed to this one test, for an additional $38.67. I was limited on time and told them so. I had already been in the exam room for 20 minutes. This seemed to slow them down even more. Again I said "I really need to go." and finally was escorted to the check out desk. The girl checking us out says, "$129.52." Um, no maam. I told her I was quoted the price prior to scheduling and she asked if I had talked to the doctor about it. No, didnt need to. Got the price yesterday. She essentially tells me too bad, so sad. Fortunately my phone records all calls. After disappearing to the back for what seemed an eternity, (forgot to mention it was like an oven in there) she reappeared and slowwwly began the process of taking off the extra charge. When I asked about the unreasonable temperature, I was told "Corporate sets it. Nothing we can do here but suffer in the heat." I feel sorry for all the dogs in their clinic. It was HOT. What a hassle. Wont be going there again. That $50 makes a big difference in our weekly budget, but Banfield didnt care. Too expensive, too sneaky, too slow, too hot in there.

I cant believe how ridiculous the people that work here are. They never have accurate records- they can NEVER find us in the system. We originally started our puppy plan in Southlake and trying to switch to a different location was a nightmare for starters. Even though I pay hundreds of dollars up front for a dog plan, it seems I am always being charged for something or "the plan is expired", etc. I had to pay full price for neutering my dog because they conveniently forgot to tell me that after 5 months old, the plan will not pay for the neuter. My dog is also TERRIFIED of coming here- he normally loves going places especially petsmart. He literally shakes and I have to drag him to go in. They also take FOREVER. I have dropped my dog early in the morning and call all day and he is never ready. I feel terrible for taking my dog here but I have been sucked into a very expensive plan with a very unexperienced group of employees.

My experience with Banfield was horrible. I read the reviews and was hoping these people were wrong, but theyre not. The veterinarian didnt know very much, she avoided every question I asked her. My visit wasnt very cheap, and I certainly turned down their stupid scam with the health care plan. They charged me for a blood cell count test AND for the process of actually drawing the blood. Im just glad my dog bit the damn woman. I will never return to ANY Banfield or Petsmart for that matter.

Took 2 dogs in for their annual vaccinations and heartworm tests. Bill was over 400.00 for the 12month health care plan that they assumed I wanted. This service includes the vaccinations plus 50 percent off their unbelievably inflated prices. When I told them I didnt want the health care plan, but just wanted to pay for the services rendered.....it was the same price!!!! Unbelievable. Plus they try to jam other services down your throat...teeth cleaning, grooming, etc. Horrible.

We were new to the area and my husband was 10 minutes late after turning onto the wrong Street. When he did arrive he stood at the desk for 10 minutes waiting for someone to help him. The very rude person behind the desk said he was 30 minutes late and refused to see him. There was not one other animal in the clinic...When I called to find out what happened she answers the phone...How can I help your pet today...Totally a traumatic, uncaring experience.

told me to take my dog to hospital because they thought he was having seizure. Turn out it wasnt, the hospital called and explained the dog did not have to be in the hospital and Banfield refused to see my dog; saying they are very busy and I need to take my dog to different Banfield!!!! They did not have problem taking my $$$ every month!!! They dont even deserve 1 star from me.

Zeva LOVES her new doctor, twice we have had concerns and just showed up with her and they take the time to look her over for us. Great vet and staff they take great care of her for us.
