Went in for acne first in December 2013. After waiting 30 minutes in the mediocre patient room for Dr. Harrison, he spent about 5 minutes with me. He started by telling me that adult female acne was from hormones. He then called out the types of acne he saw with his magnifying glass to his nurse, and prescribed me pills (which I stopped using after 3 days because they made me nauseated), and a topical gel Acanya that I had to call a 3rd party company for. I wasnt sure why he seemed so dismissive and attributed it to him seeing so much of the same thing each day. The next visit was in October 2015. I again went in for acne and he again had me waiting 30 minutes despite my appointment being at 8am and I was his first patient. Apparently, according to the nurses, he doesnt get in until 8:30. So why have an appointment that early!? During this visit he was quick to tell me he can give me another scrip for the topical gel, and that if my skin was dry he could have me try another type. I told him "no not really," to his inquiry, where he promptly said, "I will prescribe it to you anyway so you can try it out and decide. This kind has moisturizer in it." (which, by the way, actually dried out my skin more than the Acanya). Heres where I really got peeved: I asked him to look at a mole on my hip/glute area that seemed quite similar to a basal cell carcinoma he had on his posters. He said we could do it same visit and it wouldnt take long. He ended up "shaving" off the mole and sending it to a pathologist to have analyzed. He said its standard procedure to set up a follow up to check my wound area to be sure its healing, so I set a follow up. Anxious to hear my results, I called a few times to get the pathologist report, and the nurse said its an atypical spitz nevus, which looks like a melanoma and needs to be dug out. A) I was horrified and B) I didnt really understand what any of it meant. The nurse told me to keep my appointment in a week and a half to have the mole cut out. I had to wait that week and a half until my follow up to have Dr. Harrison tell me that we needed to dig the rest of the mole out. He didnt even call me. To top it off, during my visit I was under the impression wed be digging out the mole. Apparently the nurse has not communicated this to anyone else, and had me still scheduled that day as a follow up. Long story short, I got in the next morning for surgery as he had a cancellation. He tried telling me it wasnt a big deal and I could even wait up to two months to have it removed, but I think he neglected to understand my panic at the risk for cancer in my body. When surgery happened, they made me wait 35 minutes to be numbed, when they said it would only need 15. the table was incredibly uncomfortable and I laid there until they finished cutting and stitching 20 minutes later. I have never seen such a shoddy suture job. I was charged a copay at each of these appointments despite the second being a follow up, and I am not looking forward to my follow up in 5 days to get the sutures removed. I will not be returning to Dr. Paul Harrison. I should have done what my other friends did and went to a plastic surgeon.

I used to work for Dr. Harrison & it was horrible. He would make patients wait 30 minutes to an hour & a half, basically my job was to apologize to everyone. Highest employee & patient turnover rate Ive ever seen. Patients would wait days for Dr. Harrison to even bother sending over the rx order to the pharmacy. The surgery room that was supposed to be "clean," had blood on the floor from previous patients. I received phone calls from patients threatening to sue him for negligence & sexual harassment. My current employer had mohs surgery through him & said hed never go back. Ive taken my husband to Dr. Brimhall at Swinyer-Woseth derm. in Holladay for mohs multiple times, they are very professional, caring, & fast. I wouldnt waste your time with Dr. Harrison.

I went in to have him look at a rash. Over a month and a few visits he gave zero diagnosis, except for prescribing increasingly expensive topical creams before I went to an instacare for a 2nd opinion. Immediately I was told it was a very common rash that would clear up on its own and that creams were only helpful if it itched. Never had any itching. Didnt buy Harrisons $250 cream and the rash cleared up on its own. Concerns me that a dermatologist wouldnt be able to diagnose a common rash that a general practitioner recognized right away. I assume he knew it would clear up on its own but knew he could make some money off of me like a shady auto mechanic. Stay away!!

My husband has had 4 surgeries for skin cancer performed by Dr. Harrison. (2 squamous cell carcinoma in his scalp, 1 basal cell carcinoma on his nose, and 1 melanoma on his neck) Dr. Harrison did a GREAT job, diagnosis and treatment were accurate and thourough. He even made the neck scar disappear into a crease in his neck, so its less visible. We have been seeing Dr. Harrison for 5 years and my father in law saw him for several years before that. We are happy with care we have received at True Skin Dermatology. We will continue going there.

Dr. Harrison is a miracle maker! He treated an issue that no other dermatologist had any success correcting in many years of attempts. In fact I was informed by another Dr. that the condition would require skin grafting and still may return. Dr. Harrison correctly prescribed the right combination that cured the condition beyond expectations and no expensive operations! The staff is very professional and the office is always impeccable. Highest recommendation! Would give him 100 stars if possible!

I went to Dr. Harrison about five times the last few years with different problems. Each time he made an accurate diagnosis and cleared up the condition with the proper treatment. He is very thorough and spends a good amount of time explaining the treatment plan. My husband also goes to him and is equally satisfied. His staff was very friendly and the waiting time was under five minutes before being taken to a room. I would highly recommend him.

I have seen Dr. Harrison for years for my skin cancers. He is very professional and thorough on his exams. He also helped my husband when he had skin cancer on his face. He is a skilled MOHS surgeon. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs a full service dermatologist.
