I have had to visit their offices several times with the kids, always spend at least 40 minutes in a crowded, cramped and dark waiting room. The front desk staff is unfriendly and rude, they dont like being asked "how much longer". When youve been waiting 30 minutes past your scheduled appt time, I dont think asking is unreasonable. Receptionist treated me like a child, waved me off and told me to take a seat. Just rude. They changed their online portal and didnt tell anyone, I got a link to open my daughters account two months after her last appt. Try to email through it, - you get no response. Dr. Day has little personality, she gets the job done but there isnt much interaction with her. She will answer your questions as they pertain to the complaint that brought you in but nothing else. When youre not feeling well, having a dour doctor doesnt help. In December 2014, I brought my daughter in when she had the flu, they assigned me to Dr. Carter. He breezed into the exam room after we had been waiting there for 20 minutes and never apologized for the delay. This on top of the 40 minutes we waited in the waiting room. He looked directly at my daughter the entire time, never acknowledged I was sitting next to her and sent her over for xrays since she had a bad cough. He talked pretty fast without asking us if we needed clarification or anything else. We then waited almost one hour for the xray to be read, went back to Dr. Carter who said there was something on the xray and we should "watch it". Never got a follow up call from him or the practice and its been two months. Not sure how we are supposed to "watch it"? . Ive never been to a medical practice that didnt follow up after a visit, especially when xrays are involved. No one from this practice called after our visit. We are actively looking to leave this practice and find another but its tough, most practices are not taking new patients. I would not recommend this practice if you want to establish a long-term relationship with your family doctor.

I called this practice for two reasons. The first was that I needed a new primary care provider; the second was that I had an infection that required attention that day. The woman that answered the phone, "Debbie" I believe she said was her name, could not have been more rude. She started to schedule my same-day appointment without hesitation ...until she realized I was not an existing patient. At that point she said I couldnt be seen until the following week. I explained that I was looking for a primary care physician and that the nature of the infection could not wait four days to be treated. She rudely said "Then go to the urgent care center at the front of the building." Seriously? I reiterated that I am looking to establish a relationship with a new primary care provider. I also asked her to explain how she went from having availability to having none. Her response was that those appointments are reserved for existing patients. While I understand that priority for same-day appointments should naturally be for existing patients, blowing off prospective patients the way she did was just plain rude. If I just looking for a doctor to treat my infection and had no intentions of ever going there again, then her unwillingness to give me an appointment would make sense. However, I made it clear from the start that I was seeking a new primary care physician. Based on the front desk interaction, I am no longer interested in establishing myself as a patient with this practice, despite having been referred there by existing patients. If a doctor or medical practice has people like "Debbie" working the front office, their concern for patients is suspect.

Rude receptionist, sure doesnt make me want to have this facility in control of my health. On 17 February 2016 at approximately 12:00pm I called this office looking for a new Doctor because I just moved to the area. I asked if this group was taking on new patients... The receptionist response was, Depends on what insurance you have. I told her CIGNA. Her response was then, Yes we are. At this point I giggled to myself thinking they must get a lot of calls and walkin from people who do not have insurance. Her tone was a little rude, but could be open to interpretation. Then I gave her my new address, phone number, told her I needed to see a doctor about depression and anxiety, but Im not concerned which Dr. anyone who is free would be great. She asked again about my insurance, I told her I have CIGNA. Then she said I need the group # etc now. I was like well I dont have that on me I can certainly provide you all that when I arrive for my appointment.. Her response (rudely) no, no I need that now. My response wow you guys are really concerned about insurance... her response something like yeah. Mine well I have insurance but I can already tell this place isnt for me. Your reception staff is the face / voice of your practice. They should be polite and make you want to come. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND YOU BASED OFF THIS.

Ive been going to Family Medicine of Clifton/Centreville for over 12 years. My favorite physician and my designated primary care physician, is Dr. Carter. He is the best doctor I can ever remember seeing, with a very good communication style and excellent knowledge and analytical skill. My wife has seen Dr. Carter also and likes him but prefers to see a female doctor/Nurse Practitioner at this clinic. The clinic has good hours, including Saturday hours if you need that, has phlebotomists on site to draw blood, and is generally a great place to get health care. My wife is not good with blood and has passed out there (more than once) while getting her blood taken, and they revived her without making her feel bad. They have an EKG/ECG if you need that, and there is a radiology center in the same complex as well if you need any scans done. I cant think of anything else to say. This is a great clinic and I cant see going anywhere else.

I have gone to the doctor here one time and it was a 2 hour visit to see the doctor between waiting in the waiting room and in the patient room. I recently moved and had them change my prescriptions to a new pharmacy. After waiting for 10 minutes on hold it took 4 back and forth phone calls to make sure they got my new pharmacy registered. I was assured it was taken care of. I showed up at the pharmacy yesterday to get very important medication and it wasnt on file because they actually never ended up sending it over. Total waste of my time and now I dont have my medication that I need. I have never written a review for anything in my life but the hassle it takes to get this office to do anything is completely ridiculous. Changing offices as soon as possible.

My kids have been going to this practice for several years now and today was the last straw. It seems that every time we have an appointment to see them, they always have a poor excuse for the extremely long wait period and poor customer service. I understand that unexpected things happen, but its no excuse for the lack of communication and courtesy to let you know that its going to be awhile before a doctor sees you, especially if the staff knows that its going to be longer than an hour. Its really a combination of several things - lack of professionalism, communication, courtesy, and, at times, common sense. I recommend Rocky Run Family Medicine. They have better service, shorter wait times, and much friendlier staff.
