I am giving two stars instead of one because I have had a good experience with Amor up until the last several months. I have used their grooming service for about 2 years now. I took my dog in about every 3 months and their groomers did a great job. The first mishap occurred 2 visits ago where they gave my dog vaccinations (Bordatella and another) WITHOUT my permission. I took that as an isolated instance and moved on. I scheduled my dog for her grooming appt. on Monday this week, and when I called I asked if she needed any vaccinations beforehand she said "No, she is good for now, but will need her Bordatella before the following groom". I stopped in this morning to drop her off and to my surprise, they told me she needed her rabies shot. I asked why they are now bringing this to my attention, and not when I booked her appt. on Monday. I asked how much do they charge for the vaccination, and they quoted me $40 for the rabies shot, and another $50 for the "exam", totaling $90!! This is DOUBLE what I generally pay for another local vet. Not to mention, I dont believe an exam is necessary for a vaccination. I think an exam is necessary if I have a general concern and I am present for the exam to ask the Veterinarian questions. Bottom line is this; I think this practice is shenanigans, and I felt coerced into having them do the vaccination to avoid me having to take my dog back home. I had to agree to the rabies shot fee in order to get her groomed today. I opted to take her back home due to principal, and I would like to understand how this makes business sense to effectively operate a clinic where they struggle with organization and staying competitively priced in their vet services. I will not return to this clinic and I encourage you to be mindful if you do consider them.

Was referred to come to Amor by my sister-in-law. She told me that it was a great place to get my puppys first round of vaccines because they let you hold your pup so they dont get scared; well that is not the case for me. The lady vet who came in was very uncaring and talked down to me. She hardly gave me any information either, about the vaccines or anything else. Every visit after this first one has been less than fair. It is always a different vet that comes in and checks out my puppy. Not to mention I get charged $50 for an examination fee, but my dog is NEVER examined the way he should be. This last visit was the worst; I took my pup to get his last round of shots, and they decided to give a rabies shot as well. According to research I have done, a rabies shot should be given isolated, without any other vaccines. My poor pup had the WORST reaction to his booster and rabies shot together, and the worst part is the old-guy vet (no one gives their name here) did not tell me of any side-effects my dog could have. I called Amor and they were less than helpful about the situation. They basically said they could not help me unless I brought my pup in for an examination. Its a good think he is a strong immune system because there was no way I was taking him in. Amor is a horrible place to take your pet. They are overpriced and extremely uncaring. I will be taking my pup to another vet, and will be telling all my friends to never visit this "establishment".

Called for a quote for a bunny neuter, when I arrived the estimate was significantly higher. After the front desk gal looked into the cost she spoke with the surgeon and they honored the estimate I was given. The front desk was hectic but the ladies were all nice. They called me just a short time later letting me know our bunny was done. They suggested us getting a baby onesie and cutting a hole underneath for his tail and so he could relieve himself as that what they put him in after surgery. Knowing it would be difficult handling my bunny carefully after surgery and knowing he would not want to be handled I asked if we could keep the onesie he was in and return it when we took him to get his stitches out. They answered no because they were short onesies because no one was returning them (I would think this cost would of been covered in the quote as dressing but it was not). I proceeded to dress my bunny at home and handle him and he wasnt having it and I cut the hole a little to high, by the time I got it on he peed so now I was worried about his suture have pee on it. I took the onesie off and put his cage near me during the night so I could constantly check he was not bothering his stitches. End result they were great I just wish the onesie would have been left on. He never bothered the sutures we just added unnecessary stress to our little guy. He is healing great. I have definitely found the vet clinic for our bunny

I truly LOVE Dr. Sickelsmith. He is the BEST around. When our kitties are not themselves, he actually emails and follows up with us until they are better. I love Amor and have been their client since they opened on 90th South in West Jordan, Utah. Our cat, Asia, gave Cory Nebeker lots of grief, but it also was a learning curve for both of us. I took Asia to the annual Rabies Clinic, and it was Corys first one. Asia did not like dogs, and you stood outside the fire department waiting your turn for the injection. When our turn came, Asia would not come out of the cat carrier, so Cory reached in and grabbed her and pulled her out - - - big mistake, Asia lit into him and scratched his arms and left her mark. After a Tech caught the cat, back into the carrier she went, no shot. Cory told me to come by his business and he would give her the shot in her own private room. From that point on, her chart was coded RED which meant a "watch out" for that cat mark. When my daughter Tiffany finished her Vet Tech at West Jordan High School, she eventually went to Amor and worked about 6 months before deciding to go to SLCC full time. She always loved working with the other Techs, office staff, and Cory. She is now living in West Valley, Utah, but still brings her cats here to Amor. We love Amor and would not go anywhere else! They truly care about you and your animals.

The groomers are good never have never had a problem with them. However one of the vets misdiagnosed my daughters dog. Recommended euthanasia. I questioned the diagnosis and agreed she should get second opinion. Treated aggressively for congestive heart failure which led to renal failure from dehydration. Stopped all meds per other vets recommendation and he has never been better. Questioned heart failure with clear lung sounds. Other vet said the chest X-ray was taken on expiration rather than inspiration and was also underexposed. Makes me wonder why some vets dont actually examine the dog and treat on diagnostic imaging. If she the vet would had listened to lung sounds she would have known. She treated him because he had coughed a few times. My daughter was paranoid about the cough because she had just lost her other dog to CHF and thats why she took him in but definitely did not have CHF. The other vet even had a radiologist read the chest X-ray from Armor and said it was normal other than his heart was slightly enlarged. Good thing my daughter went with her gut otherwise her little guy would be dead. I know Armor has other vets who might be great but with an experience like this deserves one star. Will never go back also will be contacting this vet so she is aware of the grave error she made. Plus it cost a lot of money and she almost killed the dog.
