This is in response to "Concerned Citizen". When a doctor goes to MDVIP, he is required to give up his other patients. A concierge medicine practice gives a lot more time to each patient than is allowed by Medicare or insurance companies. Thats one of things that $1600 per year pays for. For myself, when I became a senior citizen, I no longer had the time or mental energy/capacity to stay on top of my medical conditions. I needed the hand holding that is not possible for a doctor with 3000 patients. MDVIP restricts the number of patients that a doctor can have to about 600. You get what you pay for and $1600 is well worth it when compared to standard medical practices that I dealt with for 40 years.

Concerned Citizen

Went in to see Dr. Hong as have done previously in the 13 years he has been my doctor. I was told that because I wasnt a member of his MDVIP private pay membership, which costs $1600 per year on top of insurance copayment and dr bills, that he could not see me. I invested 13 years to build up trust with a doctor and now he kicks me to the curb. I was deeply saddened. It is quite obvious that Dr. Hong no longer cares about me as a patient but is after the $$$$. Sad. Trust is gone.
